Phillip Jermann finally

reached his limit

when he weighed in at

252 pounds.

“And that’s just when I

finally weighed myself, so I

know I was more than that at

one time,” says Phillip. “I am the

laziest guy ever; I don’t like to

do exercise at all. I was even very

athletic in high school and then I went to

college and I just ballooned.”

Phillip, a biologist at the AIM corporate office in Nampa,

Idaho, began trying to lose weight around the time AIM was

developing AIM fit ’n fiber®, which provides a satiated feeling that

can help reduce appetite. Phillip took it regularly until the end of

2008 and lost about 20 pounds just from that one small change.

It wasn’t until fall of 2009, when his weight was still somewhere

in the 230s, that he decided it was time to really focus on losing

weight.

“At that time I started adding the ProPeas to the fit ’n fiber,”

says Phillip. “I added exercise to that and also started counting

my calories every day. In January (2010) I started to get into it

really hard, and I’ve been doing it from January

until now.”

Fortunately, Phillip had some extra motiva-

tion. From this past April to June, the employees

at the AIM corporate office held a weight-loss

contest. Phillip didn’t have the confidence to

participate in the company contest in 2009, but

this year he was already on his way to a health-

ier weight.

“Because I’m super competitive, as soon as

the fitness challenge started my first thought

was, ‘I am going to beat everybody.’ It helped to

keep me motivated for sure,” says Phillip.

Phillip began his exercise regime in January

by walking during his lunch breaks at work.

He would drive to a pond nearby and walk

around the track once or twice. Eventually,

one lap turned into two, and two turned into

three. From there he began to jog, and now he

runs from the AIM building to the track and jogs

almost five miles a day, five days a week.

Phillip won the office fitness challenge and is

now working on his long-term weight loss goals.

Though getting in shape wasn’t easy, his biggest

struggle with the lifestyle change was watching

what he ate.

“The diet was the hardest part,” says Phillip.

“I watch Food Network; I like to eat, I like to

cook, I like things to taste good. But I ate out all

the time and I ate the worst foods.”

Phillip has found that one of the best ways to

combat hunger is by using the ProPeas and the

fit ’n fiber at different times during the day. He

still eats regular meals,

but the products keep

him full and satisfied in

between.

“If I’m hungry

between breakfast and

lunch, I’ll make some fit ’n fiber with some ProPeas,” says

Phillip. “Or if I’m feeling hungry in the afternoon and I

want a snack, that’s when I take the products. So it’s not

at the same time every day, but I just use them when I feel

like my body needs it.”

Now Phillip has more energy and more self-confidence,

and only three pounds to go until he reaches his goal of

being 175 pounds. The best advice he can give to someone

hoping to follow in his footsteps is to use the products.

“Some people are taking maybe one product like Herbal

Fiberblend and they think that’s enough, but they don’t get

the satiety or that feeling of fullness,” says Phillip. “Then

when you add that to the ProPeas and you’re getting that

protein source that’s low in calories, it sustains you. So

you feel full from the fit ’n fiber and you have protein for

your body to burn … people don’t realize how much help

those two products are.

“There’s no such thing as a magic pill, so using those

products is the best thing to do. And the second is count-

ing calories. I’ve counted everything I’ve eaten since

January. I use free websites online to track my calories

every day.”

Phillip thinks it’s possible that some people try the two

products together and don’t see results right away, so

they stop using them. He emphasizes the importance of

understanding that weight loss doesn’t happen overnight.

“You’ve got to have some kind of plan,” says Phillip. “I’d

say to myself, ‘I need to write down what I’m putting in

my body, I need to take my products, and I need to burn

some of it off.’ Whether it’s taking the stairs instead of

the elevator, parking further away from the door at work,

or walking a mile every day … just do what you can do.”

Several pro

tein supple

ments are often

associated with bulking up, not

trimming down. That’s not the

case for AIM ProPeas®. Pea protein and amino acids

team up to tackle weight gain in three distinct ways:

increasing your feeling of fullness, boosting your

metabolic rate, and maintaining the body’s lean

muscle mass. These three factors are a healthy, safe

way to achieve the weight you want.

I have low blood sugar and I have a protein drink every morning. I’ve been hypoglycemic since 1970. Sugar is my enemy. I have tried many protein drinks in the past but none have kept my sugar as balanced as ProPeas. I have been trying to become 100 percent vegetarian, and

with my past protein products, that was impos-sible because my sugar would get so unbalanced and I would have to eat meat protein to get it in check again.

Since I have been on the ProPeas, my sugar stays level, and I am eating almost no meat products and have never felt better. Please don’t change the product!

Fitness challenge inspires weight loss and renewed AIM product useAIM’s fitness challenge gave

employees a perfect reason to commit to getting fit.

Although some – like AIM Accounting Specialist Connie

Compton – had plenty of motivation already.

I have high blood pressure,

and in January it spiked up

way, way high,” Connie says.

