Men’s and Women’s Artistic Gymnastics is an Olympic discipline that features some of the most memorable moments in Olympic sport. The first Artistic World Championships was conducted in 1903, and today involves more than 75 nations from all five continents and averages between 7 – 17 days in length (8-10 competition days) in Octo-ber, with approximately 18 hours of “LIVE” televi-sion broadcast and 4 hours of highlight shows distributed to more than 100 countries.

The Trampoline World Championships and World Age Group Competitions average 14 days in length, (7-8 competition days), with more than 600 participants (athletes, officials and media) for the World Championships and 1100 participants (athletes and officials) for the World Age Group Competition, approximately 8 hours of “LIVE” television broadcast and 2 hours of highlight shows distributed to more than 100 countries.

The World Gymnaestrada is the largest participa-tion event organized by the FIG and takes place every 4 years. For one week, there are many different gymnastics performances staged with small or large groups (10-1,500 gymnasts), both indoors and outdoors. The World Gymnaestrada lasts 7 days, specificities are more than 20,000 participants, and approximately 4 hours of “LIVE” television broadcast and 2 x 55’ televised highlight shows distributed to 100 countries.Participation is for everybody, regardless of gender, age, race, religion, culture, ability or social standing.

Event SpecifiationsOpening Ceremony, Group Performances, Large Group performances,National Evenings, FIG Gala, Educational Forum and Closing Ceremony.
Venue• Opening and Closing Ceremony: open air arena with approx 25,000 seat capacity and 7,000 sq.m. (max 2 hours).• Group Performances: A minimum of 8 indoor arenas of approx 400 sq.m. 1,000 seat capacity per arena required.• Large Group Performances: open air arena of approx. 7,000 sq.m. 4,000 seat capacity required.• National Evening: 2 indoor arenas of approx. 800 sq.m. 1.5h event used by our National Federation to present the best of their gymnastics (Minimum 4,000 seat capacity for one of the arenas and min. 2,000 seat capacity for the other one).• FIG Gala: indoor arena of approx. 800 sq.m. 1.5h in which the FIG presents the best of Gymnastics for All and its interpretation by the FIG. minimum 4,000 seat capacity required, can be the same arena as the one used for National Evenigs (minimum 4,000 seat capacity).• Catering: The meal gall shall be an indoor facility, which has the capacity to cater for a large volume of participants at any one time.
Accommodation• Group accommodation shall mainly be in schools, or similar, equipped with appropriate sanitary facilities. Other accommodation possibilities can be offered.
Finances• 12% of the total amount of the entry fees will go to the FIG.• A budget of approximately CHF 20-25 M.
According to the agreement, a percentage of the Ticket sales is to be paid to the FIG.TV rights: national rights to National Federation, international rights to FIG.Marketing rights: All marketing, sponsoring and publicity rights belong to the NF.

The World Gym for Life Challenge is an Internatio-nal Contest for Gymnastics Groups. It is a Gymnas-tics for All event held every four years. The FIG Congress & General Assembly is the highest statutoryauthority of the Federation. The FIG Congress & GeneralAssembly is to be held every even year. 133 affiliated andassociated federations and 450 delegates are invited to attend.
For one week, the Host City will welcome successively:the Presidential Commission (1 day/14 participants),the Executive Committee (2 days/40 participants),the Congress (2 or 3 days / 400 - 500 approx. participants.)
The FIG Congress & General Assembly the year of theOlympic Games is an electoral Congress to designate thenew FIG Authorities for the new cycle.

The Council is the second highest authority of the FIG.The 44 elected members are responsible for carrying outthe following functions (abstract):
• To approve the annual accounts, budgets and taxes of competitions.• To ratify the acts of the Executive Committee.• To allocate the World Championships and the Gymnastics for All events.• To elect the Disciplinary Commission.
For one week, the Host City will welcome successively:the Presidential Commission (1 day /14 participants),the Executive Committee (2 days/40 participants),the Council (2 days / 60 delegates approx.).
