Boating is a wonderful family activity with everyone together in one place surrounded by sunshine, scenery and warm waters. It's hard to imagine running out of ideas but it does happen. You can resort to technology to entertain everyone but why would you when you can use your imagination? Here are a few ideas to get you started:At the start of the season fill a shoe-boxed size plastic tub with dollar store craft supplies – construction paper, markers, beads, embroidery floss, scissors, stickers, glue sticks, white glue or whatever else catches your eye. A fun beach activity is to draw a picture on the construction paper with glue, pour dry sand over it, shake off the excess and voila, a masterpiece. Or take small objects (shells, stones, sticks, leaves) and place them on construction paper and leave in the sun for several hours. The paper will fade (like a reverse tan) leaving a design behind.Have a boat building contest. Use the items from your craft bin to create seaworthy vessels and time how long they float. (Please don't leave your litter behind.) Older kids may want to try carving an Ivory bar of soap – yes it really does float! Put a bucket or towel down first to collect any soap pieces as they can make decks slippery.Bring embroidery floss or plastic lace, scissors and safety pins (for holding your project). Google friendship bracelets and print out a few patterns. There are tons of ideas from basic two colour knotted pieces to complicated multi-strand weaving projects with words. This activity will even keep the adults occupied for hours.Instead of turning on the TV, turn on your brain with a game of I Spy or word games. Try the alphabet game. The first person says a word and the next

Family fun

person must say a word that starts with the last letter of the previous player's word. Try themes like animals, countries or sports to get you started. It's more challenging than you think and a good vocabulary booster.

Raining outside? No boat is complete without dice and a deck of cards. Play Fish, Pass the Ace, Rummy or other group card games. Dice can be used for Yatzhee, 5000 or dozens of other games easily found on-line before heading out.Organize on on-shore scavenger hunt – who can find an oak leaf, five different coloured pebbles, a shell, a feather, a pinecone etc. Or collect sticks and stones and create a tic tac toe board. Break out the books such as The Kids Book of the Night Sky by Jane Drake and Ann Love. Learn about

the myths of the night sky and the constellations. Then take the included star maps for each season, gather the pillows, lay on the deck or dock and find the star patterns.

Boat Show Rendezvous: Your Georgian Bay Reunion

Our industry is constantly evolving and so are the Parkbridge Marinas. With the retirement of long-time marina industry expert Ken MacDonald last June, Parkbridge Lifestyles Communities Inc. has restructured its marina management. Now Scott Cain and Kyle MacDonald will be leading our marinas forward into the future. Their common goal is to make your Parkbridge boating experience an outstanding one for every boater. As District Manager for Marinas, Midland, Scott is looking after Bay Port and Wye Heritage while Kyle has responsibility for three marinas as District Manager for Marinas, Penetanguishene and Orillia (Bay Moorings, Beacon Bay and Bridge Port)Together they are working with staff and boaters at each one of our marinas to create an industry leading example. As always, they welcome your input and suggestions. The new management structure allows us to maintain our sense of individual community at each marina and at the same time enjoy the benefits of belonging

to a larger family – sharing inventory and equipment along with our expertise and knowledge. Bringing our resources together increases efficiencies and means when a work process is modified at one marina, the same modification is made at all our marinas.

We at Parkbridge are committed to our boaters and are reinvesting in our marinas in numerous ways including replacing docks, maintaining the grounds, training staff, redesigning our chandleries for better selection and price advantages. In today's busy world, the boating lifestyle and demographic is changing and we're altering course to better serve all of boaters. Ten years ago the trend was to 40-foot boats and larger. While that is certainly a strong sector, we are seeing a dramatic growth in the 30-foot boat population. We welcome aboard this new generation, many who are discovering boating for the first time.As you dream about your summer plans, make your first stop the Toronto International Boat Show. We'll be on deck and we'd love to see you.

We've launched a new era of premier marina destinations

1. No need to travel for miles on the water, Port Perry's beautiful downtown with something for everyone is mere minutes away and Goreski's is just a short commute by car from your home.

2. Nothing says summer quite like arriving by boat to visit our waterside restaurant, dance the night away on Saturday, or relax with pub style food on the patio. Added bonus – the convenience store has candy, chips, pop and drinks to keep the junior crew happy.

3. Our campground means there's always room for company close to the boat in tents or trailers where everyone can relax and enjoy campfires, on-shore amenities and recreation programs.

