AFM Pastoral Communication & G-mail Accounts
AFM Colleague,
We are aware that pastors with G-mail accounts are receiving all the SMS messages from
the National Office but are not receiving the e-mails. We investigated the issue and found
that G-mail accounts automatically sort the communication sent by the National Office as
SPAM and moves it directly into a SPAM Folder – without the pastor being aware of it.
The purpose of this quick guide is to help our pastors to find e-mails from the National
Office in their G-mail accounts.
STEP 1: LOG IN Type in your login details.
(See example below.)
STEP 2: FIND & CLICK ON THE “MORE” FOLDER
After you have logged in, your home screen of your e-mails will be similar to the image on the next
page. Look for a folder called “More” under “Circles” folder. Then click on it.

STEP 3: FIND & CLICK ON THE “SPAM” FOLDER
Look for the “Spam” folder. (See image below). Click on it.
NOTE: All correspondence previously sent by the National Office is lying in this folder. Even in future
when correspondence is sent out, the domain “g-mail”, will direct the information straight to the
“Spam” folder. This is because of the settings that the different domains have - and unfortunately it
is beyond the control of a G-mail account holder. There is also nothing more the National Office can
do to prevent this from happening.

Tip: To quickly locate e-mails that was sent to you from the National Office type “chantalle” in the
search bar. An example is provided below:
STEP 4: FIND & DRAG TO INBOX
All previous correspondence will be listed now. However, you will not be able to view
images/pictures that are forming part of the e-mails.
To view with images/pictures click on the e-mail and drag it to the “inbox” folder.

STEP 5: FIND IN YOUR INBOX & VIEW
Now quickly search to locate the e-mails in your inbox – as they are probably dated a few months
ago and listed in that order in your inbox. Again type “chantalle” in your search bar to find all the e-
mails sent by the National Office.
Finish! After following these steps you should be able to view e-mails received from the National
Office. If you still have challenges please do contact us:
