UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE

AUNT RUBY, OF THE R. M. S. LUSITANIA CRUISE SHIP

NEGATIVITY DECIMATION SYSTEM

Application filed February 29, 1912. Serial No. 2,109,150.

This invention relates to a negativity

decimation system, that is, it is directed to a

system of decimating negativity in humans

using audible, visual, chemical,

electromagnetic, gravitational, quantum, and 5

physical human expression in the presence of

American Traditional Jazz music.

Heretofore, attempts have been made to

facilitate self expression, social interaction and

dance using American Traditional Jazz music. 10

These prior attempts have generally embodied

audible, visual, and/or physical expression

modalities but were unsuccessful at decimating

negativity consistently. This has generally

been due to the fact that the ego-centric focus 15

of past attempts have not been able to reach the

necessary level of emotional synchrony

required to decimate negativity.

An object of the present invention is to

provide a negativity decimation system which 20

is adapted to transmit positive emotional and

intellectual content across the full human

emotional and intellectual spectral bandwidth.

Another object of the present invention is to

provide a system which promotes positive 25

social interactions among humans. Positive

social interactions include, but are not limited

to, the following classes of activities: Social

dancing, communicating, i.e., talking,

semaphores, charades, laughing, singing, 30

sighing, winking, jumping, embracing, and

other forms of affection.

In the process and apparatus of the present

invention, pressure waves (audio signals)

radiate away from the musicians and impinge 35

upon the attendees. Similarly, visual light

(visual signals) is reflected from the musicians

and impinges upon the attendees. As

applicable, musicians supplement their audio

and visual signals by emitting pheromones, 40

gravitational, quantum, and other signaling

means to further communicate with attendees

across the full human emotional and

intellectual spectral bandwidth.

The present invention, together with various 45

objects and advantages thereof will best be

understood from a description of an example

system embodying the invention. For this

purpose, hereinafter one such example of a

negativity decimation system hereinafter 50

referred to as "Aunt Ruby's Sweet Jazz Babies"

(ARSJB) has been set forth with illustrations

as adapted for live performance. It is to be

understood, however, that the invention is

capable of various and numerous 55

modifications, changes, and substitutions and

is not necessarily limited to the negativity

decimation function.

The invention will best be understood from a

description of the accompanying drawings, in 60

which:

Figure 1 is a representation of Professor

Joseph Cordi, pianist and vocalist.

Figure 2 is a representation of Frank Lee

Devine, resonator guitarist and vocalist. 65

Figure 3 is a representation of Mark

"Speedy" Gonzales, trombonist and vocalist.

Figure 4 is a representation of Grand General

Ryan J. Gould, string bassist, vocalist, and

whistler. 70

Figure 5 is a representation of Tartan Purry,

clarinetist, saxophonist, and vocalist.

2 2,109,150

Figure 6 is a representation of King Crazy

Oliver Steck, trumpet, accordionist, vocalist,

and foley artist.

Referring to the drawings, in Figure 1,

Professor Joseph Cordi exemplifies the 5

presence of both masculinity and "welcoming

eyes", typical characteristics of males from

northern Italy whom females find to be

naturally endearing and emotionally rich

partners. 10

In Figure 2, Frank Lee Devine expresses his

gratitude for the receipt of flowered garlands

from adoring ladies. Mr. Devine has evolved

an effective system of non-verbal

communication to overcome his English 15

linguistic limitations.

Figure 3 depicts Mark "Speedy" Gonzales

transmitting the "Speedy Effect" wave while

simultaneously performing on the trombone.

Visual aberrations in the figure are due to 20

variations in gravity-space-time resulting from

the Speedy Effect.

Grand General Ryan J. Gould is shown

performing on the string bass in Figure 4.

Note the relaxed and zen-like meditative 25

performance manner while performing in the

"slap" style, reflective of a man whom is

focused, emotionally balanced, thoughtful and

intellectual.

Figure 5 captures Tartan Purry plaintively 30

singing to a rapturous crowd, previously

unawares a man of such capabilities was in

their midst. The full upright posture of health

and vitality commanded by Tartan Purry is

demonstrated in this figure. 35

King Crazy Oliver Steck embraces his

theatrical heritage in Figure 6, expressing

emotional trepidation during an operatic

performance of Puccini's "La Boheme". King

Crazy Oliver Steck is a man who routinely 40

scoffs at challenges prior to conquering them,

and fully capable of gracefully articulating his

feelings.

The negativity decimation system affects

attendees in multiple beneficial ways; an 45

example of one such way is shown in Figure 7.