4. We have a full service shop with Mercury trained technicians to look after everyone.

5. When the crew gets restless there's plenty of culture, entertainment and recreation to explore close by like First Nations pow-wows or the Blue Heron Casino.

Scott and I selected Goreski's Marina after we purchased our boat 3 seasons ago. When we toured the facility, we were very impressed with the facilities, on site mechanic and covered boat slips. In addition the proximity was a perfect commuting distance. Over the past seasons, we have enjoyed our weekends at the marina. A quick trip to the town docks for ice cream; a quick run out to the sandbar(s) for a swim; a nice exciting run up the river to the lock in Lindsay; or a long trip through the canal system ... there is lots to do on the water in Lake Scugog. With Scugog being accessible to the Trent Severn Waterway, an exciting trip up the river to the lock in Lindsay allows access to the entire system with time being the only limitation as to how far you can explore. This season we took a trip up the Trent to Orillia, in fact mooring at Bridgeport Marina, another Parkbridge facility. Lindsay, Bobcaygeon and Fenelon Falls can be accessed via the lock system from Goreski's and easily navigated over a weekend. We, like other boaters use the facilities on weekends all season long. You will find us hanging out at our dock when we aren't out on the water. Most evenings, you will find us all sitting around a fire, usually playing music and getting everyone to sing along. You will find that all the boaters are a friendly group that will not hesitate to help another. The marina has great facilities, including 3 pools, a beach and nice hot showers. There are always activities for all ages and entertainment in some form most weekends. The marina is full service in every sense of the word. Outdoor theatres this summer were a big hit and boaters and trailer park people alike enjoyed it immensely. The staff is always friendly and courteous. I have and would not hesitate to recommend the site to everyone I know. (I already have ;))In closing I would submit that we have yet to meet a bad boater. Thanks!Denise Ciaralli

Goreski’s Landing Lake Scugog

Boat Show 2016 Issue Boat Show 2016 Issue

Goreski's Landing welcomes you to the picturesque shores of Lake Scugog in the stunning Kawartha Lakes region. We're not landlocked at all, go explore! Take a nice run over to Port Perry for some shopping, head up to Peterborough to the lift locks and visit other unique and lovely locations along the historic Trent-Severn Waterway. Or set your sights for a longer adventure to discover the beauty of the 30,000 Islands of Georgian Bay. Don't forget to use the power of your Parkbridge Advantage and book your six nights free at any of our four Georgian Bay Parkbridge Marinas. We are a full service marina complete with launch ramp, gas sales, pump-out and a fully stocked chandlery with parts and accessories – the perfect place to up the fun-factor with this season's new inflatable toys. Our on-site trained technicians ensure your boating experience is stress free. But that's not all. On shore we also have three swimming pools, tennis courts, a private beach, a restaurant with live

entertainment and a playground. We even have hay rides on Saturdays for the kids and our camping association organizes many family-friendly events. Goreski's recreation coordinator runs complete summer program for kids and while we're an amazing family destination, we certainly welcome everyone! Our open and covered slips are conveniently part of the Trent-Severn Waterway. Besides all the amenities and amazing atmosphere on our outstanding 120 acre site perhaps our biggest attraction is our close proximity to the GTA. Boaters here love it. If you live in Oshawa or Ajax it's just 20 to 30 minutes before you're relaxing on your boat and we're within an hour of anywhere in Toronto. We're primarily a smaller boat destination with no huge floating cottages here. We offer boat rentals and our lake is a hotbed for anglers who have helped us raise over $415,000 for the MS Society with the Annual Real Deal Fishing Tournament in support of the MS Society which our resort proudly sponsors. As an added bonus when you have extra crew aboard we have on-site camping available right near the docks. It was an eventful summer and we're preparing to do it all over again. With 500 trailers and 300 boats Goreski's turns into a mini-town every weekend. Our Campers and Boaters Association organizes a mushball Tournament, Christmas in July, an end of season carnival and many other entertaining events. We're lucky, our campers association does a fantastic job and we say a huge thank you to all our volunteers. I've spent 25 years in the marina industry and I've never seen anything quite like it. The social side of boating is a major attraction and since arriving here in March I've encouraged the creation of community connections through meet-and-greets, BBQs and Canada Day celebrations. This year drop in and see us at the Toronto International Boat Show – let's talk boating!