“I had a lot of different things

going on. I was moving, and

January is the toughest time

of year for my job. My chal-

lenge was to get my blood

pressure back down. Not

only did I do that, but I was

able to get off my blood pres-

sure medication entirely.

Before the fitness challenge, Connie’s blood pressure

measured in at 163 over 106 – an extremely high figure. Her

readings consistently improved throughout the challenge,

including a reading of 115 over 70 – leaps and bounds better

than when she began.

Not only was the blood pressure benefit a help, but losing

the weight also made a difference in other areas of Connie’s

life as well.

Once I got off the blood pressure medication, I could

exercise easier,” Connie says. “I know you’re healthier if

you weigh less, and I got to where I wasn’t having pain from

inflammation even. When you’re older, you get inflamma-

tion throughout your body and you hurt everywhere. It is

really miserable. And it aches. I got to where I didn’t have

aches and pains anymore.

Her weight loss strategy was equal parts

AIM products, healthy eating, and

exercise. Already taking a long list of

products, Connie added AIM ProPeas®

and AIM fit ’n fiber® in a regular

smoothie. Her breakfasts, lunches, and

dinners included smoothies,

fruit, vegetables, and pro

tein. She cut out sweets

entirely, and she

made a goal to

walk every

day.

At the

end of the fit

ness challenge, Connie had lost 20

pounds and fiveandahalf inches

off her waist.

For Connie, AIM products have

been an important part of her life for

years. Before she found AIM, Connie

had a thyroid condition that severely

impacted her health and lifestyle.

I could hardly function pre-AIM,” Connie

says. “I remember sitting at my desk and

thinking, ‘I don’t know if I can get myself home.’

Thankfully someone told me about AIM products.

I got started on AIM Herbal Fiberblend® and AIM

BarleyLife®, and I’ll tell you what,

it turned my life around.”

“I was a totally

different person

after that. It just

gave me that cell

energy that they

talk about. I was

like, ‘Woohoo!’ It was wonderful. And I’ve said

to people, I think it saved my life. I could hardly

do anything until I started BarleyLife and Herbal

Fiberblend.

AIM LeafGreens® took leaf nutrition

to a whole new level when it origi

nally debuted with spinach, pea, bean,

and barley leaves. The next generation of

LeafGreens takes it one step further with

the addition of broccoli sprouts.

Broccoli sprouts mark the beginning

of a new LeafGreens look that improves

the product in every way. LeafGreens

benefits from broccoli sprout’s phy

tochemicals that have the ability to work

with its other leaf nutrients to boost the

immune system. LeafGreens nutrition

has never been better.

But that’s not all. The next generation

of LeafGreens also comes with a lower

price and more servings. Each concen

trated powder canister of LeafGreens

contains a twomonth supply, and has a

$17.00 US savings over previous jars.

Plus, LeafGreens with broccoli is now

available in convenient capsule form.

Added nutrition, more servings, and a

lower price make LeafGreens an afford

able, effective green option. There’s no

arguing with the results.

As shared by AIM Director Deborah NilesCoffeyville, Kansas

Both of my adopted children are from completely different racial

backgrounds. My daughter is Asian and my son is Mexican and

Native American Indian. However, we all share our hearts with each

other as well as awesome dental reports.

That might not seem impressive, but since both children came from

less than stellar backgrounds, their excellent health is noteworthy.

Danielle has “perfect” teeth according to our dentist. Her teeth are

free of plaque and dental problems, and the dental hygienist spends

five minutes a year to clean her teeth. Samuel has never had any cavi-

ties and he receives a 10-minute cleaning once a year. My teeth receive

a mere seven minutes of cleaning per year. The hygienists ask about

our tooth and gum health annually. Each year I tell them that AIM

LeafGreens® keeps our pH balanced and that it nourishes our mouths

when we drink it. Although we practice sound dental care each day,

the only logical explanation for our consistently great dental reports

is the effectiveness of LeafGreens in our diet.

I’m 57 and have taken AIM BarleyLife® for over 15 years before

adding LeafGreens to my daily “drink.” A recent colonoscopy gave my

doctor pause. “Why is your colon so clean, straight, and healthy?” he

asked.

“Oh, every day I take BarleyLife, LeafGreens, and AIM Herbal

Fiberblend® to maintain my health!”

Killing

health feature

Life is made sweeter by sugar. A piece of luscious chocolate or a sumptu-

ous dessert makes a moment special. Enjoyed in moderation, such nutrition-ally deficient treats comfort you, espe-cially when you’re having a bad day.

You may say, “I don’t eat a lot of chocolate” or “I rarely eat desserts.” Even so, it’s likely that your diet contains far too much hidden sugar. The average American consumes around 160 pounds of sugar a year. How is this possible? The answer is in the kind of food that you eat.

