“November” Family of the Month
James and Mary Jo Metz
The Knights of Columbus would like to congratulate Jim Metz as
the Knight of The Month. As many of you know, he is a familiar
face at the many events the parish and Knights host annually. He is
always volunteering his time and talents to the parish and communi-
ty. Jim recently received the Diocesan Order of Merit Award by
Bishop Malooly, which is a great honor. The Parish and the Knight's
greatly appreciate your dedication and commitment.
Social Justice Reflection November 12th
Because God is the creator, redeemer, lover of the world, God’s own
honor is at stake in human happiness. Wherever human beings are
violated, diminished, or have their life drained away, God’s glory is
dimmed and dishonored. Wherever human beings are quickened to
fuller and richer life, God’s glory is enhanced. A community of
justice and peace (thriving among human beings) and God’s glory
increase in direct and not inverse proportion.

wise thing your beloved recently did or said?
Parenting Pointers Even with natural talent, it takes work to develop it.

Are you Being Called to God? Today’s first reading reminds us that wisdom “is readily perceived
by those who love her and found by those who seek her.” God’s
wisdom for us includes our individual vocation, that unique plan
God has for each of us to participate in His work. Like wisdom,
God’s call is “readily perceived” and “found” by those who put time
and effort into discerning it. What steps are you taking to discern
your vocation? Call or write Father Norm Carroll, Diocesan Direc-
tor of Priestly and Religious Vocations (302-573-3113 or voca-

November 12, 2017 Jesus’ parable this week emphasizes that one
must be prepared. We may not know the day or
the hour of His return, but we should be ready for it at all
times. Imagine all the preparation needed before you go on a
vacation. Reservations need to be made, bags packed, and
finances set aside. Are you making the same effort in prepar-
ing to meet Jesus? What must you do in order to be ready?
Are you preparing yourself now, or do you find yourself pro-
crastinating? Heed the warning this parable provides, do not
wait any longer, and prepare yourself now. Christ is waiting
to receive each of us with open arms.
