Aims of the Program
• Raise awareness amongst consumers on the safe transport of children
• Generate consumer information on the safety performances of CRS available on
LA markets
• Deliver input for the reference list of the Latin NCAP program
• Transfer knowledge to Latin American consumer organisations / automobile clubs

Checklists:

• Putting child in CRS
• For RWF base (‘Basis’) and wedge (‘Keil’) must be attached .
• For kids 15 -25kg shoulder pads must be replaced by longer rubber shoulder pads (‘Schulterpolster’)
• RWF installation with fixing belt (‘Befestigungsgurt’) requires car front seat to attach.
• For FWF for kids 15-25 kg a ‘Safe Stop’ (load limiter)must be installed in the harness.

• June 2013:Phase 1 Isofix baby / toddler ECRS <105cm
• 22 June 2017:Phase 2 non-integralbooster with backrest , >100cm<135cm minimally, Isofix optional
• June 2018 Phase 3 (to be) adopted: belted universal baby / toddler seatsentry into force foreseen Feb 2019
• September 2017:Isofix withdrawn – no new approvals from 1 sept 2017
– no extensions from 1 sept 2020
• September 2019:Isofix withdrawn – no new approvals from 1 sept 2019
– no extensions from 1 sept 2023
• February 2017:Booster cushions only group 3(for children >125cm and 22kg)
PESRI’s wishlist:
• Allow UN R129 approved products on markets
• Add side protection in technical requirements
• Speed up introduction of LATCH / Isofix seats
• Encourage RWF transport for toddlers
• Improve ease of use: •Installation in car •Harness adjustment•Instructions
General message in the meantime
• ANY CRS is better than none
• Correct use determines level of protection
• Change to bigger CRS as late as possible
(especially from rearward facing to to forward facing)
