SURFACE:Pumpkin #80848 (resin)

MISC. SUPPLIES:Acrylic Sealer Finisher Matte Spray #70836JoSonja White Gesso #83101JoSonja Clear Glaze Medium #83106 or JoSonja Magic Mix #87355Shop TowelsSandpaper

BRUSHES: Papillon by the Artist’s Club:Glaze Wash size ¾" #20102Shader size 6 #20127 Liner size 10/0 #20145

PAINTING INSTRUCTIONS:Apply a generous coat of JoSonja White Gesso to the pumpkin (thin it a little with water). Allow a few brush marks to remain on the surface. Once dry, give it a light sanding. Apply Antique Bronze, two coats should suffice. Allow a few brush marks to remain in the finish.

The Faux Patina:The Pumpkin is heavily antiqued using Soft Black and JoSonja Clear Glaze Medium or JoSonja Magic Mix. Use a brush to apply the glaze and then wipe it back gently using a piece of a damp shop towel. Allow the glaze to run into the nooks and crannies. Once you have toned down the metallic a little set the pumpkin aside to dry.

Prepare a mixture of the Bahama Blue and JoSonja Clear Glaze Medium (it should be quite thin). Use a brush to apply this in small amounts at a time, letting it run into the crevasses as well as the large open spaces. Let this color collect in the details of the pumpkin and then gently wipe away the excess with a damp piece of a shop towel. Let this dry thoroughly.

Add a little more Bahama Blue to the glaze mixture (to make the color a little stronger) and repeat the process until you are happy with the amount of pa-tina you have created. Let it dry overnight.

FINISHING:Lightly spatter the entire surface with thinned Soft Black. Apply two light coats of Acrylic Sealer Finisher Matte Spray.