In this figure, the cumulative action of the

ARSJB Gravity Wave waveform and the

Speedy Effect waveform emitted by Mark

"Speedy" Gonzales results in a sharp increase 50

in female heart rate and overall passion

quotient over time, resulting in greatly

increased incidence of romance, excitement,

and joy. Emissions from other musicians may

be substituted for the Speedy Effect. 55

Similarly, other overall negativity decimation

system emission characteristics of quantum,

electromagnetic, etc., may be substituted for

ARSJB Gravity Wave, and while the overall

resulting magnitude changes of Passion 60

Quotient and Female Heart Rate may be

reduced from that shown in Figure 7, the

demonstrated general performance trend for

Passion Quotient and Female Heart Rate

remains valid for all combinations of 65

individual musician emissions as well as

overall negativity decimation system

emissions.

During the operation of the negativity

decimation system, joy level, emotional 70

bonding, and physical separation between

attendees are related to the musical emotional

intensity as demonstrated in Figure 8. Upon

the commencement of the musical

performance as shown in Figure 8, average 75

partner physical separation decays within 20

seconds, reflecting the human desire for

physical closeness during the musical

performance. Additionally, both the joy level

and emotional bonding are shown drastically 80

increasing during the musical performance.

This affirms the aforementioned physical

closeness resulted from positive human

emotions and desire for affection. These

increases are aligned with the undulating 85

musical emotional intensity waveform emitted

by the negativity decimation system. The

musical emotional intensity waveform is

tailored by the negativity decimation system to

coincide with the statistical average human 90

emotional processing characteristic commonly

referred to as "ebb and flow".

An example of the experiential effects of the

negativity decimation system are represented

in Figure 9. In this figure, the origin of the 95

ARSJB Adventures characteristic is aligned

along the Attraction Vector, demonstrating that

humans find ARSJB adventures attractive.

Additionally, the ARSJB Adventures

characteristic lies entirety within the 100

Believability Limit, denoting that all ARSJB

adventures are believable by humans. For

3 2,109,150

reference, the Attraction Vector terminates at

the Believability Limit, demonstrating humans

are not attracted to unbelievable experiences.

The Human Sensory Limit does route near the

Believability Limit, reflecting humans will 5

disbelieve experiences their senses cannot

process. It is observed that the ARSJB

Adventures characteristic routes near the

Believability Limit and the Human Sensory

Limit, indicating that some ARSJB Adventures 10

are near the sensory processing limit and

believability of humans.

Figure 9 also compares ARSJB Adventures

to other industry standard experiential

characteristics, the "Family of Fishing Stories" 15

characteristic and the "Pinocchio

Characteristic". As shown in Figure 9, ARSJB

Adventures embody both good experiences

and blissful fantasy human state, both of which

are elaborated hereinafter. The Family of 20

Fishing Stories reflect the proverbial

"incredible fish that got away" fishing story

combination of bad experiences and fantasy

human state. The Pinocchio Characteristic

reflects bad experiences and nightmare human 25

state. It is observed that ARSJB Adventures

do not intersect with the Pinocchio

Characteristic, which indicates that the entirety

of ARSJB Adventures are true. ARSJB

Adventures slightly overlap with the Family of 30

Fishing Stories characteristic, which accounts

for the relatively small percentage of fishing

stories which are both good as well as fantasy

experiences. It is noted that attendees exposed

to a negativity decimation system report that 35

their "dreams came true", i.e., their innermost

fantasies for love, romance, etc., became

reality during the operation of the negativity

decimation system. This is a direct result of

the fantasy domain component of the ARSJB 40

Adventures characteristic, which reflects the

transfer function of the negativity decimation

system - its ability to understand the hopes

and dreams of human attendees and transfer

these wishes from the fantasy human state into 45

real and positive human experiences.

It is observed that the ARSJB Adventures

characteristic overlaps the bad experiences and

nightmare axis. This reflects the attendees

who are located within the near field radius of 50

the negativity decimation system during

negativity decimation system operation, as

well as the fate of their pre-existing

relationships. This phenomenon is explained

further as follows: The near field radius of the 55

negativity decimation system is an

approximately spherical zone of influence with

the zone origin located at the emotional center

of the musician ensemble. Attendees who are

located within the near field radius during 60

operation of the negativity decimation system

will fall under the direct influence of the

musicians and develop emotional attachment

for the first musician they perceive. As a

result, the pre-existing relationship of the 65

attendee is negatively impacted and these

resulting effects (nightmare/bad) upon these

pre-existing relationships are thus represented

by the overlap of the ARSJB Adventures

characteristic with the nightmare/bad axis. As 70

shown in Figure 9, the overlap of the ARSJB

Adventures characteristic with the

nightmare/bad axis is comparatively small

compared to the overall domain of the ARSJB

Adventures characteristic, indicating the 75

negativity decimation system is statistically

overwhelmingly beneficial to society.

While the negativity decimation system

herein described is well adapted for carrying

out the objects of the present invention, it is 80