Boating should be stress free and our Bridge Port crew works hard all year round to ensure you make the most of every minute of your precious time on the water. Our outstanding summer fuel dock crew greets you with a smile, gets you refuelled and on your way fast. Our trained technicians work behind the scenes – and below decks – to keep your boat operating safely and we are proud to have the best trained technicians in the area. While you're enjoying the winter they're hard at work, upgrading their qualifications and completing winter work.In a little over three months spring will be in the air and we'll be preparing to launch. This year make regular maintenance on your boat a priority. Don't leave service to the last minute. Get a jump on the season by talking to us now about everything from engine overhauls and repowering to replacing anodes, cutlass bearings and impellers. When was the last time you checked your oil? Something unusual in your bilge? Was that hose cracked before? Fix the small things before they become big things and ruin your relaxing day on the water. Our Boat Reference Maintenance Guide is a valuable resource. Prepared by the professionals at the Parkbridge group of marinas it contains essential information that just might save your vacation. Knowing the different systems on you boat and how they work can really help if you run into an issue on the water. Our boaters set out with a real sense of adventure this summer spurred on by glorious weather, higher water levels and low fuel prices (and of course the 5 cents

per litre fuel discount). Within minutes of leaving Bay Port you are in the Heart of Georgian Bay. A quick day trip to Beausoleil; a weekend in Longuissa Bay; enjoying Beckwith's sandy beaches or Massassauga Provincial Park’s many anchorages; venturing to Killbear Marina for a delicious meal or stopping in for a family favourite fish dinner at Henry's; boating is all about making memories.Prefer to build your confidence with a group? Sign up for our popular family-friendly Rendezvous trips. They fill fast so don't wait. The beauty of the bay speaks for itself. And don't forget we offer a $500 bonus

to our boaters who refer a new full-time boater to us. Reinvesting in our marina: We continue our commitment to be environmentally conscious caretakers. Removing our underground fuel tanks and replacing them with safe, secure above ground storage takes us a step closer to our ultimate Clean Marine goal. It's part of a multi-year rejuvenation of Bay Port to keep us the best on the bay. New paving on the north service road is complete and we will re-align and resurface the south side. Other enhancements include rebuilding L dock and redecking M dock. Chandlery changes: Inside, our chandlery is changing to serve you better. We welcome aboard Assistant Marina Manager Cristan Cooper, formerly of West Marine, who brings extensive marine retail knowledge and a fresh perspective to our store. We are open to the public so bring your friends in for the parts, the products, the prices and the professional knowledge and service we offer. Boat Show 2016 Issue Boat Show 2016 Issue

With today's chilly temperatures it might seem a distant memory but we enjoyed a sensational summer at Bridge Port with plenty of participation in all our events and activities. Boating is a passion best shared with friends and family so we love to see everyone together making memories to last the whole year through.I was pleased to see our family stick together with very little customer turnover while we welcomed new boaters to our docks. Our gas dock was busier than ever and we saw an increase in American boaters and travellers doing the Loop. It's fascinating to hear their travel tales, share stories and help them discover everything our amazing area offers. As our reputation grows, we have become a trusted source when mechanical issues threaten their vacation and our skilled technicians have saved many holidays, getting boaters back on the water quickly.I am excited to have been appointed Parkbridge's District Manager Marinas, Penetanguishene and Orillia. Don't worry, this marina holds a special place in my heart and I will continue to help Bridge Port thrive, ensuring your boating experience is the best ever. Losing Glenn and Shane was difficult but we continue to recover and deliver the outstanding level of service you're accustomed to with the help of new

team members, like Kathryn Urbanski, who share my vision for our boaters.A warm welcome awaits

Kathryn, Bridge Port's assistant marina manager, joined the crew during peak season in mid-July and was overwhelmed by the boaters' warm welcome. “There is so much camaraderie at Bridge Port. It was a really nice, welcoming atmosphere to come into. Everyone is like a family here;

they all know each other and help each.” She was also struck by the quiet, retreat-like atmosphere at the marina, perfect for a break from the hustle and bustle of real life. “You don't need a cottage when you have a boat. This is your getaway. You work hard and you deserve to enjoy your time together. Go out and explore, experience something new.” Kat suggests rather than anchoring for the day take the family exploring along the Trent Severn and visit Big Chute. “Look at it as an adventure. It sounds funny but the Severn River is one of my favourite areas and Gloucester Pool is a fun run. Open up your view of the water. Take the kids out and see something new. I love seeing new boaters' confidence grow and I'm