Sugar is present in most foods. The problem lies in the excess of highly refined sugars used in so many common foods – bread, cereal, ketchup, and peanut butter just to name a few – along with the alltoonumerous processed and packaged food items that line supermarket shelves. And don’t forget the popularity of specialty coffees, soft drinks, and fruit juices, all of which contain large amounts of sugar. On top of this, if you eat out a lot, you can never be sure of how much sugar ends up in your meals.

Not So Sweet InflammationThe rapid increase of sugar (glucose) levels in

your blood can create inflammation. Sucrose (table sugar), dextrose (corn sugar), and highfructose corn syrup are examples of proinflammatory sugars found in common, processed foods (high glycemic). Such foods have the greatest impact on your blood sugar levels, giving you short bursts of energy and frequent hunger pangs.

The sugar in most

healthy food (low–mid glycemic), such as wholegrain bread,

whole oatmeal, and most vegetables, is released slowly into the bloodstream with little impact on your

sugar levels. Such foods provide sustained energy and make you want to eat less often.

If you are eating a diet of primarily highglycemic foods (see chart), then you are subjecting your body to continual inflammation. A steady diet of modern, proinflammatory foods has led to most of the leading health issues, such as high blood pressure, allergies, arthritis, heart disease, obesity, and diabetes.

The U.S. sugar industry claims that there is absolutely no evidence that sugar consumption is related to diseases such as obesity or diabetes. The truth is that diabetes is a chronic illness caused in part by high blood sugar levels. Body fat, inactivity, stress, and genetics are additional factors.

Not So Sweet Diabetes World Health Organization (WHO) statistics show that over

220 million people worldwide have diabetes. In 2005, an estimated 1.1 million people died from diabetes, but this number is likely higher because diabetes damages organs such as the heart and kidneys. Reported deaths by heart disease and kidney failure may have been the result of diabetes.

help to promote a healthy reduction of blood sugar levels and work synergistically with chromium.

For maintaining healthy blood sugar levels, GlucoChrom increases the effective action of insulin and helps your body to metabolize carbohydrates and fats – actions that are essential for preventing and controlling type 2 diabetes. Along with diet and exercise, supplementing with GlucoChrom can help to reduce body fat and increase lean muscle mass.

AIM makes it simple to supplement your diet with nutritious greens. From the juice powder of young barley plants, AIM BarleyLife® provides a natural source of easily absorbed vitamins, minerals, enzymes, antioxidants, phytochemicals, and chlorophyll. AIM LeafGreens® is a unique combination of four leafjuice powders – spinach, field pea, faba bean, and barley – plus broccoli sprout powder. LeafGreens harnesses the potency of each green component to provide superior levels of iron, chromium, protein, chlorophyll, and vitamins A and K – ideal for diabetic diets. BarleyLife and LeafGreens are alkaline green drinks that neutralize an acidic body system.

AIM Herbal Fiber blend®, AIM fit ’n fiber®, and AIM FibreBalance® (CAN) supplement your diet with healthy sources of fiber, a key dietary factor in controlling blood sugar levels.

For a balanced 2:1 ratio of omega3 to 6, AIMega® provides the essential fatty acids (EFAs) that your body needs on a daily basis for every one of your cells to function optimally. An EFA imbalance has been linked to diabetes.

Making the necessary lifestyle changes can make a dramatic difference to your health, and AIM provides the nutritional support to help make it happen.

The World Health Organization recommends that added sugars contribute no more than

10% of total calories. By that criterion, a person on a 2000-calorie diet should consume no more than 50 grams of carbohydrate in the form of sugar.

Check labels!• 4 grams of sugar = 1 teaspoon • 8 ounces of orange juice contains 21 g of sugar • 21 g sugar = 5 teaspoons of sugar!

99nutrition opportunity success / theaimcompanies.com

The sugar in food becomes stored energy through the effective action of the hormone insulin. If your body does not make or use insulin as required, blood sugar levels remain high. The result may be the onset of diabetes.

You may have a family history of diabetes, which only means you have an increased risk of being a diabetic as opposed to a guarantee of becoming one. Still, with the everincreasing number of cases, the likelihood is that more and more people are becoming diabetics primarily because of obesity, poor diet, and inactivity.

For over 28 years, The AIM Companies™ has promoted the importance of regular exercise and a healthy diet while offering supplementation through wholefood concentrates and natural health products.

The Sweetness of ExerciseOne of the best things that you can do for your health

is to exercise. Walking, working out, swimming, and doing aerobics are just a few examples. Choose something that you enjoy and stay committed because exercise reduces the stress factors in your life, helps you to manage your weight, boosts your energy, and perhaps most importantly, combats chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes.

The Sweetness of a Healthy Diet A healthy diet is all about healthy choices and quanti

ties. Eat five to seven small meals a day instead of three big meals. Choose roasted chicken and stay away from deep fried. Choose a side salad instead of a side of French fries. Eat daily servings of vegetables. When it comes to snacks, choose fresh fruit or nuts instead of a sweet dessert or a processed snack such as potato chips. As for beverages, choose the vitality that water provides and avoid sugarlaced drinks such as soda. A diet that provides good nutrition and reduces your daily intake of highglycemic foods is important to overall good health and absolutely essential for diabetics.

