PARTNER MAPPING
June 2017
TABLE OF CONTENTS
• Methodology
• Total Health Cluster partners: numbers and
location
• Global partners’ engagement
• Partners by Country Health Clusters
METHODOLOGY
Partner mapping was undertaken between June and July 2017. Country Health Cluster
Coordinators were asked to provide lists of their partners, categorized into: International NGO;
National NGO; UN Agency; National Authority; Donor; Others; and Observers. Others included
academic institutions, private companies, and the IFRC. Observers included MSF and the
ICRC.
Each of these lists were then examined to ensure consistent categorization, such as MSF being
an observer rather than a partner International NGO. Acronyms were converted into full form
names consistent across lists. Alternative spellings and language forms of organization names
were homogenized. A total list was then compiled, from which duplicate entries were removed,
for example, Save the Children, despite working in 13 countries, was only counted once.
Country divisions of international organizations (MSF Holland, MSF Spain, Swedish Red Cross,
Finnish Red Cross) remained separate.
Niger and Turkey were unable to provide named lists of partners, so whilst their numbers
individually have been listed, they were not added to the total, cross-referenced list.
These figures were accurate at time of production but do not attempt to represent ever-
changing partner numbers, instead providing an impression of partner make-up across
countries.
These figures produced a total of 711 country partners (excluding Niger and Turkey). Of our 49
Global Partners, whose data is calculated separately, not all were active within countries
