The reconstruction of the facility in the village of Edara, made possible by the unity of the Egyptian churches and the partnership of United Kingdom and North American donors, is nearly complete and has produced a beautiful facility; but it is the testimonies coming from the church (the people) that are the real beauty. We are excited to share some of these stories in the next few months. Ken also spoke in the neighboring Horeya church for their revival meetings, for the weekly women’s ministry meeting in Asyut, and twice for the congregation in Minya. The Minya church (pictured) is the third oldest Church of God facility in Egypt and will be the focus of the Egypt project beginning this fall. We are very excited to see two female alumnae of 3WLN on the committee. Ostia Update Ken also traveled to Ostia, Italy, to join Dan Kihm (3W Netherlands) in quarterly support of the church’s executive committee (pictured with Dan). The executive committee has been established to support Pastor Daniele in the leadership of the congregation to be more intentional and strategic in their community outreach. It was an exciting weekend of reporting and planning together, and we are optimistic about the changes developing in the congregation as a result. Time for Home Assignment We are so excited to be sharing with so many the great things happening in the Middle East and Europe through the churches and the Three Worlds team. Ken begins in May with visits to California, Arizona, and western Washington; Keli and the boys will join him in June. Time for Home Assignment, continued Home assignment is our opportunity to return to report to the Global Strategy (GS) offices and our donors, as well as opportunity to see family whom we have left behind. Most GS personnel will attempt to see their donors once every four years. To accomplish these visits, GS personnel will either return for six months after two years on the field, or for one full year after four. However, because of unique ministry factors and the ages of our children in the midst of their high school years, we were given the opportunity to return for less time every other summer. Such a brief home assignment means that we have to be strategic in our scheduling and continually on the move to meet the commitment to visit and share with half of our supporters every two years. So once again this summer, you will see pictures and updates from us on social media from cities like Phoenix, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Portland, as well as less familiar communities. We will often be visiting donors in restaurants, or shown some amazing local sites during these visits; however, home assignment is not an extended vacation time for us. We are very much at work, reporting, often daily, about the ministries we are privileged to serve in the Europe and Middle East region. We will live out of suitcases and be on the move every few days. We covet your prayers for traveling mercies, for health and strength, and for our own peace and rest during this schedule. Please also pray that our limited time with family will be blessed and full for all of us. Thank you!