The Sweetness of SupplementationModern sources of food make it difficult to give your

body all of the daily nutrition required for sustained good health, so supplementation is the answer.

AIM GlucoChrom™ is a unique combination of two trace minerals – chromium and vanadium – and two herbs – gymnema leaf and bitter melon fruit. As much as 90 percent of

the North American population may be chromium deficient. One symptom of chromium deficiency is glucose intolerance, which may lead to diabetes. Chromium improves the body’s response to efficiently

use insulin. Vanadium, gymnema leaf, and bitter melon fruit

Be kind to your friends

Pretty toes once againShared by AIM Director Jan Minsk

of Dorchester, Massachusetts

The toenails on my big toes both curled under so that they met in the middle of my toe. It was not

only ugly, but I also had to go to a foot doctor to get my toenails clipped. I started soaking my feet in AIM Cell Wellness Restorer®, and after just a matter of weeks, my toenail went back to normal.

Cell Wellness Restorer is a natural bath addi-tive made with a blend of desalinated sea water and essential elements like magnesium, which help relax muscles and calm nerves. Cell Wellness Restorer is available to pur-

chase in 4-packs or 24-packs.

This testimonial should not be construed as representing results everybody can achieve.

Two of your friends have

been walked on throughout your lifetime. Be kinder to them and show them that you care.

You walk on them from the time you take your very first step. But do you ever give your feet any special care, or even a second thought? More often than not, it is only after you feel some foot pain that the health of your feet even crosses your mind. It’s time to be kinder to your feet a foot at a time.

You’re gonna carry that weight a long time … written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney over forty years ago as lyrics to a song that was most likely not about feet. But the words could be a slogan for foot health because your feet bear your weight for a lifetime. And since everything in your body is connected, weak and inflexible feet can be a factor in problems relating to your ankles, knees, hips, and back.

Exercising your friendsDid you know that there are simple exercises to keep

your feet in shape? In bare feet and while standing (or sitting if your feet hurt), move your feet, ankles, and toes. Try spreading your toes. Raise your big toe on its own while your other four toes remain on the ground, and then attempt the same thing in reverse with your big toe not moving. Pick up a small towel or cloth using your toes and then toss it like a football. Such exercises increase circulation in your feet and help to make them strong and flexible. As well, go for regular walks … and wear comfortable shoes.

Soaking your friendsTo pamper and loosen up your two friends, take a

soothing soak in AIM Cell Wellness Restorer® – a concentration of minerals, such as magnesium, in desalinated seawater. A foot bath works by allowing the Cell Wellness Restorer (CWR) to be absorbed through the large pores on the bottom of the feet and carried throughout your body in

the blood stream. Before taking a foot bath, wash both of

your feet. Then pour warm water into a container that comfortably fits both of your feet – enough to at least submerge your toes, but it can be deeper if you like. Add at least an

testimony

By Lorraine Grove, AIM Group Builder from Camrose, Alberta

My name is Lorraine S. Grove, and I have Multiple

Sclerosis (M.S.). I was lying in bed fairly regular;

the fatigue was really bad, no energy. My husband was

doing all the cleaning, cooking, and laundry, and driv-

ing me wherever I wanted to go. I was too tired to do

anything.

At this point I wasn’t sure what I was good for any-

more. Depression was always around the corner. I could

not take the M.S. medication; my body was not accepting

it at all. I was on depression medication for many years

prior to finding out about having M.S.

Then in January I met a very special lady named

Melanie. She was a Member of The AIM Companies™.

We got to talking about the health and wellness prod-

ucts, and it sounded very interesting, but I had tried so

many different types of health and good-for-you stuff, so

I wasn’t too interested at this time. But we did have an

enjoyable time visiting.

Don, another person I knew, came by my home three

days later with products in hand. “Would I please try

these products?” he asked. The sincerity and kindness I

saw in his eyes prompted me to say that yes, I would try

them one last time. I signed up under Don that day to

receive the products wholesale.

I can honestly say that day became the best day of my

life. Within two days, I began getting results and feeling

stronger. I no longer spend my days in bed watching TV.

First to leave was the heaviness, the fatigue. The walker

was put back in the basement with the wheelchair. Neither

is needed anymore.

Other things started changing as well, too many to

put down on paper. A person doesn’t realize how out

of whack you are or how truly ill you were until you put

good nutrition back into your body. How many people are

out there who think their bodies are okay the way they

are when all it takes is a little time and effort to make your

life even better?

I’m back in the kitchen cooking again. I’m driving my

car again and doing my own laundry. My husband is still

helping with the heavier stuff in the home, bless his heart.

I still tire, but it’s a good tired.

