Partnership
What is REACH?
• Rigorous course of study
• Students are able to earn an associate degree as they
complete their high school diploma
Eligibility?
• Applicants must be in their 9th grade year
• Applicants must reside in the Hutto ISD attendance area
• Applicants must be college ready based upon TSIA scores
Why REACH?
• Want to attend college early…with little costs
• Want to get ahead in my career
• Motivated to challenge yourself with in-depth college level
course work
Who is in REACH?
• Summer after 9th: 1 DC class/Orientation
• 10th grader: 1 Dual Credit class each semester
• 11th and 12th grade: Full time student at Temple
College. On Fridays: Develop a project based
research project and Practicum in your field of study.
Apply
• Applications due – March 8, 2019
• Applications include:
• Student essays
• 2 educator recommendations
Apply
• A student/parent conference with the counselor is a
required part of the application process
• These conferences will be scheduled for all complete
applications received by the March 8th deadline in April.
Important Reminder
• UIL Sports and Academics, Fine Arts, and all other extra-
curricular activities may be negatively impacted by
enrollment in the REACH program
Dual Credit
• ALL Dual Credit regulations apply to REACH students
• Students are considered “adult students” for all courses
taken through Temple College
Credit Transfer
• College level courses may/may not transfer to the four-
year university/college of your choice.
• It is the responsibility of the student /parent to check for
transferability of credit .
Bacterial Meningitis
• Proof of vaccination or waiver by application deadline -
March 8th
DC/REACH Program
Grade must be a 70 or above for High School
credit.
Must pass your classes to stay in the program.
Drop a class / Fail a class – pay full tuition to
the Bookkeeper….out of the program…
Cost $$
$30.00 per class - per semester [$207]
Paid to HHS Bookkeeper only!
• Student must pay for Textbooks and any other fees.
