Parliament of India Parliament: Parliament consists of LS, RS and President. President: He/She is elected by the elected members of parliament and LA of states and UTs. He is head of state and also of executives. He is also the supreme commander of central armed forces. He appoints PM, COM, Governors, Judges of SC and HC, Attorney general, CAG, Chairman and members of FC, UPSC and EC. Rajya Sabha: Total strength of 245 members with 233 representing states and 12 nominated. It is a permanent body which is never dissolved but 1/3 rd of its members are retired biannually subjected to six years. Lok Sabha: It consist of 545 members with 543 elected and 2 nominated from Anglo-indian community. It is subject to dissolution.