I was only going to buy products for myself. I could not

see me doing a business, but things just grow when you

share a good thing. I now work two farmers markets, and

I help at a third market once in awhile.

I have been taking these products for seven months

now and have 19 people under me. When the word just

gets around that the products are truly amazing, only

great things can happen. The products I started on that

changed my life: AIM BarleyLife®, AIM Just Carrots®,

AIM RediBeets® (AIM Garden Trio®) AIM Herbal

Fiberblend®, AIM Herbal Release®, and AIMega®.

fragile

health feature

In the 2000 movie Unbreakable, Bruce Willis’s inde

structible character was slowly revealed by the actions

of Samuel Jackson’s breakable character, who suffers from

osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) – a rare, genetic disorder that

made his bones extremely fragile. Almost everyone with

OI has the alltoocommon osteoporosis because they

never develop proper bone mass. Such breakable characters

experience a lifetime of fragile bones.

Around 10 million Americans have osteoporosis. Almost

34 million more are estimated to have low bone mass, plac

ing them at increased risk for osteoporosis – a disease that

makes bones thin and porous. The more porous bones get,

the more fragile they become.

If you think of your bones as a bridge that supports your

weight throughout a lifetime, you certainly do not want

holes to appear in the structure of your bridge. But that

is exactly what happens with osteoporosis. And a fall can

lead to a debilitating fracture, especially for someone in

their senior years. Such an injury can take a very long time

to heal, which means long periods of inactivity – a factor

that exacerbates the disease.

Risk Factors of Osteoporosis Being physically inactive, which is a common side effect

of the modern lifestyle or perhaps pure laziness, contrib

utes to the onset of osteoporosis. When you are physically

active, your bones respond positively to the increased load

on their structure by forming new bone. Your arms, legs,

and back need physical activity to maintain the strength of

their bone structure.

A diet with insufficient amounts of calcium, vitamin D,

and other nutrients integral to bone health and the absorp

tion of calcium is an osteoporotic recipe for disaster. A

longterm deficiency means that your body has to steal the

existing calcium from your bones for muscle contraction,

nervous system function, hormone secretion and other

functions.

This is why osteoporosis is known as the silent thief.

And you don’t even realize it is happening unless you break

or fracture a bone or take a bone density test, which indi

cates whether you have osteoporosis or are at risk of devel

oping this disease. The lower your bone mineral content,

the less dense your bones are and therefore more likely to

break or fracture.

Other factors include too much caffeine, which is a

diuretic that makes you lose more calcium because of more

frequent urination. Alcohol is a diuretic as well, but it also

has a toxic effect on the liver and may interfere with the

absorption of calcium. A smoking habit also reduces your

body’s ability to absorb this vital mineral. For women who

smoke, this unhealthy habit can put you into menopause as

much as five years earlier. Menopause is another factor in

bone loss because of the reduced levels of estrogen, which

plays an important role in the building and maintaining of

bone mass.

The Bone-Building CycleYour bones are always under construction. In other

words, your skeleton is continually worked on by two

types of constructionworker cells. Osteoclasts excavate

and remove bone material, and osteoblasts rebuild your

bones. Osteoporosis is the result of an imbalance of this

workforce: Too many excavators on the job and not enough

rebuilders. The rebuilders need accessible calcium to do

their job, and your job is to make sure that you are giv

ing your body the building materials that are essential for

healthy, strong bones.

Avoiding Fragile BonesYou need absorbable amounts of calcium and the nutri

ents that assist its absorption on a daily basis. This can

UNBREAkABLE

Avoiding bones, maybe even become

come from your diet in foods such as spinach, broc

coli, eggs, and lowfat dairy products. But as you age,

calcium becomes more difficult to absorb, so you may

not be getting enough even though you are eating

well.

Everyone that has reached a certain age has heard

of the importance of taking a calcium supplement to

ensure that you are getting enough of this vital min

eral. But the truth is that all calcium supplements are

not created equal.

The Physicians’ Desk Reference states it best:

AIM offers the perfect formula for absorbable

calcium.

The CalciAIM™ SolutionCalciAIM™ provides three forms of calcium –

lactate, gluconate, and carbonate – in a powder that

you mix in water for the most absorbable form of cal

cium. Water dissolves the powder into a solution that

essentially digests the mineral for you. But there is

much more in the CalciAIM formula to support the

absorption of calcium and contribute to the health of

your bones and body.

CalciAIM provides magnesium,

vitamin D, zinc, and llysine, all of

which assist with the uptake of cal

cium. Magnesium is involved in hun

dreds of biochemical reactions that

take place in your body. Zinc is also

part of the CalciAIM formula because not getting

enough of this mineral can increase the risk of devel

oping osteoporosis. Vitamin D is essential for overall

good health and for the prevention of osteoporosis.

Llysine is an amino acid that is involved in the forma

tion of collagen, a protein found in skin, tendons, car

tilage, bone, and other connective tissue. Additionally,

the powerful antioxidant vitamin C works with llysine

in the building and maintenance of cartilage – the lin

ing of bone joints.

