We delivered all the donations for the homeless shelter justbefore the snow storm last week. They were very gratefulfor our generosity and assured us that the items will be putto good use.
We will be collecting items each month up to at least April. The organization is still working with the City of Olathe to get an occupancy permit for thepermanent shelter, till then they are using the church as a temporary nightly shelter.
COLD WEAT ERSHEl ER
Thank you again for your generosity, if you would like to continue to donate it will bewelcomed.
Gently used or new:stocking capssocksjackets/sweaters/sweatshirtsblankets..... perhaps not quilts as they have no way to launder them
Items carried on the truck/van for distribution:candles.... not the small tea candles but tapers or larger ones, they are used for
warmthhand warmers ... can be purchased in bulk at Sam's 36 pair for $15.00protein bars... purchased at Sam's 18 bars for $16.00bottled water
The Project also tries to have a warm meal for them which is usually prepared byvolunteers and bought to the shelter, and/or if they run out they could use cash topurchase something for them to eat. We can accept cash at the meeting and will turnthat money over to them.
