At PARKIES we have talented parents and learners. For costume
day the learners had to wear a costume made from recyclable
material. We were amazed at the creative costumes the learners
wear.
The library prefects had displays in the library to enhance the theme of our Readathon Week. We say thank you to our library prefects for working hard during their breaks to enable our learners to take out books from the library.
Our grade 1 learners learned how to work with money, how to give change and
one maybe own your own shop or business.
The other reason for having an Entrepreneurs day for the learners from
Grade 1 to Grade 4 is to have funds available for each grade to better their
grade‟s playground and gardens. The learners have more pride in their
playgrounds when they know they helped to beautify it.
Thank you to all the parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts who helped the
learners with their little shops.
Without the help from our PARKIES parents we will not be successful in
many of our projects. Thank you to each and every one who was always willing
to help when called upon.
Thank you to the parents who are coaches and umpires. Without your help we
will not be so successful on the sports field.

CHANEL BOTHA – RITMIESE GIMNASTIEK
Ons is baie trots op Chanel Botha in Graad 3 met haar prestasie by die
afgelope Ritmiese Gimnastiek Kampioenskappe. Sy het 2 goue medaljes en 2
silwer medaljes gewen, wat aan haar die algehele eerste plek besorg het. Sy
is tans „n Vlak 3 gimnas.

ONELL MULLER
Onell in Graad 2C is in September by die BANK WINDHOEK KIDS FUN FAIR
gekies as “Mej Kids fun Fair”! Na verskeie uitdunrondtes het sy toe
deurgedring as een van 10 finaliste regoor Namibiё na die finale kompetisie.
Op 4 November het sy deelgeneem aan die “Little Miss Petite Namibia.”
Op die geleentheid is sy toe gekroon as die 2de prinses! BAIE GELUK

The following learners achieved the wrestling results during National and
International Tournaments in 2009 and 2010. They represented the Namibia
Wrestling Federation teams as indicated in the following:

NAMIBIA UNDER 13 CRICKET TEAM
Congratulations to the following 2 Parkie boys who received their National
colours this season: MARCO SCHäFER & BREDA REED
They will partake in various tournaments in South Africa this summer. A big
thank you to DIRK REED for coaching our U/13 CRICKET team. They did
very well and progressed to the semi-finals this year. Well done!
GYMNASTICS – TRAMPOLINE AND TUMBLING
Three of our senior learners took part in the National Championships this
year. Jivanka Kruger, Jahntwa Kruger and Marion van der Merwe.
Congratulations to JIVANKA KRUGER who received het Namibian national
colours for Trampoline and Tumbling. We are proud to call you a Parkie
learner.
Klein ANDRIES VAN DER VEEN in Gr. 3 het ook aan die onlangse Namibiese
Gimnastiek Kampioenskappe deelgeneem. Hy het „n brons medalje, twee silwer
medaljes en „n goud gewen. Algeheel het hy in tweede gekom in sy
ouderdomsgroep.
NAMIBIA WATER POLO AND CANOEING U/21TEAM
NEIL SWART made us very proud this year when he was selected for the
under 21 team. As a junior he showed so much potential that the selectors
had to select him for the under 21 team. Congratulations with your
achievements this year!
NAMIBIA JUKSEI
RODOLF HORN is only in Grade 4 but he was chosen to represent Namibia in
the National under 13 team. He had the honour bestowed on him to be named
as the captain of this team. They will depart to South Africa to play two
test matches against the Springbok under 13 team.
TENNIS
CHRISNA MATTHEE was invited to play in the TENNIS MASTERS
tournament this year. To be invited to this tournament is a big achievement
as only the top 8 players per age group in the country are invited. Thank you
Charisma for the wonderful way you represented Parkies on the tennis court.
We will follow your progress on the tennis court when you start high school
next year. We will always be proud to call you a true Parkie.

staan ek op. as ek op staan dan bad ek in die wasbak. Ek gaan 7 uur skool toe.
Ek, Zanda-Lee en Chante is dansers. Ons dans met mooi seuns en eet lekker
kaasbrood. Die dansers het silwer rompies en pienk hempies.

As ek „n muis was sou ek „n tandemuis gewees het. Ek is wit, vaal en swart.
My huis is van tande gebou. Ek het „n vlag op my huis. Ek het in my huis „n
sitkamer, bed en „n toilet. Ek sal kaas eet. Ek het twee vyande. „n Hond en „n
kat jag my. Ek sal dit geniet om sjoladekoek te eet. Ek hou nie van vise om te
eet nie. Ek wil op die twintigste verjaar. Ek soek „n klein oranje, swart en
rooi voêl. Dit is lekker om „n muis te wees.

As ek „n swaeltjie was sou ek lekker in die lug gevlieg het en dit sou sooo
lekker gewees het. Swaeltjies is tog te bly om in die lug te vlieg. Swaeltjies
vang insekte in die lug terwyl hul vlieg. Ek sou lekker in die lug gevlieg het.
Ek sou vir my „n modder nessie gebou het en dan sou ek my kleintjies groot
gemaak het.

Sou ek lekker in die lug sweef. As dit in Windhoek koud is bly ek oorsee en as
dit oorsee koud is bly ek hier. Ek drink water en eet insekte. Ek is die
mooiste swaeltjie en ek vlieg die verste. Ek sien mooi goed hier hoog in die
lug.

Ek wens ek kan „n tandemuis wees. Ek sal elke aand vir tande gaan soek. Dit
sal my banke en bed wees. Ek sal „n spens vol kaas hê. Ek sal baie bang wees
vir mense en katte. Ek sal klomp vriende hê, dit sal baie lekker wees. Ek sal
baie bly wees. En eendag sal ek trou. Ek sal dan in „n groter huis gaan bly. Ek
sal meer tande moet kry. As ek net „n muis kon wees.

Ek gaan lekker goed kyk terwyl ek hoog vlieg. Ek gaan insekte vang en hulle

Birds lay eggs. The body of the bird is covered with feathers. Eagles, Hawks

HOW SEEDS ARE SPREAD by OPERI 2D
People eat fruit and throw the seeds away. The wind blows seeds to other
places. Some seeds stick to animal hair or wool and are carried to other
places. Birds eat fruit or seeds, fly to other places and excrete the seeds.
Some pods burst open and shoot the seeds out far from the plant.

An insect has six legs. The body is divided into three parts: the head, thorax
and abdomen. The abdomen is divided into segments. Insects have two
antennas that are attached to their heads. They have two big eyes. They
have two wings. They have no back bones. Insects have exoskeletons that
protect them.

leaves and turns into a cocoon. The cocoon becomes a pupa. Later the pupa