More Support for Your Bones

Greens and essential fatty acids

provide supplemental nutrition

that you require to maintain the

health of your body and its supporting bone structure.

Alkalinizing green drinks such as AIM BarleyLife® and

AIM LeafGreens® are rich plant sources of vitamin K, which

is vital for healthy bones.

The omega3 and 6 essential fatty acids of AIMega® are

a daily necessity for good health because they are integral

to the structure and functioning of every cell in your body.

Furthermore, a 2007 study conducted at the Department of

Integrated Biosciences at Penn State University revealed that

an increase of dietary omega3 decreases bone resorption – the

process involving the cells that excavate in the bonebuilding

cycle.

Fragile bones can be a rare condition or something that is

only seen in the movies. And the proper approach to keeping

your bones healthy can go a long way in making them strong

and on the way to unbreakable.

AIM for healthy bonesIt’s never too late to give your frame a help-

ing hand. Supporting bones, cartilage,

teeth, and gums, CalciAIM is a supplemen-

tal helping hand for women and men from

the ages of 12 on up.

In April 2009, I had bone density testing.

I was showing a significant amount of

bone loss and was forewarned that once

it begins, bone loss can advance very quickly like a down-

hill slide (toward osteoporosis). I began taking one scoop

of CalciAIM in my AIM Garden Trio® each morning. A year

later, I was tested again. I am in normal and above normal

ranges. I didn’t change my diet in any way except I added

a smoothie with AIM fit ’n fiber® and AIM ProPeas® at least

once a day.

approximately 98 percent of its bioavailable calcium.

I have had a benign cyst on

my back near the top of

my left shoulder for quite

some time.

It became infected, very

red looking, large, and painful. I had it lanced in the doc-

tor’s office and figured it would just heal on its own. What

I did not realize was how deep the cyst was and how big

a hole it had left.

As we live in the country, a nurse came daily to clean the

wound and do the dress-

ing. The first day she told

me that it was very deep

and would definitely take at

least 6 weeks if not more

to heal. She also told me

there was a high risk that

it would become infected

as wounds of this nature

usually do. The nurse sug-

gested that to speed up the

process I should be having

extra protein, and she rec-

ommended that I eat lots of sausage! “Not about to hap-

pen in our home!” said my wife Darlene.

My wife and I have been AIM members for many years.

She suggested that in addition to taking my one table-

spoon of AIM BarleyLife® in the morning that I also take

another tablespoon in the afternoon. This would help

with inflammation in the wound area. Darlene also sug-

gested that I take AIM ProPeas®, AIM’s vegetable pro-

tein, much better than the sausage idea. I decided to take

her advice.

The wound was completely healed in four weeks; there

was no infection at any time. There was a rotation of two

nurses, and both of them were amazed at how quickly

healing took place, especially the fact that infection did not

develop. Thanks, AIM, for quality products that work!

I was standing on a chair putting something on a shelf

(probably not the safest method) and when I stepped

down I banged my right leg on the side just below the

knee on the edge of the chair. I must have hit a blood

vessel because almost immediately I felt a huge swelling

on my leg; it looked quite ugly.

I immediately put some ice on it and then thought,

what AIM products can help with this? I remembered

that where there is injury there are also free radi-

cals and the AIM product that is full of antioxidants is

AIM Proancynol® 2000.

I immediately increased my

intake of Proancynol 2000

to two capsules three times

per day. I also started soak-

ing my leg in AIM Cell Wellness Restorer™ every

day and also applied it topi-

cally. I was already taking

BarleyLife, and I contin-

ued with my usual amount.

Normally with this kind

of injury the leg area would

be very painful until the

swelling went down. As the blood vessel returned to

its normal state I had no pain, nor did I have pain if I

touched it. Less than a week after the incident, my leg

was normal.

In the past, AIM products helped me recover from

fibromyalgia, and once again I was not dis-

appointed in the results of the products.

I am so thankful that God has given me

the opportunity to help others with

their health through AIM, and I know

through personal experience

that they help me, too! Thanks,

AIM.

Pain depleted with CellSparc 360 (CoQ10)

When I complained to a pharmacist

that I was suffering a lot of muscle

pain, especially in my upper back, neck,

and arms (which I assumed was arthritis),

he suggested I try coenzyme Q10.

I can only say that I have very little pain to complain

of since I started taking it. I commenced with a

product from the pharmacy but later switched to

the AIM product. I find one or two capsules a

day of the AIM CellSparc 360® does the trick

compared to three or four of the other product.

I signed up for AIM’s Automatic Monthly Reorder

(AMR) and receive my two bottles per month that way.

The relief of muscle pain is well worth it.

