A national network of accredited establishments

In its desire to promote and facilitate the retraining of racehorses, the charity Au-Dela Des Pistes ensures daily the development of a quality network of reception facilities in France, in which equine well-being is the key word.

To be accredited by the Association, each structure must complete an application form, provide letters of reference and be visited by the Au-Dela Des Pistes teams to ensure that the infrastructures, food and care provided comply with the provisions established by the Equine Welfare Charter.

All accredited structures appear in a directory accessible on the charity’s website and are invited to the various events organised by Au-Dela Des Pistes, such as the Retraining of Racehorse Days.

This visibility allows them to make themselves known in order to increase their opportunities,

and offers racing professionals a range of reliable options for the management of their retired horses.


2020 EventsThrough its desire to promote the retraining of racehorses, Au-Dela des Pistes organises events throughout the year to demonstrate the potential of these athletes to adapt to all kinds of leisure and equestrian sports. These are called “Retraining of Racehorse Days”.

Retraining of Racehorses Days

• 5 events spread over the year at the racecourses of Deauville, Paris-Longchamp, Vichy, Auteuil and Chantilly

• Equestrian sports demonstrations by ex-racehorses between races

• An average of 10,000 clicks and views on the charity’s websites and social networks during each event

• Creates a meeting point for professionals and the public at the Au-Dela Des Pistes stand

• Events reported in the international equestrian press

Au-Dela Des Pistes Show-Jumping Competitions In order to promote the potential of former racehorses to be retrained to various equestrian disciplines and to assist in creating a demand for the breed, Au-Delà des Pistes will organise for the third consecutive year show-jumping and eventing competitions open exclusively to ex-racehorses across various regions of France. New in 2020, Dressage and show-jumping Derby competitions have been added to the calendar.

• Location Normandy, Paris region, South-West, South-East, Pays de la Loire

• Number of competitions - 6 events spread over the “Outdoor” season from March to September 2020 - 1 eventing test dedicated to ex-racehorses - 1 show jumping-Derby competition (cross country and show jumping fences combined in the same course) at the Bièves (91) arena at Brimborion Equitation - 2 dressage competitions reserved for ex-racehorses at the Boulerie Jump site in Le Mans (72) and at Bièvres (91) at Brimborion Equitation

• Statistics No less than 1,400 retired racehorses were registered in 2019 on the official FFE lists in the Amateur show-jumping discipline
