INSTANT ACCESS TO PRECISE WEATHER DATA.Researchers, educators and students can easily pinpoint where and when severe weather will arrive, tracking storms manually or with automated tools that instantly identify areas under the greatest threat.

Baron provides a suite of value-added data products that help researchers and students accurately predict areas of snow, flooding, tornadoes and other inclement weather. All weather data is precise, and shows hyper-local conditions that can make a big difference in overall weather preparedness.

• Quickly determine the probability of a tornado with the Baron Tornado Index (BTI). A scale of 1-10 defines the level of possible tornado activity during a storm.

• Utilize patented dual-pol technology to detect debris carried aloft by tornadoes on the ground.

• Accurately detect/track flooding and potentially tornadic wind shear.

• Track the development of hail with Baron’s unique dual-pol hail products, each with built-in refinements that provide a sharper picture of the phenomena.

High-quality weather graphics through the Omni platform help illustrate a weather story quickly and efficiently. Students can access a highly flexible weather graphics system that can be used for weather monitoring, analysis and training, helping them prepare for on-air weather careers.

RADAR TECHNOLOGY CUSTOMIZED TO YOUR NEEDS.Since 2004 Baron has been a pioneer of dual-polarization research and technology. Our innovation allows observers to analyze weather targets in both horizontal and vertical orientations, enabling highly accurate measurements of precipitation.

We are known as aggressive innovators that build solutions customized to your specific needs and budget. Select a system that is tailored to your desires with user-defined transmitter, wavelength and wattage specifications. Baron can provide installations in C, S or X-band transmission with radar in fixed, mobile or transportable versions.

Our systems have been used by universities and government entities for education, research and experience.

• In a partnership with L-3 STRATIS, we upgraded 171 NEXRAD systems for the U.S. Department of Defense, Federal Aviation Administration and National Weather Service to dual-polarization, making Baron an intrinsic part of the country’s weather infrastructure.

• Students at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) use Baron’s ARMOR dual-polarimetric radar in both research and classroom environments to gain valuable experience.

• The mobile X-Band MAX radar is a part of a UAH project named the Tornado and Hurricane Observations and Research (THOR) activity. It is an important part of the program’s success with severe weather research and documentation.

Custom Push NotificationsWhen campus safety is a concern, Baron app users can be alerted of inclement weather, campus safety concerns, school closings and more. Create and send personalized messages to users of Baron’s mobile app with the custom push notifications tool. Easily identify which users or group of users should receive specific alerts.

Automated Weather AlertingAdministration, students and faculty can stay safe with Baron alerts. Receive location- specific alerts for severe thunderstorms and potential tornadoes directly to your phone through Baron’s mobile app. This alerting capability is already available statewide to residents of Alabama as the state’s response to the deadly tornadoes of April 27, 2011.
