In addition to the responsibilities as Drilling Team Leader for both Punja and Gazela projects.
Gazela project involves production from a new platform in 84m water depth, tied back to existing facilities. Platform FEED is nearing completion and EPC is expected to commence Q2 2013.
As Project Manager, Responsible for the completion of concept studies, preparation of the Field Development Plan, as well as securing approvals from JV Partners and government.
Also responsible for preparing presentation material for, and securing necessary approvals at technical workshops, TCMs and OCMs
Concept studies and FDP completed and submitted on time, and approved.
Gazela Project is currently on track to achieve first oil in Q4 2013.
Key skills here include scheduling and control, liaison with senior management, partners and government.

Oct 2008-Oct 2009 Senior Drilling Engineer, Deepwater, Luanda, Angola
Reporting directly to the Drilling Manager and supported by three Angolan Drilling Engineers, responsible for all aspects of well engineering design, planning and operations, for Sonangol’s Angola Block 3-05A.
Initial concept evaluation for Block 34 Ultra-Deepwater.
Successfully drilled, completed and tested Sonangol’s first ever production well as sole operator. Several kicks were successfully detected, shut in and circulated out.
Planned and delivered the Punja-4 subsea appraisal well to targets in fractured carbonates, with less than 5% non-rig NPT. Punja-4 has been recognized as Sonangol’s most successful project to date, and the first ever project delivered on budget.

2004-January 2007 Asset Well Engineer and Contract Engineer, Nigeria
As asset well engineer, responsible for well engineering and planning for the Eastern Dom Gas Asset including upfront design and planning, procurement of long-lead items and interface with execution teams.
As contracts engineer and regional technical focal point for directional drilling, formation evaluation while drilling (FEWD) and electric wireline contracts, successfully managed global framework contracts for the Africa Region.
Through regular demand and capacity reviews with service companies, successfully maintained resource availability in these key contracts at the peak of global bottlenecks in drilling services.
2002-2004 Operations Well Engineer, Deepwater, USA and Morocco
Reporting to the Senior Drilling Engineer (in Houston) and the Drilling Superintendent (in Morocco), responsible for providing well engineering input to the subsurface team, producing well engineering designs (including well programmes) and planning in conformance with Shell’s DTL (Drilling The Limit) process.
Carried out tender and bid evaluation for drilling services and consumables procurement.
Put in place HSE documentation in collaboration with the Moroccan environment ministry.
During the drilling phase, managed daily drilling operations for two deepwater wells in accordance with the drilling programme.
1999-2002 Offshore Drilling Supervisor, Deepwater, Brazil
As Offshore Drilling Engineer responsible for the DTL process, supported the Senior Drilling Supervisor in delivering the deepwater drilling Program using a 5th Generation floating Drilling Unit.
Was an integral part of a successful ten-well campaign, and was later involved in well planning for one ultra-deepwater well with surface BOP.
With the high daily costs in deepwater activities, the focus was on continuous optimisation of drilling performance. Through implementation of the DTL process, achieved cost savings in the region 10% over twelve wells.
