WEEK AT A GLANCE
15
Welcome to Winter Park Presbyterian Church
Whether you’re a guest or a long-time member, we’re glad you joined us in worship this
morning to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord.
Winter Park Presbyterian Church strives to be a community where we find new life by
the grace of God in Jesus Christ, through the Holy Spirit. We seek to be a people who
live out of God’s redeeming grace, witnessing to the new life given by God by engaging
in ministries of compassion and justice.
There are many opportunities here to connect with others. It is our hope that you find
this church to be a place where you feel welcomed and equipped to grow in your
Christian faith.
Jason T. Micheli
Senior Pastor
If You Are New Here
We invite you to write your name(s) in the red registration pad when it is passed down the pew. If you would
like information on the ministries of this church, please include your contact information. Also, greeters and
ushers at the entrances can provide you with information about our programs and volunteer opportunities.
Please join us for refreshments and conversation in fellowship hall following the service.
Worship Aids
Assistive hearing devices are available from the sound control technician at the rear of the sanctuary. Large
print hymnals are available from the ushers.
Worshiping with Children
Children are welcome to stay in the sanctuary for the entire worship service. They are invited to come
forward for the Children’s Moment, following which they may return to sit with their families, or (Pre-K—3rd
grade) leave for Children’s Church on non-communion Sundays. In addition, childcare for preschool-age
children is available in our nursery, room 608, during all services.
If You Are in Need of Prayer
Elders are available to pray with you after the service, at the front of the sanctuary. Your prayers are
confidential unless you request they be shared with our Pastoral Care staff. You may also complete a prayer
request card (available in the pews and at the back of the sanctuary) and give it to an usher.

Relationships in Action—Sunday Mornings at 9:15 a.m. in Room 301 As noted last week, there is no RIA class this morning. Next Sunday, physician Gary Slutkin discusses how we in the U.S. have reversed so many diseases, and how we can do the same with violence. Matt Straub will lead our discussion.
Property Committee Workday, Saturday, April 2nd Come for coffee and donuts and spend some time doing “fix-up” and “clean-up” tasks around the church. We will meet about 9:00 a.m. in fellowship hall and finish by noon.
New Member/Inquirer Lunch If you're a new member, or have been visiting and would like to know more about our church, you're invited to our first New Member/Inquirer Lunch of 2016, which immediately follows the 10:30 service on Sunday, April 10th. The lunch will be in the church parlor in the Christian Education building. Please call the church office at 407-647-1467 by Tuesday April 5th to make your reservation. Then just bring your appetite and your questions!
Our Library Comes to YOU To raise awareness of our excellent and extensive library, our librarians are bringing select books to a table at the left of the sanctuary entry doors in the narthex each week for you to peruse and choose a book (or two) to take home to read. Check-out directions are on the table. Books will be rotated monthly. Help yourself to good reading and support WPPC’s library!
About WPPC’s Sustainment Committee The work of the Sustainment Committee is, in brief, to lead the congregation and church leadership through a discernment process as we seek to answer two questions: what is God calling this church to be in 10, 15, or 20 year from now; and how can the church be faithful stewards of the resources that God has entrusted to us in order to become the church God is calling us to be. An update on the committee's work can be found in the April newsletter. Please take a moment to read this update.
Full and Active Participation in Worship When we gather as a church community for public worship, we embrace the order of worship as a means to join with those around us to proclaim God as Father, Jesus as Savior, and the Holy Spirit as Teacher and Comforter. Our bulletin serves as guide to be kept close at hand for our journey through the service, so that we may each fully participate in every aspect of worship, be it a hymn, a sung response, a prayer, a scripture reading, or other event within our service—presenting us the opportunity to be fully and actively engaged in the public worship of our Lord. Let us seek as a worshiping community to be joined with each other in this time of worship, offering our praise and thanksgiving for God’s loving faithfulness.
Electronic Giving Now Available We are pleased to have an electronic option for making regular offerings. Contributions can now be debited automatically from your checking or savings account. Our new electronic giving program offers convenience for you and provides much-needed donation consistency for our congregation. An authorization form is available from the church office and can be returned to Carolyn Achenbach. You can also securely set up one-time and recurring giving on our website at winppc.org/give and clicking “Member Giving.”

