Program Overview

Certified Master of Revenue Assurance (CM-RA)GRAPA’s master level certification will build upon the professional’s grounding in the core GRAPA Standards and controls approach. Attendees will be invited to participate in collaborative sessions that touch all of the latest and most important trends that we face today and will have to face in the near future.

What Does Certification Offer?Never in the history of telecoms has the revenue assurance professional been challenged to know so much about so many different aspects of the industry. The explosion of new business models, partnerships, revenue sources and profitablity schemes has made it more critical than ever for the RA professional to keep up.

Those who certify at the master level will build and expand on their firm and fundamental grasp of GRAPA’s standards, as well as GRAPA’s standard controls across all telco domains and lines of business. They will learn about the latest trends in revenue assurance for the new generation of products and services as well as look at where the industry is going and how their RA team can work to fit in. Achievement of this certification, therefore, allows for a greater means of gaining professional status and confidence, allowing for accelerated professional development within your organization. Because the certification is structured to be comprehensive, it provides a detailed overview of Revenue Assurance issues and solutions from across the spectrum of telecoms businesses and addresses the appropriateness of controls for telcos of various sizes and situations.

This allows professionals to return to their organizations with lessons learned by other telcos for implementation in their (often unique) operating environment.

This approach ensures that certified professionals are rationalized in their approach, putting in place the appropriate level of controls to minimize risk, without resorting to needless redundancy that wastes budget and resources.

The GRAPA- Revenue Assurance for Data Master Class is an intensive 40 hour briefing and workshop designed to provide your company’s top revenue assurance, billing, marketing and finance teams with the chance to gain first hand knowledge about the latest, proven, successful approaches to the realignment of your Revenue Assurance activities to better implement 3G, 4G , WIFI and Data Roaming Products.

Telecoms around the world are in the middle of a massive conversion from a VOICE business to a DATA BUSINESS. This is creating the need for revenue assurance teams to reassess their controls and approaches to revenue assurance and to readjust them to be more in alignment with the new products, services and pricing approaches being devised.

This certification program is designed to help the RA manager, analyst and product specialist to understand how best to make the changes necessary to ASSURE the new data products and services being delivered.

Overview: Data Leakage Detection & Policy Controls is a 20 hour briefing and workshop designed to provide revenue assurance, billing, and operations teams with first hand knowledge about the latest , proven, successful approaches to the protection and recovery of data revenues that may be lost due to inadequate billing systems, I/T Support, improper product design, system configuration error, or the lack of effective guidelines and controls when it comes to the billing and delivery of data products and services to 3G, 4G and WiFI carriers. The majority of carriers around the world are in the process of migrating from the traditional 2G voice business to becoming FULL DATA service providers. This migration is not without cost however.

THE OLD APPROACHES and CONTROLS WILL NOT WORK IN THIS NEW ENVIRONMENT!! Some questions the revenue assurance professonal must face in this chaotic world.

1. “What new controls need to be built to assure that data environment” 2. “What old controls should I stop running?” 3. “How do I assure these new Policy Enforcement, Radius, DPI and other

systems that the network engineers are installing? 4. “ Can I assure management that these new systems are NOT LEAKING

or CREATING RISKS never before experienced? “ 5. “What is the role of RA in the building of these new billing and policy enforcement environments? 6. “When should the RA Team “speak up” and insist on playing a stronger role?” 7. “How can I help make sure that the billing, network, marketing and other people involved in billing and promotion

development make all the right decisions when it comes to leakage prevention?”

Who should attend? - Revenue Assurance, Finance, Billing & Operations Professionals• GSM Telcos that have already deployed 4G/LTE • GSM Carriers that will be launching 4G/LTE in the next year • 3G Carriers that are already offering complex data offerings

Keeping track of the revenues for data products is a lot more complicated than it is for voice. Most revenue assurance teams are finding that many of the controls that have worked for voice do not really address the risk areas that new data products create. On Day 1, students will come to understand the basics of HOW to detect data leakage, where to look and how to get started with industry standard controls.

The majority of GSM voice carriers have already made the move to 2.5G and 3G and while they have successfully moved into the delivery of BASIC data services with BASIC data controls and leakage detection, most have not yet implemented the FULL SET of industry recognized , end-to-end control points. During Day 2, we come to understand the 2.5/3G environments the latest best practices in its management. By the end of class, the student will have a COMPLETE LIST of the GRAPA End-To-End controls for 2.5/3G to bring back and apply to their environments.

