PASSPORT TO KEY STAGE 3THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU TO READ AND COMPLETE
OVER THE SUMMER BREAK
Welcome to CowleyWe are delighted that you will be joining us in September and we cannot wait to meet you, after what has been an unusual Summer Term for us all.
I know that some of you will have already visited us here at Cowley, but some of you may not have. I would like to reassure you that there are so many exciting things for you to look forward to in Year 7, like our many clubs and extra curricular activities that are on offer, such as sport, performing arts and the student council. Joining a club is a great way to meet new friends and learn new skills.
This booklet has been put together to provide a bit more information about Cowley and includes some fun activities for you to complete over the summer.
Have a lovely summer break and we’ll see you all on Friday 4th September 2020.

My PlannerWhen you join Cowley, you will be presented with a Planner. A Planner is more than just a homework diary, use your Planner to: PLAN your workMANAGE your timePREPARE for forthcoming eventsRECORD your achievements
Your Planner will only benefit you if you use it and keep it up-to-date.
Homework is very important. Always record your homework in your Planner and keep a check on what you have to do and when it has to be completed by.
Key points to remember about your Planner:• Bring the Planner into every lesson, every day.• Put the Planner on the desk at the start of every lesson.• Write your homework into the diary section.• Put your timetable into the plastic wallet.• Keep the Planner clean and graffiti free.• Get your parent/carer to sign the Planner each week.• Your tutor will also sign your Planner each week. • You need to show your Planner to get into lunch with your year group.
Time keeping All students must recognise that good attendance and punctuality will maximise achievement and enhance not only YOUR learning experience, but also develop YOUR employability skills.
Students who arrive late disrupt their own learning and that of others, this is the main reason why we set high expectations for attendance and punctuality.
