Mr. Ahmad Kamal is currently serving as Member (DRR) at National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Pakistan. He has over 25 years of experience in the field of disaster management, water resource management, and flood management with focus on both structural and non-structural interventions. He represents NDMA at several national and international forums as well as acts its official spokesperson. He has studied Civil Engineering Hydrology & Environmental Management.

2. Airlie Taylor

Ms. Airlie Taylor is the Consortium Manager for the Myanmar Consortium for Community Resilience, a 6-member consortium led by ActionAid supporting the institutionalization of inclusive community-based DRR in Myanmar. Prior to moving to Myanmar, Airlie worked with ActionAid UK on institutional funding and with ActionAid’s International Humanitarian Team in communications and information management. She holds a degree in Spanish and Portuguese from Nottingham University, UK.

Mr. Am Phirum is currently the Deputy Director at the Department of Agricultural Land Resources Management in Cambodia. With a master’s degree in Agriculture, he has acquired knowledge and experience in climate change adaptation, mitigation and disaster risk reduction in the agriculture sector. His technical expertise is within the areas of soil conservation, integrated nutrient management, integrated pest management and agro-meteorology. Mr. Am Phirum is a member of the Climate Change Technical Team (CCTT) as well as a member of the Technical Review Team on National Action Plan for UNCCD.

4. Aminath Shooza

Ms. Aminath Shooza is currently working with UNDP as Programme Associate in Male, Maldives. For the past 13 years, she has been working on Environment and Energy related projects. Ms. Aminath is leading the implementation of Disaster Risk Reduction projects of UNDP in Maldives. She has also been selected as UNDP’s innovation Ambassador for Asia Pacific. Ms. Aminath is focusing on finding innovative options to address disaster related work in the country.

5. Amelie Yan Gouiffes

Amelie spent 17 years working in humanitarian aid and disaster risk reduction with NGOs, Red Cross movement, UN and ECHO. With the same commitment to relieve suffering and to contribute to making the world a better place, she now dedicates to life and leadership coaching, public speaking and training. She believes that when people are supported to unleash their full potential and to shine, they bring to the world happiness, greatness and contribution.

Ms. An Un Gyong is currently working as Admin/Finance Assistant and Focal Point for Gender with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. Prior to joining FAO, Ms. Gyong has worked with Ministry of Commerce and also with the UN World Food Programme as Local Food Production Assistant.

Angeline has been supporting the knowledge and information management initiative of the IFRC South-East Asia Regional Delegation. She has worked in a similar assignment for the French Red Cross in Indonesia. Coming from legal and human rights educational background, Angeline finds that she never stops learning !

Mr. Andrew Schroeder is the Director of Research and Analysis for Direct Relief, where he has been recognized by Esri and others for his work in applied geographic information systems (GIS) for global health and humanitarianism. He is a member of the core organizing group for UAViators and coordinator of the Humanitarian UAV Working Group for Nethope.

Anne E. LECLERC is a humanitarian professional with over twenty-four years’ experience in the field of international development and relief programs. She has been working in South and South East Asia, North and West Africa as well as in Europe. She has recently served as Head of North Africa Region (2003-2010) before joining South East Asia. She is currently the Head of Regional Office for South East Asia.

10. Anthony De La Cruz

Mr. Anthony de la Cruz is the Regional Specialist for Environment and Disaster Risk Reduction with the UN Volunteers Regional Headquarters for Asia and the Pacific. Prior to that, he worked with the UN Coordination Office and Handicap International in the Philippines in post-crisis rehabilitation and recovery, disaster risk reduction/climate change adaptation, land administration and solid waste management.

Mr. Armen Grigoryan is the Disaster Risk Reduction Team Leader and Regional Advisor at the UNDP Istanbul Regional Hub. He has 20 years of experience working in the United Nations in Europe and CIS. 13. Aslam Perwaiz

Mr. Aslam Perwaiz is the Head of Department of Disaster Risk Management Systems at the Asian Disaster preparedness Center (ADPC) in Bangkok, Thailand. He has been working with ADPC since 2005. Having worked in the development sector for more than twenty years, he has extensive experience of disaster risk management in South and Southeast Asia. Mr. Aslam works with governments on strengthening the institutional and legal frameworks for disaster risk reduction and with capacity building at national and sub-national levels.

