1 - 1803 House, 12-4, both days Free tours of the grounds of this colonial time capsule that was once home to Revolutionary War soldier Jacob Ehrenhardt, Jr. Hear stories, visit the archaeological dig, and view a slideshow of the house’s interior.

ALR - Alburtis-Lock Ridge Historical Society, 11-5, both days Free admission to the museum located in the Memorial Presbyterian Church, view a restored carriage built at the turn of the 20th century and a rich photograph collection of the town from the early 1900s.

2 - Durham Historical Society, Sat. 12-3 Free guided tours of the 1820 Historic Durham Mill. View the full-size replica of a Durham Boat (used by General Washington to cross the Delaware River) nearby.

3 - Forks Township Historical Society, 12-4, both days Free open house at the Revolutionary War-era spring house. Hear tales of the house and area from the 18th century through Prohibition.

4 - Historic Bethlehem Museums, 11-3, both days Free admission to the Smithy on Main Street. Take a guided Walking Tour at 1:00 and learn about Old Bethlehem or the Rise and Fall of Bethlehem Steel, or enjoy a self-guided digital tour of the Heritage Trail. Walking tours: $10 members, $15 non-members.

5 - Historic Easton Cemetery, 10-2 both days Free self-guided tours or docent tours from 11-2. Saturday only, 11-2: Visit with members of the PA 153rd Voluntary Infantry reenacting unit (weather permitting) and learn more about our local Civil War veterans, their equipment, women’s roles, and cemetery picnicking customs.

12 - Northampton County Historical and Genealogical Society/Sigal Museum, Sat. 10-4, Sun. 12-4 Free admission to the Sigal Museum. Visit our award-winning Destination: Northampton County exhibition. Families can explore the galleries with Scavenger Hunt Bingo and Dollhouse I Spy, or pick up a Grab & Go Historic Craft Kit to take home. Reserve advance tickets online at www.sigalmuseum.org.

13 - Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm, Sat. 10-4 Visit this living historical farm dedicated to Pennsylvania’s agricultural heritage. Saturday is Children’s Day, a day of old-fashioned fun with plenty of games, crafts, farm and animal activities.

14 - Slate Belt Heritage Center, 12-3, both days Free admission to the museum. Visit our new textile exhibit and blouse mill room and watch live demonstrations of quilting and embroidery.

15 - Whitehall Historical Preservation Society, 10-2, both days Tour the Helfrich Springs Grist Mill and Peter Grim House, enjoy our walk-through garden, and test your wits with our “What the Heck is It?” display.

16 - Williams Township Historical Society, Sat. 12-4 Head to Fry’s Run Park for tales of local history along the Delaware River. Or hop in your car for a five-mile driving tour loop with 18 points of interest. Docents will send you on your way or preview the tour at www.lvhistory.org.

6 - Horner’s Cemetery Historical Society, Sat. 1-3 Free tours of the oldest cemetery in Northampton County. Learn about Jane Horner, the first local woman killed in the French and Indian War and the cemetery’s namesake, framers of the Constitution, and other notable figures buried in the grounds.

7 - Jacobsburg Historical Society, 12-4, both days Free admission to the Pennsylvania Longrifle Museum, 1832 J. Joseph Henry mansion, and log cabin gunshop of Nicholas Hawk, 19th-century PA longrifle maker. The Henry family’s original summer kitchen and its carriage and sleigh barns will all be open. Stay and enjoy free hot dogs at our Annual Summer Community Picnic.

8 - Lower Macungie Historical Society, Camp Olympic Barn, Sun. 1-4 Free admission to the museum in the Camp Olympic Barn. Learn about our agriculture, iron mining, and PA German heritage, then head to our playground and memorial garden.

9 - Moravian Historical Society, 12-4, both days Free admission and tours of the Whitefield House Museum and 1740 Gray Cottage; children’s activities include colonial chores and games on the Whitefield House lawn (weather permitting).

10 - National Canal Museum, 11:30-4:30, both days Visit the Canal Museum and view our new Where Creativity Flows: Two Centuries of Art Inspired by Our Canals exhibition ($5 museum admission). Then head outside for family-friendly activities in beautiful Hugh Moore Park. There are no canal boat rides at this time.

11 - National Museum of Industrial History, 10:30 & 2, both days Get your ticket to “The Corliss Comes Alive” program and watch a massive 115-ton steam engine come to life. Once used by the York Water Company to pump eight million gallons of water per day, it took a decade to restore. The Corliss is now the most powerful operating water works steam engine in the U.S. Purchase your tickets online at www.nmih.org.
