Just a quick note to pass along some hints I saw on the internet
aboutthe value of merchandising for increased sales. Admittedly,
some of these ideas might not work in a ParkerStore. (The color
pink, forexample, might not have the desired impact.) Still I think
the referencesto music, colors, smells and product placement are
interesting. Further,the importance of the ability to touch and
feel product is noted, alongwith studies ( #8) that show that
people can be influenced to buy moresimply by having a shopping
cart. Some ParkerStores in Europe doprovide shopping carts, but a
basket or a bag for your customer to fillwhile shopping might work