Mr. Aung Thaung Shwe is currently working as a Deputy Director of the Myanmar Red Cross Society. He has been working with the Myanmar Red Cross Society since 2006 in various capacities. He also served with the Social Security Board of the Ministry of Labor, Myanmar. Mr. Aung Thaung Shwe has responded to a number of emergencies in different parts of the country during his professional career. He has a special interest and experience in community preparedness and response.

Mr.Aung Kyaw Soe is currently working as a Project Coordinator for DIPECHO IX project at Actionaid Myanmar (Safer Costal and Urban community through Inclusive Community Base Disaster Risk Reduction Project). Prior to joining ActionAid, he was working as a volunteer and Field facilitator for emergency response, recovery and rehabilitation at Link Emergency Aid and Development (LEAD). After Cyclone Giri, he worked at Help Age International as Community Development Officer.

16. Bevita Dwi Meidityawati

Ms. Bevita is Disaster Risk Reduction Specialist at World Vision, Indonesia. She has five years of work experience in community development and ten years of experience in Disaster Risk Reduction with humanitarian organizations in disaster-prone, conflict-affected, rural and urban across Indonesia. She has a keen interest in capacity building, community development, disaster preparedness, disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation and health promotion.

17. Bhichit Rattakul

Dr. Bhichit Rattakul has over twenty years of experience of industrial science and technology research in policy and management, disaster management, and environmental education and research. He has been elected as a member of the parliament of Thailand for three times, and has served as science and technology portfolio cabinet member of the Royal Thai Government. Dr. Bhichit has also served as governor of Bangkok as well as a board member in many state enterprises in Thailand. As a doctorate in biotechnology, Dr. Bhichit has given lectures at the Faculty of Science of the Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok. He is an active advocate and promoter of community-based disaster risk reduction in the region.

Mr. Bill Ho is Department Head Communication at ADPC. His main responsibility is to liaison between ADPC and international organizations. He is also involved with information sharing activities at ADPC. Mr. Bill has a background in project management and coordination, and he has extensive experience working throughout USA, Southeast Asia and China.

21. Brian Heidel Brian Heidel is the Regional Advisor for USAID’s Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assitance (USAID/OFDA) in the East Asia & Pacific region. Brian has worked on disaster-related issues and development issues in the Southeast Asia and South Asia regions for 25 years. Prior to joining USAID in 2009, he has worked with many different international NGOs.

Ms. Catlin Wiesen is the Chief of the Regional Policy and Programme Support at the UNDP Bangkok Regional Hub. Ms. Caroline Zastiral is currently working as Regional Climate Change Coordinator with Plan International in Bangkok, Thailand. Prior to joining Plan International, Ms. Caroline worked with UNDP in Thailand as a Technical Researcher and a Gender Consultant. She also worked with UNDP in India in addition to her stint at the All India Disaster Mitigation Institute in Ahmadabad, India. Ms. Caroline specializes in disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation.

24. Catalina Jaime Sanchez

Ms. Catalina Jaime Sanchez is currently working as Disaster Risk Reduction Delegate and Recovery Project Coordinator with the Swiss Red Cross in Philippines. She has previously served the German Red Cross in Uganda; IFRC and UNHABITAT in Haiti; UN-World Food Programme in Dominican Republic and Colombia; and National Society for Earthquake Technology in Nepal. Ms. Catalina Jaime Sanchez has developed expertise in disaster risk reduction, community development, international relations, and humanitarian assistance.

Mr. Morales was appointed Chief of Field Programs Operational Planning Division in December 2014 and subsequently as OIC Director of the Field Operations Service of the Department of Agriculture (DA) in the Philippines. As Chief and OIC Director, he supervises the DA’s programs/projects implementation and the DA-Rehabilitation and Recovery Program Office. As such, he leads DA in the developing and maintaining of the GIS-based disaster/climate risk reduction and management information system and in providing operational policy framework in the implementation of commodity programs and disaster/climate risk reduction and management activities.

Mr. Dino Argianto is currently working as Disaster Management Program Coordinator at the American Red Cross in Indonesia. He has 13 years of experience in emergency, relief and development, 8 years in management position, and 7 years on Disaster Management issues. He is specialized in designing and implementing developmental program and well-versed with the spectrum of disaster management, sustainable development, public-private partnership, community engagement, and policy mainstreaming.