Cristan CooperNo matter where Cristan Cooper lives or travels her heart is always right here on Georgian Bay. “These are my roots. My family cottage is on Cognashene Island, I've always boated here.”Now living locally and raising the next generation of boaters, Cristan is loving the challenge of being Bay Port's Assistant Marina Manager. No stranger to the marine industry – Cristan spent 11 years in marine retail managing West Marine – she is enjoying her hands on role here where you're as likely to find her out in the yard or behind the wheel of a boat as inside the store. Of her past position Cristan said, “My favourite part was hiring, making that personal connection to put the right person in the right place.” She's bringing that philosophy to Bay Port, connecting with customers to provide unsurpassed service. “At the end of the day our customers are putting their hard earned dollars and trust into us. It's a big commitment to choose to boat here, we respect that choice and will work to continue to earn your trust in us.”She thanks everyone for the warm welcome. “I've had a good reception here at Bay Port and I look forward to talking with everyone I haven't yet had the pleasure of meeting.”

In another show of community support this summer Team Bay Port (staff, families and boaters) joined Cycle for Camelot, raising $3800 for the Georgian Bay Cancer Support Centre. We are open seven days a week, year round, so there's always someone here to help you. But first, we'll see you at the boat show in Toronto!Shhhhh! Ask for details about our boat show special!

Dockage SpecialHave a boat 30 feet and under? Why line up at the launch ramp when you can enjoy the convenience and cost-effective new special summer dockage only rates.

A word about serviceDon't leave service to the last minute. Get a jump on the season by talking to Larry about everything from engine overhauls and repowering to routine maintenance like replacing anodes, cutlass bearings and impellers. Now is the time to book: get in the queue by booking your buff and wax now, before the rush.

In-Water Boat ShowIf you didn’t find what you wanted at the Toronto Boat Show then circle the calendar and get ready for our third annual Georgian Bay In-Water Boat Show right here at Bay Port Yachting Centre on the weekend of June 3-5. It grows bigger and better every year with a marketplace, food, kids activities, demonstrations and of course new and brokerage boats! Kayaks, canoes, sail, power. If it gets you on the water it will be here. It's the perfect place to bring your friends. Ignite the passion by taking a trip on the bay with our Discover Boating representatives.

Wye Heritage Midland

There's no place like home

Mike SweetGeneral Manager

This is how I feel when here at the marina. I boated from Wye Heritage Marina with my family, and later on as a young father myself and it really felt like coming home when I took over the helm in June.Wye Heritage Marina is a location like no other. You crest the hill on Old Ford Road and see the vast expanse of Georgian Bay and it's just, wow! That feeling you get when your weekly stress fades away when you pull up to your slip and put your vehicle into park, you know you are in the right place. The 2015 boating season was nothing short of amazing; with clear skies and warm winds allowing all of us to enjoy some of the best boating in the world. Being hands-on with my work is my motto, working alongside all of the Wye Heritage Marina crew ensuring we deliver the best boating experience possible. I found myself connecting with Parkbridge Marina's boaters by being involved in events like the Family Flotilla, the Sailboat and Power boat Rendezvous. Power or sail, large or small, we are all boaters and that's what it's all about.

My wife Tina and I spend weekends on our boat, rain or shine. We have over the years met some of our closest friends and continue to rekindle and build new friendships and relationships each passing season. But that's the beauty of the boating lifestyle. We all have an immediate connection as we all share a love and passion for being on the water boating and exploring Beautiful Georgian Bay.With the help of Parkbridge's committed investment we will continue to improve and keep Wye Heritage Marina the premier facility where every boater wants to be. I'm excited for the renovations and rejuvenation projects we have planned for the 2016 season. Parkbridge Marinas have the ability to inject capital to achieve the highest standards possible for our boaters. In addition to our existing team we have Human Resources, IT Technical support, health and safety with everyone in mind, and a team building mindset – as a manager you're not alone and you're able to build on the existing and make a better boating lifestyle for everyone here at Wye Heritage Marina.

Talk to us about serviceBring your questions and your dreams to our attention. Talk to us about winter work. Let us address that pesky electrical problem or that unsightly stress crack before the season begins. We are here to discuss your service needs. Thinking of an engine overhaul? We can do that. Need bow thrusters? We can do that. Need to install an air conditioner or new refrigerator? We can do that. Need new navigation equipment or thinking of changing to LED lighting? We can do that.

