A MessAge FROM FAtheR tOM FeRgUsOn, PAstORDear Fellow Parishioners,

As we continue to reflect on the gift of Pope Francis’ recent visit to the United States, we recall his example of prayer, his clear teaching of our Catholic faith, his encouragement of all who engage in works of service and his desire to welcome all people into a deeper relationship of love with the Lord.

In this Annual Report, we see a reflection of Pope Francis’ hopes for the Church fulfilled in the life of Good Shepherd Parish – vibrant prayer and worship, enthusiastic faith formation programs, compassionate service of others and a hospitable environment where all are welcome!

Thank you for your generous support of Good Shepherd during this past year – and with the enthusiasm generated by our Holy Father’s recent visit, may we continue to be a parish in which we recognize that in all that we do, we are bringing to life the message of Jesus that the Kingdom of God is at hand!

Sincerely yours in the Lord,

how is my offertory donationused for parish ministries?

Here are some of the ways we serve over 9,700 parishioners

• Liturgy: 780+ Masses a year• Faith Formation: over 1,100 children and teens • Sacraments: over 800 sacraments (not including

Reconciliation) annually• Social Ministry: support provided for 100’s of people in

need, both in the parish and the community• Facilities: over 10,000 hours per year of activities

These ministries are served by wonderful volunteers and staff in a building that is welcoming. We need funding to serve each other, those who visit and those who wish to be part of our family of faith.

Jubilee Prayer

Jesus, Good Shepherd, we are grateful to be the parish

that bears your name. May we always hear your voice

in our prayers and in your scriptures, in the words of our families

and those of our friends, in the voice of the newcomer and that of our

neighbor who is in need.May we feel your love in your mercy

that saves us when we stray. With the gifts we have been given,

may we be the bearers of your kindness, care and peace.

Good Shepherd, lighten the darkness of our valleys,

give rest to us in the midst of storms and revive our spirits when we are burdened.

You came that we might have life, and have it in abundance.

Today, may we be grateful for this gift, and share it generously in our future,

as those who have come before us have handed it on to us.

You live and reign forever and ever. Amen.

Father Tom Ferguson, Pastor