– John Hake, AIM Preferred Member,

Parry Sound, Ontario

On May 6, 2010, my plans for the summer took a

rather unexpected turn. I have lived most of my life

with the moniker of being “accident prone,” and at age 35,

although I haven’t had anything serious happen in the last

10 plus years, it seems I was due. After a fall that resulted

in my “football tackling” a tree, x-rays proved that I had

broken my collarbone in two places.

As an avid golfer and overall sports

enthusiast, there could not have

been worse news for me. April in

Southwestern Ontario had been unsea-

sonably warm, and I had been able to

not only knock the rust off of my golf

game but after nine rounds I was playing

to my normal “mid-season” form. The orthopaedic sur-

geon I met with the day after my injury hinted at surgery

to reconstruct my collarbone. After some serious delib-

eration, we elected to give the bone six weeks to see how

it would heal on its own. Anyone who has broken this

particular bone will attest to the pain and immobility it

creates. For two weeks I was unable to drive my beloved

“summer car” as it is a 5-speed convertible that requires

arm movement I just did not have.

I was told by both my surgeon and my kinesiologist to

put my golf clubs away for the year and to talk to the man-

agement at my course about my membership fees being

rebated.

I am not one to take things lying down, and when my

mother (an AIM Member for many years) told me that she

had products that she thought would help in my healing

process I figured, what do I have to lose? Mom drop-shipped

me a supply of AIM BarleyLife® Xtra and CalciAIM™

with instructions as to their use. I am a skeptic at the best

of times, but really wanted to get back to my lifestyle and

golf game as soon as I could!

I used both products as suggested by Mom, and upon

my six-week anniversary of the accident, I went back to

the surgeon to see if I would be entering the rehab phase

of my injury or if I would be facing surgery. The surgeon

was shocked by the progress that my shoulder was mak-

ing but mostly by the density of the new bone that was

Back in the game with BarleyLife Xtra and CalciAIMforming around the multiple frac-

tures … surgery was off the table

and it was time to hit the rehab

full on!

The physical strengthening of the muscles and re-train-

ing of the arm was a process that took many weeks, but

as the muscles got stronger, so did the bone. I was start-

ing to be able to do push-ups and strength exercises that

mere weeks prior I would have thought impossible!

On July 26, 2010, I was given the green light to start

golfing again, only 13 weeks after being told I was done for

the year! I now have three months left in our golf season

and am very glad that I did not cancel my membership!

I am convinced that thanks to a lot of hard work and

the AIM supplements that I am not only ahead of my

recovery expectations, but that I crushed those expecta-

tions! Thank you for your products, you have turned a

skeptic into a believer! Keep up the good work!

AIM for a Healthy Life Seminar September 10, 2010 • Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

Over 70 people attended the AIM for a Healthy Life seminar. Co-sponsored by AIM Canada™ and AIM Director Janet Breitkreutz, who was also the emcee, this meeting featured testimonials from AIM Director Len Twigge and Group Builder Glenda Nelson. Rose Bird, chartered herbalist and general manager of AIM Canada, was the guest speaker. Although scheduled to end at 9 p.m., enthusiasm was so high that attendees lingered for an additional two hours to discuss natural health and share more testimonials.

AIM Directors Bob and Sue Celski and Preferred Member Judy del Fierro hosted home meetings

in Federal Way and Renton on August 17 and 18, respectively. Special guests were Opal Wright and Linda Charters from Idaho. Bob and Sue shared their testi-monials of the AIM products and

the benefits they have received to a packed house. The audience were also the recipients of the knowlege Opal has gained from her experiences on the importance of colon health. Linda fol-

lowed up with information on a few of the products pertaining specifically to the colon. Bob’s special blend for the smoothies and his son J.R.’s favorite drink of AIM Peak Endurance® and CalciAIM™ were served. The attendees left with a newfound knowledge of what makes good health and how much The AIM Companies™ have to offer.

they helped to heal my back and leg almost immediately.

My AIM regimen consisted of:

• a AIM Cell Wellness Restorer™ bath every morning

• 6 AIM Frame Essentials® (2 capsules 3 times per day)

• 6-9 AIM Proancynol® 2000 capsules (2 or 3 capsules

3 times per day)

• 6-8 tsp. of BarleyLife daily

I used well over the recommended

dosages since my body was in what

I call emergency healing mode

and required therapeutic levels.

I also had a healthy diet

– no processed foods.

While taking my daily

Cell Wellness baths,

I did visual imagery

– mentally picturing

the disc fragment

breaking up.

Although my

back pain was

intense and I was literally dragging my leg behind me, I

did not take any drugs, not even one Motrin from that day

on, just AIM products. Gradually my symptoms started to

subside and I was able to start walking again slowly.

The same day I started taking AIM products, I went for

an MRI that showed that the disc was compressing almost 80

percent of my sciatic nerve. I heard from someone who had

a herniated disc that compressed only about 30 percent of

his sciatic nerve. He said his back pain was “mindblowing”

and had been on two different painkillers for two months.

