Our Experiment
To study the movement of particles, our group did anexperiment to study which particles were too big todiffuse through the balloon membrane and which
were small enough to pass through
Aim: To study the diffusion of particles
Hypothesis: Particles can diffuse through a medium, depending on it’s size

Risk AssessmentGlass
May break and shards may injure
Dispose of shards in bin
Air Freshener
May cause fire
Keep away from open flames an keep at low temperatures
Liquids ( Milk, Vinegar, Lemon Juice etc.)
May cause spillage
Keep away from papers and electronic devices

Evaluation
If the experiment was to be repeated…..
By using a card of a fixed diameter, we could have balloons of thesame size.
Why? The size of the balloon determines if the particles can passthrough the membrane of the balloon
Try the experiment again in a controlled environment such as
turning off fans and air conditionersWhy? The temperature affects the movement of the particles, thusaffecting it’s ability to diffuse through the balloon.