Public WiFi problems will be addressed and you should expect to get a WiFi signal on the deck of the boat but due to materials used in the construction of boats you may not get a signal in the cabins – so enjoy a beverage on the deck and enjoy the sunset while you surf the net.Along with repairs and maintenance, an immediate focus will be the service department. We will work to build our service department to be sought after – the place to go when you want the job done right the first time. Just like at Bridge Port I will be sending our technicians to school this winter to build their knowledge base and create stable, year-round employment for our essential technicians.Having Georgian Canvas right on site at Bay Moorings is a big plus and this business relationship has been smooth sailing. Sylvain's skill and expertise creating custom canvas for every style and size of boat is outstanding. As our industry evolves and our new Parkbridge Marinas management structure takes effect there's opportunity to update our operations, revamping our parts and accessories department using one facility as a hub to improve efficiencies.

We encourage you to enjoy our social events and Rendezvous as it adds to the community feeling here – after all that's part of the beauty of boating, building camaraderie and helping you discover and explore new destinations with confidence. And finally, congratulations to our boater Brian Nuttley. His stunning sunset shot of a boat at anchor won Parkbridge's photo contest and we proudly showcase it on page 18. We always encourage you to share your photos with us as we love to see the world through our boaters' eyes. I look forward to talking with everyone I didn't have the opportunity to meet in the fall while walking the docks. Why not come see me at the Toronto International Boat Show. Let's talk summer and get excited about boating and Bay Moorings' future.See you at the boat show!

Our amazing team accentuates the positives and we're already seeing results with an increase in occupancy on our docks this season. We're actively attracting boaters from Lake Ontario, Lake Simcoe and Lake Erie to our five-star property. We offer a boating lifestyle like no other place on earth. Sailors can turn outside the fuel dock, raise their full sails – in any wind direction – and in just 8 nautical miles be at Beausoleil Island for an evening dinner and swim. Within a few hours, you can be swinging at anchor in the pristine waters of the outer islands of Hope, Christian and Beckwith or scores of secluded or social anchorages that dot the inner islands. Our service department is becoming the go-to destination on Georgian Bay for Service and Refinishing/fiberglass repairs and maintenance. It's amazing to watch our terrific service duo of Steve Goddard and Jennifer Thomas. Together they keep our boaters safe and happy and most importantly out on the water. Jennifer's super organizing and communication skills and Steve's outstanding expertise and extensive knowledge, direct our factory trained and skilled technicians so customers can arrive and happily head out on their boat Friday night. Their relationship with customers is built on trust.

We are a destination for marine shoppers and our chandlery is open to the public so bring your friends whether they are Parkbridge boaters or not. Always up for a challenge, Gary and Jayme are diligent about finding just what you need, so come in and ask. We have the parts, the prices and the people who put their knowledge and experience to work for you.In closing my goal of this message to you is to emphasize that we are striving to continue to make your summer boating experience as stress free and enjoyable as possible. If you have any ideas to help us improve, or a suggestion to enhance your boating experience please bring them forward, we are here to help. Come in, have a coffee and let's chat.I will look forward to seeing all of you at the Toronto International Boat Show in January; stop by to see me and together let's get excited for the 2016 summer on the water!

Parkbridge Marina boaters are fortunate to have Steve Goddard aboard. As service manager at Wye Heritage Marina Steve took a few minutes break away from busy boat work to offer some essential tips for years of happy boating. If you do only one thing for your boat Steve recommends regular maintenance such as oil changes, fuel filters and impellers. He said it's one of the most overlooked aspects of servicing boats.

Fuel filters should be changed annually - yes, that's every year! When was the last time yours were replaced?

Change impellers every two years It's important to remove and service stern drives Load test and service batteries regularly

Steve said dedication and focus on customer service is what sets Parkbridge apart. The ability to draw on our other facilities' knowledge, factory trained staff and equipment if required is a huge advantage. “Technology has certainly changed in the last 10 years enabling better communication with the customers, more thorough diagnostics to be performed on engines and the ability to track completed maintenance. We provide excellent customers service at a competitive rate with the goal of getting our customers back on the water as soon as possible.”He encourages everyone to discuss their boat service needs with their service department now, before the season starts. Steve gives a shout out to all our boaters. “I thank you for your patronage and I look forward to another excellent boating season.”

