Aga Khan Rural Support Program(AKRSP)
AKRSP is involved in community infrastructure development in the Northern Areas and Chitralsince 1982. They have initiated more than 2,000 CPI projects to date, for benefit of 130,000
households. Out of these 1,980 projects have been completed. The projects include mainly irrigationschemes, roads, bridges, flood protection bunds, drinking water supply schemes in addition to theseone microhydel project has been completed. Most of these projects are productive, especially
irrigation schemes (about 53% of the total number of projects) which enhanced the assets of thepoor rural households by providing additional land for agricultural production.

Community Uplift Program ( CUP)
Community Uplift Program (CUP) was established as a socialwelfare organization. One of the major objectives of the CUPis to help disadvantaged and marginalized communities
particularly women and children in reducing their poverty

Development Action for Mobilization and Emancipation (DAMEN)
DAMEN was registered under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 with Joint Stock Companies,
Punjab, Lahore on 21st May'92.It is relatively small but emerging institution that has been in operation since 1992, with a steadygrowth and has been able to achieve high degree of specialization in microfinance. It works

Green Circle Organization (GCO)
Green Circle Organization (GCO) was established as a social welfare organization, registered under
the Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies Ordinance 1961 since May , 1994. GCO has a strongpresence in more than 100 villages of Tehsil Depalpur,Distt. Okara and Tehsil Jaranwala, Distt.Faisalabad through its Community Based Organizations( CBOs).

Introduction
HANDS aims at providing basic health services, primary
education, income generation opportunities and development
of institutions to empower the underprivileged communities.
HANDS has been pouring its untiring efforts for empoweringand strengthening the communities to deal with the issues
directed towards poverty alleviation. The vision, mission and

The Himalayan Wildlife Foundation ( HWF) is a non-profit,non governmental organization dedicated to safeguard the

SOS Childrens Village
SOS Childrens Village (Pakistan) is a private socialwelfare organization, registered under the VoluntarySocial Welfare Agencies (Registered and Control)Ordinance 1961 since September, 1975. Theorganization is dedicated to the care of orphans andabandoned children. SOSs main projects include SOSChildrens villages, SOS Rural Development Program,SOS Youth facilities, SOS Primary and Secondary leveleducation and SOSs Technical Training Institutes andHealth Centers. SOS started working in the area of

Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO)
Introduction
SRSO is part of the Rural Support Programs Network and is
the provincial RSP providing integrated services in micro
credit, infrastructure and education, working at grass root
level on provincial level. SRSO is involved in communityinfrastructure development in seven districts of Sindh
province (Sukkur, Khairpur, Ghotki, Shikarpur, Jacobabad,
Shahdadkot and Nosheroferoz) since 2002. They haveimplemented 50 infrastructure projects in view of the need of
the communities. These projects mainly include; Drinking
Water Supply, Sanitation and Irrigation. Total cost of theseprojects is Rs. 25.495 million. These projects are planned to
benefit 3,260 households and 22,710 persons.

Save The Poor (STP)
Save the Poor (STP) was established in 2002 as an offshoot ofTaraqee Trust (TT). After separation from TT in February2004, it was registered in April 2004 as a non-government

Village Friends Organization (VFO)
Village Friends organization (VFO) was established in 1988as a local initiative to check river erosion by implementingflood protection works. The organization was registered in
1993 under Societies Registration Act 1860. VFO is a non-
profit, non governmental organization whose main purpose is
to assist the people particularly those who are lacking skilland potential to do so. VFO has been involved in the areas of
Agriculture, Physical Infrastructure, Micro-credit, Community
