Starting Points

• From Starting Points you can open a new word processing document or a scanned piece of reading material, read the web or scan a sheet


Task


1. Make sure STARTING POINTS is visible:

A talking word processor…(with word prediction)


3. Write your own mini-composition: “What is rewarding about your job?”

Try out the word prediction….use a unique font…..change line spacing etc.

Students can type their compositions…- Use word prediction, change the font size, spacing, and spell check

Opening an Existing Document

• When you open a text-based document with Kurzweil 3000 it opens in its native format (Word Doc)

• You can open image based documents such as TIFF or PDF documents

(you cannot work on/save to that original, and (Imported) is added to make the distinction that you're working on a copy)
