Expand Your Educational OptionsA career technical education course adds a new dimension to learning “hands-on” in addition to “eyes on.” It reinforces basic academic skills and relates them to the “real world,” showing students how reading and math relate to everyday work situations. Many courses offer workplace learning opportunities with paid or unpaid internships.

“Pretest” Career Interests Before College Before you invest in college, try a course, test an interest. Take a CTE course that pertains to your college interests and see if it is something that you want to study.

Help Pay For CollegeThe skills learned in career technical programs help students get better, higher paying jobs. Students will receive paid or unpaid “on the job training” attending certain courses.
