We are very pleased to herald the success of the UCLA Anderson Class of 2005

in initiating their post MBA careers. Following a record year for us in corporate

recruiting activity, more than 95% of graduating students, who were seeking employ-

ment, had received at least one offer by summer’s end and an even higher percent-

age of first year students received summer internships.

We understand and appreciate that our commitment to a mutual partnership with

recruiting organizations yield the best career search results for our school, our stu-

dents and our corporate relationships.

Thank you for sharing in that commitment.

UCLA Anderson’s graduates continue to demonstrate the academic and professional

preparation and the personal character that makes them value-added employees from

the start.Thanks for noticing!

Sincerely,

Bruce G.Willison

Dean

The 2004-05 academic year was a great time to be a UCLA Anderson MBA student seekingemployment.A continued improvement in the economy and the growing partnership amongUCLA Anderson MBA students, faculty, administrators, and our corporate partners resulted inthe strongest employment year for our MBA students in recent memory. The support of corpo-rate partners, old and new, along with the enthusiasm of the Parker CMC team and scores ofUCLA Anderson alumni, resulted in our MBAs seeking and securing career opportunities in avast range of business industries and functions.

SIGNIFICANT STATISTICS:The 2004-05 academic year saw about 20% increase from the previous year in recruiting com-panies for our students seeking full-time positions and summer internships. 95.3% of the MBAClass of 2005 who were seeking employment had received job offers and 94.2% had acceptedthose offers by 3 months after graduation. This is an improvement over the corresponding figuresby the same time in 2004. Most of this year’s remaining job seekers were making good progressin their job searches as this booklet went to print.

UCLA Anderson MBAs are among the most diverse of all top MBA student bodies when itcomes to variety of employment choices. No one or two industries dominate our students’employment choices. This is reflective of the entrepreneurial attitude and ideals of our studentswhich is supported and enhanced through their academic and extracurricular experiences.Theybring that proactive mind set to organizations large and small, and although considered especiallystrong in team dynamics, UCLA Anderson MBAs are not quick to “follow the crowd.” In addi-tion to the rich array of on-campus career resources, they are adept at developing and utilizing avariety of personal and professional networks to find satisfying careers. Given that background, itis not surprising that there was a shift in the top industries where our students accepted employ-ment. Consulting moved to the top industry area, recruiting 14% of the class. The entertainmentindustry was next at 10.3%, with high technology (9.4%), investment banking (9.1%) and realestate (7.8%) rounding out the top five most popular industries. Pharmaceutical/ biotechnolo-gy/medical devices, internet services, investment management, food/beverages, and private equi-ty/venture capital were the only other industries chosen by more than 3% of the class, suggestingan extraordinary breadth of choice among our students.

In terms of job function, finance-related positions continued to be the most sought after path forUCLA Anderson MBAs. Combining the numerous finance functions, 35% of the class took thisroute, with Corporate Finance and Investment Banking leading the way. Marketing-related func-tions were secured by 25.5% of the class, with many of them in Product and Brand Management.Consulting was also popular (16%), with Business Development, Strategic Planning, and RealEstate-related functions also proving to be areas of great interest for our MBA graduates.

Along with improvements in the number of offers received, mean annual base salaries and signingbonuses increased to $89,545 and $16,993, respectively. Furthermore, there was an increase in thenumber of students receiving signing bonuses and other guaranteed compensation.

UCLA Anderson MBAs continue to be drawn from among the most selective applicant poolsfrom all over the world. US News and World Report ranked our most recent class as the secondmost selective in the United States.

The team of professionals at the Parker Career Management Center remains eager to help organ-izations find perfect matches from our talented UCLA Anderson MBAs.We remain committed toproviding the very best service possible and look forward to continuing and enhancing our part-nership.Thank you.
