A verb is a word that gives something action. It’s something that is done, performed, or carried out.

Examples: run, walk, jump, skip, skate, dance, bounce

I read all day yesterday.He balanced carefully on the tight rope.She studied with her friend for the quiz.

Every verb has a subject. To find the subject, ask, “Who or what did this verb?”

An adverb is a word that tells how, when, where, and how much. In grammar, we say that adverbs modify/describe verbs. Adverbs often end in –ly.

Jason quickly read the book.How did Jason read? Quickly.

Spatial: above, under, inside, outside, below, beside, beneath, along, against, between, near, across, onto, by, into, beyond, toward, through, in, off, on

Time: during, at, by, about, after, before