Ms Donna Mitzi Ladameo is currently the Technical Adviser and focal point for Asia of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Climate Centre. Donna’s professional career in the fields of Policy Development, Governance, Evidence-Based Advocacy on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) in the Philippines and in the Asia region started in 1995. Program and project conceptualization, development, management, monitoring and evaluation; policy research, development and advocacy from local to global levels; and documentation of good practices are among her key competencies

Ms. Derval Usher is Head of Office a.i. for Pulse Lab Jakarta, a data innovation lab, aimed at harnessing the power of new digital data sources and real-time analytics for development. Pulse Lab Jakarta is a joint initiative of the United Nations and the Government of Indonesia, the first innovation lab of its kind in Asia, bringing together experts from United Nations agencies, the Indonesian government, non-governmental organisations and the private sector. Prior to joining the UN, Derval worked primarily in trade policy and government relations. She has a Masters degree in Chinese and International Relations and a Bachelors degree in International Business.

31. Ed Carla Mae Tomoling

Ms. Ed Carla Mae Tomoling is a GIS Specialist at the Philippine Climate Change Commission (CCC). Her main involvement is with Project ReBUILD - a UNDP-NZAP assisted project currently being implemented by the CCC. This Project aims to increase the capabilities of concerned technical personnel in the local government units (LGU) to incorporate climate/disaster risk management into the local planning processes among others. She developed the GIS training manual and serves as the GIS facilitator in the series of workshops on climate/disaster risk and vulnerability assessment conducted for the LGU personnel and local project partners. She assists and mentors LGU technical personnel in project sites to strengthen their knowledge and capacity on GIS for improved local-level planning and decision making

Mr. Edward Turvill is a Regional DRR/Resilience Technical Expert covering Asia/Pacific with the European Commission Humanitarian Aid & Civil Protection (ECHO). Before joining the Commission, he gained experience from his assignments with International NGOs and the United Nations. He completed two Master programmes specialising in International Public Law and Humanitarian Affairs from distinguished universities in France. He is a third country individual, with experience covering all continents. In addition to his voluntary work, he comes with fifteen years’ experience in the areas of disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, humanitarian and development programme management. He has co-authored two Training Manuals on disaster risk analysis and Gender: Participatory Capacity and Vulnerability Analysis (PCVA) and Gender and Adaptation & Risk Reduction Training Pack. His current fields of interest include School Safety, Building Back Better & Safer, and increasing the effectiveness of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials.

Mr. Eko Teguh Paripurno is Director/ Coordinator of Center for Disaster Research and Management (DREAM) University of Pembangunan Nasional, Indonesia. With more than 20 years of experience on community based disaster risk management (CBDRM) in Indonesia, Mr. Eko also teaches at the Geology Department. He has contributed directly to capacity building of more than 750 local CBDRM facilitators in 30 provinces in Indonesia since 1994 in addition to working with community on Merapi Volcano, Egon Volcano and recently with Kelud, Semeru and Sinabung Volcano. He is an award-winning (Sasakawa Award for Disaster Risk Reduction from United Nations) DRR practitioner.

Mr. Faisal Djalal is a self-employed senior trainer based in Indonesia. He has been working as a trainer and as a consultant for Human Resource matters, project management and Organization Development for over 25 years. Mr. Djalal is one of the veteran facilitators for participatory stakeholder workshops in Indonesia. He holds a degree in business administration from FH Bielefeld. Since 2012, Mr. Faisal Djalal has been elected as Chairperson for the Asia Pacific Alliance for Disaster Management.

35. Gordon Johnson

Mr. Gordon Johnson is the Regional Team Leader for Resilience and Sustainability at the UNDP Bangkok Regional Hub. He has over 25 years of professional experience as an environmental engineer, consultant and manager. For the past 18 years he has worked for UNDP with postings in Hanoi, Ulaanbaatar, Almaty, New York, Abu Dhabi and Bangkok.

36. Govinda Padmanabhan

Mr. G. Padmanabhan serves as Emergency Analyst of UNDP’s Energy and Environment Unit, India. With over 20 years of experience in the field of disaster management, Mr. Padmanabhan was closely involved in developing UN’s Tsunami Recovery Framework in India and has a good understanding of the concepts of DM and integrating DRR activities in development. He is the Resource Person of the Disaster Management Community of Solution Exchange, an online network of over 3000 DM practitioners.

Mr. Pearn has solid technical knowledge of disaster risk management and public sector systems in more than five Asian countries. He has experience of preparing disaster risk management policies, guidelines, and capacity development packages as well as demonstrated project management skills including proposal development (competitive and donor-funded); project coordination and administration; monitoring and reporting; and special interest in procurement and contract management.

