Welcome to issue I of Bits ’n’ Bytes for the academic year 2020-2021. In this issue we bring to you all the events held in department of Computer Science from May 2020- August 2020.

In this issue we share with you the glimpses of farewell function organized for Mrs. Neeta Dhopeshwarkar, Assistant Professor in the department.

Faculty Achievement

Dr.(Ms).Sameena Falleiro was the Resource Person for the National Workshop on "Learning Management System: Moodle " at the TLC 14 organized by the TLC DET SNDTWU Teaching Learning Centre PMMMNMTT, Mumbai on 1st August, 2020 she conducted a session on "MOODLE Grade sheets".

Miss Ashweta Anand Fondekar, Asst.Professor conducted Hands on training on Google Forms for Administrative Staff and Lab Assistants of Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts and Science, Margao, on 17 August 2020. Training was given to the staff on the following: 1.Creating and setting up form on Google Drive. 2.Creating Professional Looking Forms. 3.Collect data using forms. 4.Storing data in Spreadsheet on drive. 5.Form Validation.

Dr.(Ms). Sameena Falleiro, participated in Webinar on "GNomio for Moodle Courses" on 29th August, 2020 organized by the TLC DET SNDTWU Teaching Learning Centre PMMMNMTT, Mumbai.

Dr. Nandkumar Sawant, Principal and Dr. Nandini Vaz Fernandes, Dean of Life Sciences, Mr.Castor Godinho and Mr. Wendham Gray, Faculty from the Department of Computer Science, received a project grant of Rs.1,00,000/- for ‘Wildlife Activity App’ from Goa Forest Department, Govt. of Goa.

Dr.(Mrs.) Shaila R. Ghanti, Assistant Professor in Department of Computer Science is appointed as Officiating Principal of the college

Dr.(Ms).Sameena Falleiro success fu l ly comple ted training on " Effective T e a c h i n g i n O n l i n e Environment" from 1st June to 11th June, 2020 by E d E x p e r t E d u c a t i o n a l Training & Consultancy, Mumbai. She also delivered a session as a Resource Person on "LMS Characteristics" d u r i n g t h i s t r a i n i n g programme.

Mr. Gajanan Nial, Assistant Professor has been issued Pass Certificates with scores for three of the NPTEL courses. Since NPTEL exams have been cancelled due to covid19, Completion/Pass Certificates have been issued based on assignment scores.

Mr. Abhishek Gudekar, Associate Professor,

M.Sc (IT) successfully completed the "The

BodhiTree and SAFE Tools for Effective Online

Teaching: A Hands-On Workshop" dated.

21.06.2020. It involved 3 days of video lectures

and hands-on work. This training was organised

by the Teaching Learning Centre (ICT) at IIT

Bomby, funded by the Pandit Madan Mohan

Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and

Teaching (PMMMNMTT), MHRD, Govt. of

India.

Dr.(Ms).Sameena Falleiro, successfully

participated in the 7 Day Faculty Development

Programme on "Institutional Benchmarking of

Best Practices" organized by 10 premier

Institutes of India from 8th June to 14th June,

2020.

Ms. Suchitra Bhat, Associate Professor attended

7 days FDP on “institutional Benchmarking of

Best Practices 8th-14th June 2020 ” organised by

Mallikarjun College , Cancona.

selected as “Hi-Potential Idea”.

Evaluation" on 9th June, 2020 in the 7 Day Faculty Development Programme on

"Institutional Benchmarking of Best Practices" organized by 10 premier Institutes of

India from 8th June to 14th June, 2020.

Dr.(Ms).Sameena Falleiro delivered two sessions on "Effective Use of ICT in the

Teaching - Learning" for the Open Day Webinar of Parvatibai Chowgule College of

Arts & Science, Autonomous, Margao,Goa on 19th June,2020.

Mr. Mahesh P. Matha, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science attended

a webinar on “IP Protection through patents, copyright and trademarks” that was

organized by Technology Information Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC),

an autonomous body of Department of Science & Technology, Govt of India, New

Delhi in association with Goa State Council of Science & Technology (GSCST),

Bardez, Goa during 23-26th June, 2020.

Ms. Ashweta Fondekar attended "EXPERT FDP Webinar Series on Effective Online

Teaching, Learning & Evaluation" On 23rd and 24th June 2020 organized by Centre for

Teaching and Learning (CTL), PCCAS.

Ms. Ashweta Fondekar attended House Faculty Training Series on “E-portfolio” on

25/06/2020 organized by Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) Parvatibai

Chowgule College of Arts & Science, Autonomous.