Seeing the potential

Kyle MacDonaldDistrict Manager

Kyle MacDonald came on board in mid-September filling his new role as District Manager for marinas Penetanguishene and Orillia. While I'm new to the docks at Bay Moorings, I'm no stranger to Parkbridge or marina life. I grew up at Wye Heritage and Bay Port and most recently managed Bridge Port for eight seasons. It's nice to be back home on Georgian Bay! The Trent Severn will always hold a special place in my heart and I encourage our boaters to explore this interesting network of lakes, rivers, locks and lifts. I'm proud of the work I did at Bridge Port and now I'll use that knowledge and experience to help Bay Moorings reach its full potential.

After an initial eye opening exploration of the property and talking with our customers and employees it is quite obvious it's time for change, but it's also clear there are many treasures too.We all want to see Bay Moorings prosper and regain its pre-eminent position on the bay. There is so much potential here. We need “all hands on deck” with everyone working together to achieve the vision. Please be patient and give us time as we work through everything and begin moving in the right direction. Constructive criticism is vital for us to make the right decisions so please know, I'm always available to work with you.You can help by responding to our survey as we'll be using those responses to help guide us in the right direction as we move forward. Please don't ignore them. It's helping us chart a course forward. In the spring, everyone with a slip will receive a survey to complete and additional ones are sent out whenever service work is done, ensuring we hear about your satisfaction level with the work. Constructive input is welcome at any time whether or not you've had service work completed.Parkbridge is committed to investing in their marina properties. A lot of necessary maintenance was completed this fall and we enhanced vehicle and yard equipment safety. We are exploring more permanent solutions for the floating breakwall and will be adjusting docks due to fluctuating water levels. Washrooms are also high on my priority list. They'll get a much needed facelift and be maintained on a regular basis.

Clean Marine

We are proud to be part of the world's leading environmental best management practices for marinas. For 20 years the Ontario-developed Clean Marine Eco-Rating Program has protected our waterways. We pass a comprehensive environmental audit of more than 200 aspects of marina operations including fuelling, waste oil, shrinkwrap, paper recycling and energy conservation initiatives. Every effort counts – we can't do it without the co-operation of all of our boaters whether it's using our on-site recycling bins, cleaning up spilled oil immediately or choosing green cleaning products available in our chandleries.Did you know? Just one litre of spilled gasoline can contaminate 20,000 litres of water. Go to www.boatingontario.ca to download the Clean Boater Handbook for tips on reducing your impact.

Beacon Bay boaters headed out in record numbers this summer exploring with confidence thanks to higher water levels and the lowest gas prices we've seen in years (helped along by our Parkbridge advantage 5 cent per litre fuel discount all season long). Boaters who usually travel with others proudly ventured out on their own.The long weekends in August and September were oddly quiet with empty docks which felt amazing, knowing our boaters were out enjoying the bay, making the most of summer. Our new A dock was well received and we have good news on the WiFi front as a whole new system has been installed. It's been a complex process as the geography and infrastructure are an issue but with perseverance expect complete service by next season.Roads were resurfaced virtually eliminating dust issues and we're progressing through the property. The marina received a facelift with a fresh coat of paint and new user friendly signage clearly marking the office, chandlery and service areas as well as after hours emergency information. Remember, our chandlery is open to the public so invite your friends.

In July Justin became our Assistant Marina Manager and he's putting his experience to work by improving our store with his professional service, competitive pricing, and outstanding product line-up. Check out the new LED lighting that offers better energy savings for your boat.We are always working to improve this glorious 35 acre property and we go to great expense to keep it elegant and inviting. Did you know it takes a week just to do the lawns here? Our marina has more grass space than any other in Ontario! In May, Robin and Mike travelled to a Loopers Rendezvous in Norfolk, West Virginia on behalf of all Parkbridge Marinas, extending an invitation to these long distance travellers to visit us and many did. We are already a trusted source for service on Georgian Bay and now we're investigating hosting a three-day Loopers Rendezvous to encourage more boaters to stay and play, making us their destination of choice to fully explore everything the bay has to offer.Loopers aren't the only ones discovering Beacon Bay as we welcomed over 20 new boaters this season.

