Study Skills
Never regard studying as a duty. Schedule study time and a consistent place to study.
Use study tools such as a tape recorder, index cards , 2 colors of highlighters, study partners. Never feel badly about asking for accommodations. It’s your right and education.
Take short breaks in-between study periods. Cramming sessions usually don’t work for retention. A daily reminder will motivate you to reach your goal.
Pay attention to repetition or emphasis in statements . Teachers often give clues or hints .
Prioritize assignments and try to tackle the more involved or difficult ones first. Study when you are well rested. Incorporate study time into your calendar, I phone, I pad.
Taking good notes during class will save time later on when reviewing material. Attempt to get the speakers main points. Sit in the front of the class.
Ask questions if you need clarity. It saves time on reading to understand what a Teacher can clear up in a few min.
