Femur –thigh Tibia – calf (part of) 4 ligaments that control motion of the knee Gelatinous cartilage that cushions the bones

PROBLEM: The cartilage has worn away and significant pain is experienced

Solution: Replacing the worn away cartilage with a fitted metal alloy piece

Construction: Robot

Second, add the extended arm with grabbing feature to the side of the robot.

Then, add the second brick to the back of the first.

Finally, add the moving light sensor to the front of the robot.

First, add the touch sensor to the front.

The robot is proficient in completing each essential step of the procedure.

The robot completed the surgery 3/3 times successfully. Improvement:

-an improvement I would make is for the robot to be more precise in its beginning motions. The touch sensor worked for every trial, yet in development, the sensor was sometimes not “bumped” at the correct distance due to the size of the probe.

-to fix this, the gear at the end of the probe attached to the sensor could be made larger and therefore be more easily “bumped” by the detection wall.

-this would produce more accurate results overall because the robot would detect the surgical site more accuaretly.