We're reaching out in different ways doing power squadron talks and attending the Port Credit show inviting Lake Ontario boaters to discover the 30,000 Islands. We've seen a resurgence in families choosing our facility as they know boating is a super way to strengthen family values and spend quality time together without the distractions of daily life.Penetanguishene's waterfront has enjoyed a fabulous facelift. In conjunction with the Rendezvous Champlain event the impressive waterfront now includes an amphitheatre, docks and walkways, gorgeous parkland and a splash pad.It all adds to a positive atmosphere and we're inviting you to 'Fall In Love With Your Boat' all over again. With the dollar, buying a new boat isn't in the cards but you can start a new love affair with your family favourite by upgrading it with new carpet, navigation equipment and bow thrusters. Winter is the perfect time to complete this work – call us for a quote today. We've even added pre-authorized payment plans to make it easier and more affordable.Whether you chart a course for the crystal clear water and sandy beaches of Hope Island or venture to the village of Killarney reminiscent of an east-coast fishing village there is a whole world to explore on Georgian Bay. See us at the Toronto Boat Show and we'll help you plan your summer adventures.

After a 15 year absence from boating, Gail and I jumped back in this year. Raising teenagers and installing a pool meant that weekends were going to be spent at home, and not boating in Georgian Bay, which we had done for three years. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Beacon Bay, yet, having moved to the Kawartha Lakes area, it seemed to make more sense for us to boat in the area and so we ended up near Beaverton on Lake Simcoe for most of 2015.While we enjoyed our trips up the Trent Severn and over to Orillia, it was unfamiliar waters to us and we missed the connection we had with Georgian Bay. We decided to contact Beacon Bay Marina to see if they could accommodate us for the 2016 boating season. It turns out that they had a fall special, making the switch back to Beacon Bay easy, and when we got there it was like coming home. We met familiar faces at the marina and they have an excellent expanded crew. They took the time to reacquaint us with all of the spring and fall service and storage options and helped us select the options best suited to us and our boat. With its beautiful scenery, Georgian Bay offers many different destinations for boating, along with ample docking facilities. Spending a sunny day at the beach or boating around Beckwith Island, Giant's Tomb, or Beausoleil Island is a very relaxing outing. We are looking forward to visiting our favourite shores, exploring the friendly communities around Georgian Bay and taking advantage of the special events Beacon Bay offers to get the most out of all that Georgian Bay has to offer.Mike and Gail PutzLucky Putz

Kathryn, Bridge Port's assistant marina manager, joined the crew during peak season in mid-July and was overwhelmed by the boaters' warm welcome. “There is so much camaraderie at Bridge Port. It was a really nice, welcoming atmosphere to come into. Everyone is like a family here;

they all know each other and help each.” She was also struck by the quiet, retreat-like atmosphere at the marina, perfect for a break from the hustle and bustle of real life.

Ignite the passion by taking a trip on the bay with our Discover Boating representatives.

always excited when they tell us about new areas they've explored.”Why not plan a longer trip to Georgian Bay with the help of Parkbridge's fully escorted Powerboat Rendezvous through the glorious 30,000 Islands? “Take time and make those memories, teach your family how to boat, enjoy everything our area offers.” Bridge Port boaters have easy access to so many on-shore activities like nearby Casino Rama for dinner and world-class concerts, the historic Stephen Leacock home, kilometres of bike and running trails beginning at our doorstep, the Port of Orillia's Christmas in June, a downtown brimming with a farmers' market, delectable bakeries, boutique shopping. For Kat, customer service is a priority. “At the end of the day my goal is to make sure our customers are happy.” You only have one chance to make a first impression and our staff on the fuel dock is exceptional, so enthusiastic and willing to help people, they are amazing. They know our customers by name even if they aren't Bridge Port boaters. I invite everyone to discover Bridge Port whether you live locally or need to rest and recharge after a week in the city.We are open through the winter – although I might be out plowing snow! Come and see us, our door is open. If have any questions don't be shy whether you are a new or experienced boater, we're happy to help you find the answers you need.

Pick up a copy in the office and remember, we're here to help, so bring your questions to us.

Our boaters set out with a real sense of adventure this summer spurred on by glorious weather, higher water levels and low fuel prices (and of course the 5 cents

Besides all the amenities and amazing atmosphere on our outstanding 120 acre site perhaps our biggest attraction is our close proximity to the GTA. Boaters here love it.

Boat Show 2016 Issue Boat Show 2016 Issue