The next generation of 4G/LTE data services are in the process of being implemented on most of the networks around the world. Some carriers are already in a FULL 4G mode, while others are just getting ready to start. In all cases, the new types of billing and policy devices (PGW, MME, DPI, HSS, PCRF and many more) mean that the RA teams must quickly become familiar with what these devices are, and how they must be managed to avoid major leakage disasters.By the end of class, the student will have an understanding of the end-to-end controls for 4G environment, and knowledge of how to make them work.

Moving to 4G is only the begining of the migration to the next generation of data networks. Most GSM carriers report that they are also beginning the process of deploying HYBRID - Part GSM part WIFI networks. Addiing WIFI to the overall technology toolkit of the telco makes it necessary for the RA analyst to learn yet another set of revenue controls and leakage risks. In this class, students will learn how WIFI offloading billing and leakage are managed.

To end the week, this will learn about the proper controls and assurance for data roaming (GSM and WRX). In addition, the class will participate in workshops that help them put together a roadmap for how to put their new data assurance leakage and billing assurance plans in place when they return to their

Fri AM - Traffic Analysis - Measuring REAL PROFITABILITY!

Fri PM - Segment & Margin Assurance - Monetization Controls

On day one students will gain an overview of the different issues, dimensions and objectives that are critical to the successful launch of data products, services and bundles. Students will learn the basics of competitive analysis of data offerings both domestic and internationally. A standardized method for the specification, design and launching of different categories of price plans and bundles will be developed which provide a common language and toolset for all those involved in data offerings develpoment to utilize.

The biggest challenge facing data products developers today is the confusion and chaos associated with understanding what can and cannot be done by a particular network at a particular time. “Possiblities” are not “Realities” is the hard lesson that too many marketing visionaries learn the hard way. On day two we learn about viablity assurance - the process of determining what exactly CAN BE DONE on a particular network at a particular point in time, and how RA Teams are providing CRITICAL SUPPORT to product developers by performing this key RA service. Learn how to do VIABILITY ASSURANCE !

Carriers are presented with dozens of alternative methods to deliver rich service offerings to customers. From traditional voice, interconnect & roaming, to the hundreds of new video, music, Cloud, and apps. The biggest challenge faced is deciding which partners to work with, and how to manage it. OTT, M2M, IOT, VNO, IMS, Roaming .. each have their own unique leakage and fraud risks to consider. In this session students will learn what these risks are and how to measure and manage them. Assure OTT, M2M, Roaming, Content, Cloud & Other Alternate Partnerships

The key making a PROFITABLE offering, depends upon your ability to measure and predict : a) how much traffic it will generate b) how the traffic with the routed c) how much it costs to use those routes. In this session, students will learn HOW TO ASSESS and put a COST to the differernt traffic patterns that different promotions and bundles will make. Learn how to REALLY MEASURE the PROFITABILITY of Data Services!

Top revenue assurance teams from around the world have been adding a whole new dimension to the world of data services and the role that revenue assurance can play in its success. In this session students will learn what these disciplines are, how they work, and alternative controls structures that can be implemented in order to make them a reality. Learn how Segment Assurance & Margin Assurance work and how to apply them

Telco executives rave about the courses!

"Although many of the items were familiar, it was good to know that we, as an RA Department, are working on the correct things and moving in the right direction. I will also be taking away a number of new things that we can look at and perform and change the way we look at certain things. This course

has definitely added value for me. I wish I had done this course years ago. It will definitely not only benefit anyone working in RA but also people working in other areas of the business."

-Andre Viljoen, Principal Specialist: Revenue Assurance

"When I decided to attend the RA Foundations course with my RA team, I thought I would only be there to coach them and that the Foundations course was not for me. Only

after starting the first sessions did I realized that this course was not just refreshing our knowledge but, in addition, started to enlighten us towards some misconceptions about RA."

-Mohamad Kahi, Sr. RA & Fraud Management Manager

"I found the course very informative and I believe it is an essential part of any person’s training wanting to enter the telco industry. I believe that senior level management will find the course to be excellent in order to assist them in understanding their business

on a higher level as well as their respective departments."

-William McDonald Spence, Business Analyst

"This is obviously the most comprehensive and structured Revenue Assurance training available. The instructors are deeply knowledgeable with unique presentation styles flowing from years of

experience, focused research and global industry interactions. It has certainly validated a lot of our current methodologies and provided direction for others. Overall, the training has helped me put

the various bits and pieces of Revenue Assurance information in context."
