agricultural exports. This was an

thinkers like George E Patton.

Today, with a strong design and

engineering team, Patton continues

to deliver advanced refrigeration

In 1923, in the South Island of New Zealand, George E Patton set

up a refrigeration engineering shop in Christchurch. It was a location

surrounded by inspiration, export quality Canterbury lamb, snow

capped mountains and huge potential for a refrigeration man with

vision. Business thrived and by 1930 G E Patton Ltd was producing a

range of domestic refrigerators and flip top ice cream cabinets for the

rapidly expanding local market.

As business grew Patton’s innovative product development grew with it. Chest freezers,

absorption refrigerators and New Zealand’s first curved glass fronted delicatessen and

frozen food cabinets were all the work of G E Patton.

In the 1970’s G E Patton Ltd changed its name to Patton Refrigeration, moved head

office north to Auckland and focused on developing the increasingly successful

commercial refrigeration component of their business. New ranges from Patton included

condensing units, air-cooled condensers and unit coolers.

In 2008 Patton Refrigeration became simply Patton Ltd, a truly international company

with a diverse product range, an 85 year history and an enviable reputation. With nine

New Zealand branches, eleven Australian branches and sales offices in Thailand and

India. Patton manufacturing facilities are based in New Zealand, Australia and Thailand.

Every day, every month, every year, Patton continues to expand and enhance their global

presence, consistently providing top quality equipment and service to the refrigeration

industry worldwide.

AusTRAlIA

The mid 1980’s saw the opening of Patton’s

manufacturing and distribution facility in Sydney.

Since then the company has been providing

refrigeration and HVAC products to this

growth market.

Currently the Australian market covers eleven

wholesale outlets in five Australian states

(Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales,

Queensland and Western Australia), including

four joint ventures.

NEW ZEAlANd

Since 1923, Patton has grown to become market leader

in the New Zealand refrigeration and HVAC industry.

A network of nine wholesale branches, seven in the North

Island and two in the South Island, provides national

coverage to New Zealand’s refrigeration, air conditioning

and mechanical services trade. Auckland is the base for

all research, development and technical support.

THAIlANd

November 2007 saw the establishment of Patton Aero Co.

Ltd (PACL) in Bangkok, a successful joint venture between

Patton NZ and Eastern Syntech Co. PACL manufacture

Patton specialty refrigeration equipment for Southeast Asia,

India, the Middle East and the rest of the world.

INdIA

Patton Refrigeration India Pvt Ltd was established

in Delhi in November 2007, soon after it acquired

local HVAC brand ‘Synergy’. The company

continues to thrive and expand in a rapidly

developing market. In addition to importing

evaporators and condensing units from its

Patton Thailand facility, Patton India represents

many world renowned brands including Henry,

Fieldpiece, Mueller Industries, Embraco, Dorin,

Uniweld, Appion, Think, Supco and Suniso.

MAdE TO ORdER

Sometimes standard doesn’t fit all applications.

When that is the case, Patton design and manufacture

refrigeration equipment to suit individual requirements

and situations. This includes water chillers, racks,

compressor/receiver sets and milk vat units.

AT WORK

At Patton, providing the ultimate refrigeration solution

does not mean simply supplying refrigeration equipment.

It means working closely with clients to understand

exactly what is required, what are the ultimate goals

and which elements of a situation need to be

considered before work commences on design,

manufacture or supply.

This approach sets Patton apart and has achieved

outstanding results in major industries.

dAIRY - MIlK CHIllING

In a country whose economy depends on farming and

agriculture, it is no surprise that Patton is the industry

leader in providing cost effective, low maintenance and

efficient refrigeration for dairy farms. This includes supply

of units for pre-chilling, vat chilling, bulk milk coolers and

heat exchangers to capture waste heat.

FRuIT ANd PROduCE COOl sTOREs

Patton are industry specialists in the supply of

pre-chilling and long-term storage equipment for

Australia’s huge fruit industry. They are well qualified to

provide design assistance and custom manufacture

for anything from a small cool room to a large store

complex including Controlled Atmosphere (CA) stores.

They also supply system controls and monitoring

equipment to ensure fresh products reach the market

in optimum condition.

Patton design and build refrigeration equipment specific

to the needs of wineries and breweries throughout

Australia, New Zealand and Oceania. There is a

customised Patton solution for manufacturing,

product storage and precise temperature control

for fermentation.

FOOd PROduCTION

For the requirements of blast freezing, storage chilling,

climate control of process areas, controlling the

temperature of food products (fruit, vegetables, meat,

seafood, dairy) before manufacture, during manufacture

or post production. Patton designs and supplies

equipment to leading food production companies

throughout Australia, New Zealand and the world.

suPERMARKETs ANd lIQuOR sTOREs

Patton’s supply rack systems, air-cooled condensers,

unit coolers and components for supermarket

refrigeration cabinets, cases, cool rooms and freezers.

They also manufacture refrigeration condensing units

and evaporators for retail liquor store cool rooms.
