    DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH

    PARK‟S COLLEGE (AUTONOMOUS), TIRUPUR

    FOREWORD

It is indeed a great pleasure to work on topics in concern with English LanguageTeaching. English, a rich and varied language has peculiar ideologies. People arewillingly or unwillingly made to express their ideas and emotions to a foreigner through

a medium called English which acts as a common channel. ELT is a module for making

learners feel ease to learn English with methods and techniques easily understandableand in turn easily applicable. Communication is possible on fulfilling a criterion that

sender and receiver must communicate with both  Heart and Intellect.  This is the areawhere communication collapses and fails due to lack of understanding of this basicconcept. People must be aware of this point. Issues in teaching and Learning English arechiefly based upon this mode. English cannot be learnt perhaps no language can be

learnt. Languages have to be perceived. Such perceiving must be done by learners of a

language. Language has complexities, especially English. It is in the hands of users tomake it simple by allaying the complexities. People who are in the realm of teaching andlearning English have to get accolade. I fervently take up a chance to deal with ELT and

proceed with the outcomes of my observation, teaching and learning with endurance. Iam happy to welcome people to share opinions on ELT and jointly we would attempt andsucceed at elevating the process of teaching and learning English.