Confession
* Opening Prayer
Call to Confession
Prayer of God of everlasting life, we confess
that we continue in the ways of death.
You have announced your new creation,
but we put our hope in former things.
You have opened the door of the tomb,
but we close our hearts to our neighbors.
Forgive us, God of grace.
Make us people of the resurrection,
proclaiming the destruction of death
and the gift of glorious new life in you;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
(Continue with silent confession and reflection— response next page)
Response
Assurance of Pardon
* Response Gloria Patri [Greatorex]
* Peace Leader: The peace of our Lord be with you.
People: And also with you.
Prayers of the People concluding with The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
One Great Hour of Sharing Today One Great Hour of Sharing is one of five special offerings of the Presbyterian Church (USA). When you give to OGHS, you are assisting in the empowerment of others as they move past emotional, physical and spiritual misfortune—a chance for them to be resilient. The programs that benefit from your gifts will show others that through Christ’s love all things are possible (32% goes to Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, 36% goes to Presbyterian Hunger Program, and 32% goes to Self-Development of People). This offering today is sponsored by WPPC’s Compassion Committee.
Walk for Parkinson’s The Walk for Parkinson’s will be held on April 16th at Blue Jacket Park. If you are interested in participating, please contact Steve Marshall at (321) 356-7058.
WPPC "Spring Mission Trip" Some mission trips are far away and some are in our own backyards. Our April mission trip this year is to work on a Habitat for Humanity House in Winter Park for four Saturdays in April, starting on April 9th. We ride on the WPPC Bus and it's only a 15-minute drive to the site of the 52nd Habitat House being built by the Winter Park Affiliate. Most of the work assigned to us, will be painting inside and out, and putting in baseboards and installing roof soffits. Last summer, our VBS Kids earned enough money for W.P. Habitat to be able to buy a door and two windows for the house that we will be working on! We undertook this mission last year and it was a big success! So, by popular demand we will be signing up volunteers to work this year. Members of WPPC’s Compassion Committee will have a sign-up table in Fellowship Hall today, and again on April 3rd. We can only take about 10 to 12 people each Saturday to work, so sign up as soon as possible, so you won't lose your spot!
Friendship Club News Lake Nona High School Singers will be here to preview their spring musical, “Hair Spray.” Our meeting will be April 8th, which is the 2nd Friday of the month. We will have pasta, salad and dessert. As usual we meet at 11:30 am in the Fellowship Hall. Lunch is $5, reservations must be made by noon Wednesday, April 6th. Product of the month is household cleaning supplies. If you can't come for lunch the program will start about 12:15. As you know the Friendship Club is not a real club, it is made up of who can attend at any particular meeting. The steering committee plans the programs and outings trying to appeal to a variety of interests so come when you can and enjoy!
Friendship Club’s April Outing is on Sunday, April 24th, going to Lake Nona High School for the matinee performance of the musical, “Hair Spray.” The bus will leave the Church at 1:00 p.m. for the 2:00 p.m. performance. Tickets will be $15 for preferred seating. We can take 14 on the bus. Sign-up will start on April 8th.
Each One Reach One Take time during the week to reach out to friends and neighbors and invite them to come to come worship with us on Sunday mornings. Let them know that they’ll find a warm welcome, traditional worship, wonderful music, and an excellent message. If “each one reach one” is practiced faithfully, our worship experiences will be enriched for us as we see people around us who have responded to our invitations!

Thou art the King of glory, O Christ. Thou art the everlasting Son of the Father. When thou tookest upon thee to deliver man, thou didst not abhor the Virgin's womb. When thou hadst overcome the sharpness of death, thou didst open the kingdom of heaven to all believers. Thou sittest at the right hand of God in the glory of the Father. We believe that thou shalt come to be our Judge. We therefore pray thee, help thy servants whom thou hast redeemed with thy precious blood. Make them to be numbered with thy Saints in glory everlasting.
We praise thee, O God: we acknowledge thee to be the Lord. All the earth doth worship thee: the Father everlasting.
We praise thee…Thou are the King of glory, O Christ!

Sermon “He Is Risen”
* Affirmation of Faith • Adapted from the Confession of Belhar
We believe
that God’s life-giving Word and Spirit
have conquered the powers of sin and death,
and therefore also
of irreconciliation and hatred,
bitterness and enmity,
that God’s life-giving Word and Spirit
will enable the church to live
in a new obedience
which can open new possibilities of life
for society and the world.
