Parker Student Council is sponsoring a Grade 5 & 6 Social on Thursday, June 2. The social is from 2:45-4:00. Permission slips for the social were sent home with all students and is also attached below. Tickets cost $5.00 each and will be on sale through Wednesday, June 1st. Wednesday, June 1 is the last day for after school activities.
Clubs and Activities
Tuesday, May 31
Plant Club is meeting in the Library. Ms. Barricelli, Ms. Carlson
Intramurals for Grade 5 will meet on Tuesday. Mr. Sullivan
Science Club is meeting in Room 218. Mr. Bruyn, Ms. Mayotte,
Parker Power Hour Grades 5 & 6 – is meeting this week. Ms. Havener
Jazz Band –All sections will rehearse. Mr. Linsner
Fitness Room Grades 5, 6 & 7 will meet on Tuesday. Mr. Sullivan
Video Game Design, Grades 6, 7, 8 is not meeting this week. Ms. Kadaras
Wednesday, June 1 - Last Day for After School Activities Intramurals – Grade 6 is meeting on Wednesday. Sewing will meet in Room 222. Mrs. Frenette
Parker Middle School Speech & Debate Team will meet in Room 201. Ms. Briand
Parker Power Hour Grades 7 & 8 will meet in the Library. Ms. Horan
Creative Computing Club, Grades 5 & 6 – will meet in Lab 212 & the iPad lounge. Ms. Denny-Brown
Student Council, All Grades - will meet in Room 217. Ms. Courtemanche
Thursday, June 2 There are no after school activities on Thursday.
Remembering Andrew Zabierek - On Thursday, May 25 the staff & students of Parker
joined together for our annual Memorial Day observance, remembering the people
who died while serving in our country's armed forces. We remembered Lance Cpl.
Andrew Zabierek, a Chelmsford native and former Parker student, who died May 21,
2004 while responding to a mortar attack south of Baghdad, Iraq. Andrew was born on
May 30, 1978, the son of Judy and Steve Zabierek. Mrs. Zabierek taught in Chelmsford
for 32 years--many of them as a 5th grade teacher here at Parker. A plaque honoring
Andrew is located at the flagpole outside the Parker front entrance.
Attention 8th Graders!! Do you want to be a part of a High School Play? Now you have a chance to audition for next year's CHS Children's Play!!!! Auditions for Parker students will be held on the Cafeteria Stage immediately after school on June 8. Callbacks will all be held at the High School on June 9. Everyone is welcome to audition and everyone gets a part!! You do not need any prior experience, so please come audition if you've always wanted a part! You DO NOT need to come to auditions if you are only interested in Tech or Backstage Crew! Please be aware that there are NO LATE BUSES on this date. Students must be picked up by parents at 4:30. The Parker PTO is participating in a fundraiser that won’t cost you any money! You can buy gift cards at face value and the PTO gets a percentage of each gift card. Simply go to www.shopwithscrip.com and pick from the 100’s of choices of gift cards. Think Dads, grads, and all your summer needs. Click on “alphabetically” under retailer list on the bottom left side of the page to see what they offer. Give them as gifts or just to pay for your regular purchases. Then fill out the attached form and send a check made out to Parker PTO in to school with your child by June 6th. Gift cards will be ready in about a week. Barnes & Noble Night will be held on June 1st from 6:00-8:00pm in the Nashua, NH location. Come see the Parker jazz band, chorus, and orchestra perform
while you stock up on summer reading! PTO Scholarship - Congratulations to Elena

scholarship which is given out to a graduating senior
who attended Parker Middle School. The
applications are sent into the PTO each year where
they are kept anonymous and reviewed and voted
on by the scholarship committee. If anyone would

Grade 6 Parents: A copy of your child’s sixth grade physical exam is required for the upcoming2016-2017 school year. A physical completed between January 2015 and August 2016 will be accepted, but must include a Tdap immunization. Please submit a copy of your child's physical exam to the school nurse if you have not already since this is required for entry to seventh grade. You may send it in or have your child’s doctor’s office fax it to Parker School Nurses office at 978-251-0936. Thank you. Ms. Conley, Ms. D. Foley
From CHS Health Office for Incoming Freshman All incoming ninth grade students are required to submit a copy of a recent physical to the Chelmsford High School Health Office. A physical dated from January, 2016 to January, 2017 will be considered current. If your student has had a physical from September through December 2015, please send us in a copy until a physical is performed in 2016; at which time you must forward us an updated copy. We understand that students are scheduled at differing times throughout the year for physicals and wanted to give you enough notice to obtain the necessary physical exam. BUS TRANSPORTATION
EFFECTIVE THIS YEAR: NO CASH will be accepted
Again this year, Chelmsford Public Schools will be offering a discount of $25.00 off the original Bus Fee of $200.00 if
purchased beginning MAY 2 thru JUNE 30, 2016. The family cap for this early purchase would be $400.00.
July 1 thru August 15, 2016 the Bus Fee would be $200.00 with a family cap of $500.00.
Also this year if your student is not registered for a Bus Pass by August 15,
2016 you will be charged a LATE FEE of $25.00 will go into effect Augus16, 2016. NO EXCEPTIONS
If you are a registered CPS Student, currently riding the bus (during the
2015-2016 school year), you have the opportunity to pay online using
MCC eSchool. Go to CPS website, click PARENT TAB, and scroll down to
“PAY ON LINE”
If you are new to the district, or wish to pay by check or money order, please use the registration form provided on the
website. You can either mail or drop off your payment to 230 North Road, Chelmsford, MA 01824. Go to CPS website,
DISTRICT TAB, scroll down to Transportation and hit Kindy/New Student Registration Form.
ALL BUS PASSES WILL BE MAILED OUT IN AUGUST
