technology. The company also has the highest operating margin in the AEC industry. From 2009 to 2011, he was named
president of MWH Middle East, returning the division to solid growth and profitability. He serves on the Board of
Directors of MWH Global and Innovyze.
Dr. Boulos is known for being an inspiring leader, motivator and relationship builder with influential corporate and
governmental connections throughout the U.S. and the Arab world, and for his ability to unite, getting things done in
collaborative and effective ways, with a track record of tough decision making. He is also seasoned in organizational
development and change management to support rapid innovation, operational efficiencies and strategic growth. His
charismatic, results-focused style makes him a sought-after board member for a range of international professional and
philanthropic organizations. His engineering expertise has put him on the short list of keynote speakers at technical
symposia and events worldwide, and he has been invited to serve on numerous prominent boards and committees
throughout the water industry.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
INNOVYZE (www.innovyze.com), Broomfield, Colorado 1996-present
Founder, Director, President, COO and Chief Innovation Officer (1996-present)
As Founder, President, COO and Chief Innovation Officer, Dr. Boulos is responsible for the company’s strategic vision
and leads the development and growth of Innovyze’s global wet infrastructure software technology portfolio. Under his
leadership, the firm has enjoyed remarkable growth (revenue CAGR of 29%) becoming one of the most recognized and
respected brands in the water industry. Innovyze now commands a global market share that could well be greater than
that of all major legacy competitors combined. Since its inception in May 1996, Innovyze has had an uninterrupted
twenty-year run of double-digit profitability (EBBITA CAGR of 33%, reaching 34% of MWH Global profits), with the
highest operating profit and EBBITA margins (over 60% of net and gross revenue) and ROI (over 400%) in the annals
of the AEC industry and a record low DSO (30 days). Innovyze clients include ten of the top ten ENR Water and
Wastewater design firms, 49 of the top 50 U.S. cities, six of the top ten cities in Canada, eight of the top ten cities in East
Asia, ten of the top ten cities in Australia, nine of the top ten cities in New Zealand, eight of the top ten cities in Belgium,
seven of the top ten cities in the Netherlands, six of the top ten cities in Italy, four of the top six cities in Spain, ten of the
top ten water utilities in the UK, all six Gulf Cooperation Council states, and more than 6,000 progressive clients in over
60 countries. These clients use Innovyze software to plan, manage, design, protect, operate and sustain their hydraulic
infrastructures.
MWH GLOBAL (www.mwhglobal.com), Broomfield, Colorado 1991-present
Director and President
Dr. Boulos is a President and a Director of MWH Global, one of the world’s leading environmental engineering firms,
with more than 7,000 employees in 35 countries and annual revenues exceeding $1.4 billion. The company has long been
considered one of the world’s top three experts on power, water and wastewater issues. Dr. Boulos has held numerous
positions during his tenure with MWH Global, including president, senior vice president, vice president, corporate
director of intellectual property, corporate water department manager, technical director, and project manager on several
large domestic and international water projects.
From July 2009 to June 2011, he served as President of MWH ME with offices throughout the Middle East and North
Africa. During his two-year tenure, against the backdrop of a challenging economic environment, Dr. Boulos opened a
new regional office in Dubai, achieved successful settlement of all legacy problems, favorably settled doubtful debts,
instituted rigorous risk management and compliance programs, established strong commercial and project disciplines,
consistently generated positive cash flow from operations and eliminated internal borrowing, improved AR collection
and reduced DSO by 57% to an all-time record low, raised both backlog and time utilization to record highs, and returned
the company to solid growth and profitability. He also built strong relationships with key major clients and developed
alliances and partnerships with other large engineering firms to win critical contracts; established a balanced geographic
footprint targeting well-funded clients in the thriving economies of Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia; and led
the company’s transformational growth into the higher-value, higher-margin service areas of integrated master planning,
management consulting, asset management and program management.