After taking AIM supplements for a few weeks, my pain

was drastically reduced. Initially crawling on the floor in

pain, I was now walking down the block with just a slight

limp. Although the back pain was subsiding, I still felt

intense spasms and numbness in my leg, so I went to the

doctor.

First I saw a spine specialist and then a neurosurgeon.

Both doctors were shocked that I could even walk, wasn’t in

excruciating pain, and still had bladder and bowel control.

They had expected to see me roll in on a wheelchair because

In early 2010, I went through a very traumatic event that

reaffirmed my belief that given the proper natural treat

ment the body can heal and repair itself and that pain can

be practically eliminated without the use of medication.

It all started with sciatica, a common condition that

results in pain caused by pressure on the

sciatic nerve. Since this nerve extends

from the lower back down both legs,

pain radiates in these parts of the

body.

In my case, I was suf

fering from severe sci

atica for about

six months.

One day, I was

up on a lad

der trimming

hedges (word

of advice –

balancing on

a ladder while

holding a power tool is not a good idea – back pain or

not). A few days later, as I was leaning over to get into a

car, a disc in my back ruptured (like jelly squirting out of

a donut!). The pain was so intense it felt as though some

one had slashed me with a knife and poured hot oil down

my leg! I immediately turned pale and almost fainted. I

couldn’t move an inch in any direction, so I was rushed by

ambulance to the hospital.

In the ER, I was given painkillers, a cortisone shot, and

valium. Since I had been taking AIM BarleyLife® regu

larly for almost a year before the injury, I decided to stop

taking all the drugs, including Motrin, after just two days.

I’m the type of person who doesn’t even take an aspirin for

a headache.

Instead, I called my very helpful mentor Dr. YuShiaw

Chen (certified nutritionist and AIM Chairman’s Club

Director), who gave me a testimony about how AIM prod

ucts helped heal a back injury and recommended which

products to use. I started taking AIM supplements and

AIM supplements helped dissolve my disc fragmentmy MRI was in the top five percent of the worst

cases they’d ever seen. I explained to each doctor

that my MRI no longer represented what I was

feeling in my body because I was taking sup

plements and believed they were breaking up

the fragment and healing the ruptured disc.

Of course they all but laughed me off. They

didn’t believe that the disc fragment could

break up that easily and quickly, if at all.

They recommended surgery.

At the doctor’s office, I had spoken to

the patient whose disc was compress

ing about 30 percent of his sciatic nerve

and found out he had had surgery, which

immediately took his back pain away and

he was walking the same day. Since I also

had nerve dysfunction, both doctors told me

if left untreated, my disc could slip out even

more at the slightest movement and cause

more severe nerve damage that could take

years to heal or possibly be permanent. The

neurosurgeon sounded so confident he could get

rid of my back pain and the nerve issues in my

leg that despite my fear and hesitation, two days

later I went in for the supposedly halfhour surgical

procedure.

As soon as I woke up from the anesthesia, the sur

geon was standing over me to tell me the “bad” news.

First, he was amazed to find there wasn’t a big disc

fragment in there as the MRI had shown, only little

pieces. Just as I predicted, my natural healing regimen

was working, although he’d never admit to that!

Unfortunately, because they were looking for that

big piece, they were in there picking at my nerve for

over two hours. So after the surgery, I was even in

more pain than from the original injury. It felt like

someone had smashed my back with a hammer,

and the nerve in my leg was so irritated, it was

misfiring, causing even worse pain and cramping

than before.

Once again, I went off all medication only a few days

after surgery and resumed my AIM product regimen. I

also added AIM Composure® to help soothe my nerve

irritation and CalciAIM to help rebuild and strengthen

my bones. Today my back pain is completely gone, my

leg is almost a hundred percent healed. I’m walking

without a limp now, even running.

To this day, the surgeon believes the disc “broke off”

and is still floating somewhere in my back. He actually

wanted to do another surgery, but I haven’t seen him

since the initial stitches came out. I don’t plan on going

back.

To review my AIM regimen, each of the products

I am taking had a specific purpose in my healing

process:

Cell Wellness Restorer has magnesium, which

helped soothe my muscle spasms and back pain. I took

that bath every single morning without exception. I

couldn’t walk unless I did.

I also took Proancynol 2000 for the antioxidants it

provided. The damage to my disc was creating free rad

ical damage on a cellular level and since antioxidants

neutralize free radicals, I think these nutrients deserve

much of the credit, along with BarleyLife in helping

dissolve that disc. Besides antioxidants, the nutrients

and enzymes in BarleyLife helped speed the healing

process and reduce inflammation.

Frame Essentials contains glucosamine, MSM and

boswellia – natural, antiinflammatory ingredients with

no side effects, so I didn’t need painkillers.

Since I’m currently studying to be a nutritionist and

health coach, I’m learning so much about the amaz

ing healing capacity of the body and how much of it

depends on proper nutrition. I’m so glad I had AIM

products to help me through this healing journey and to

witness this incredible process firsthand!