Ms. Hanna Maier is working as a Junior Adviser in Bangkok for the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH within the framework of the Global Initiative on Disaster Risk Management (GIDRM) funded by the Federal Republic of Germany. Having a background in both tourism and disaster risk management with experience in Asia and Latin America, Ms. Maier is coordinating the Hotel Resilient Initiative that is led by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR), the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) and GIZ/GIDRM to promote disaster resilient tourism development.

Mr. Hari Kumar is currently working as Regional Coordinator of Geo-hazard international India office. He has over 28 years of experience in the field of civil engineering, of which the last 18 years have been focused on aspects of disaster risk mitigation. He also heads the geohazards society, India. His main focus areas are school safety, hospital safety and earthquake risk mitigation. He has been involved in various hospital safety projects including hospital retrofitting assessment of hospitals in India, Bhutan and Nepal and non-structural risk reduction projects across the region. Before joining GHI, he was coordinator (risk mitigation) at UNDP India.

Mr. He Chanthy is currently the Curriculum Officer at the office of Social Studies, Department of Curriculum Development, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS) in Cambodia. Mr. He is a young professional who had also worked as a high school teacher before pursuing his master’s degree program in Thailand.

Mr. Herry Firmansyah is a Program Manager of Coastal Project and Greater Jakarta Project at Indonesia Red Cross Society. He has over xxxx years of experience in the field of coastal flood mitigation. He is also Supporting Program Community Flood Resilience, IFRC-Zurich Insurance in Indonesia.

44. Herve Gazeau

Mr. Herve Gazeau is a senior technical advisor for disaster risk reduction with over ten years of experience in Asia Pacific implementing both high-level institutional capacity-building projects with governments, as well as community-based initiatives. Since 2014, Herve has been serving as a disaster risk reduction manager with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in the regional office in Bangkok. He manages a regional initiative for Southeast Asia, which is funded by the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development as well as the Canadian Red Cross.

Ms. Hui-Hsuan Yang is currently working as Assistant Researcher at the National Science and Tecnhology Center for Disaster Reduction (NCDR) in Taiwan. She has completed almost 10 years of work in NCDR. With background in sociology, Ms. Hui-Hsuan Yang has worked on social and disaster risk issues such as social vulnerability index (SVI) of Taiwan, nursing home response strategy, post-disaster social surveys and policy recommendations.

46. Ian Wilderspin

Ian has worked with major international nongovernment, civil society and government organisations, including the American Red Cross, UNDP, DFID, the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Save the Children and Oxfam. The majority of this work undertaken in Southeast Asia, particularly Vietnam, and in Cambodia and Lao PDR.

Ms. Indira Kulenovic is currently serving as Resilience Coordinator of Disaster Management Unit for Asia Pacific at IFRC. With 22 years of experience in emergencies, humanitarian & development sector, Ms. Indira has been working in Asia, with intensive engagement on the ground in 18 countries and since recently all 37 countries in Asia Pacific as Resilience Coordinator/Advisor for IFRC. Prior to that, she served as ECHO/DIPECHO Advisor for South Asia.

Mr. Moritz Krueger is currently working as Regional DRR Advisor at Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) based in Bangkok, Thailand. In his position, he supports mainstreaming of DRR and climate change adaptation in development projects in South and Southeast Asia. Mr Krueger is a geographer by training specialized in water resources management, integrated flood management, geographic information systems and disaster preparedness in development cooperation. Previously, he has served the Associated Programme on Flood Management – an initiative of the World Meteorological Organization and the Global Water Partnership.

Mr. Jermoe Faucet is DRR/CCS Program Coordinator of the German Red Cross, Vietnam. He has over 8 years of experience in the fields of Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation initiatives, Community Based Natural Resources Management and sustainable livelihood development. He has assisted Red Cross Movement in the headquarters as well as on the field by providing technical support in designing and implementing donor-funded programs. He holds PhD in Environmental Toxicology.

Prior to that, she worked with the Centre for UN Peacekeeping in India and with the Foreign Policy Centre, a think tank in London. Her focus is on economics of disasters and regional cooperation for cross-border disasters. During her tenure with ESCAP, Ms. Sirimanne has served as the Secretary to the ESCAP Commission, headed the trade facilitation programme of ESCAP, and led the macroeconomic policy work and ESCAP’s flagship publication, Economic and Social Survey of Asia and the Pacific. He has been acknowledged for his achievements in disaster risk management and disaster response capacity building as well as his work in organization development. Shane also led the development of a community resilience strategy and developed a community risk profile model in collaboration with the private sector to identify and mitigate community risk.
