Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ:
Next weekend, the parishes in our diocese will join together to raise money for our local priests who have retired. Currently our diocese has 27 dedicated priests who are no longer able to serve in parish ministry due to age or infirmity. They will directly benefit not only from your financial generosity, but also through your prayers and kind remembrance. At their ordination the bishop prays, “Together with us, may they be faithful stewards of your mysteries, so that your people may be renewed in the waters of rebirth and nourished from your altar; so that sinners may be reconciled and the sick raised up. May they be joined with us, Lord, in imploring your mercy for the people entrusted to their care and for all the world” (Rites of Ordination, 2nd Edition, USSCB). It is this commitment that our priests live out in our community. The Diocese of Palm Beach has been blessed by the dedicated priestly ministry of so many who have given their lives in joyful service to the Lord. Even after their retirement, many continue to labor tirelessly in the vineyard for the glory of God and out of love for the faithful. We appreciate their service and thank them for their selflessness. Your support of these faithful priests, especially those who can no longer minister publicly, is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for allowing them to continue to be faithful stewards of God’s mysteries.

Queridos Hermanos en Cristo:
El próximo fin de semana, las parroquias de nuestra diócesis se unirán para recaudar dinero para nuestros sacerdotes locales que están jubilados. Actualmente nuestra diócesis tiene 27 sacerdotes dedicados que ya no pueden servir en el ministerio parroquial debido a la edad o la enfermedad. Ellos se beneficiarán directamente no solo de su generosidad financiera, sino también a través de sus oraciones y amables recuerdos. En una ordenación sacerdotal el obispo reza: "Sea con nosotros, fiel dispensador de tus misterios, para que tu pueblo se renueve en el baño del nuevo renacimiento y se alimenten de tu altar, para que los pecadores sean reconciliados y sean confortados los enfermos. En comunión con nosotros Señor, imploren tu misericordia por el pueblo que se le confía a favor del mundo entero” (Rito de Ordenación). La Diócesis de Palm Beach tiene la bendición de beneficiarse del dedicado ministerio sacerdotal de tantos que han dado sus vidas en un jubiloso servicio al Señor. Incluso después de su retiro, muchos continúan trabajando incansablemente en la viña para la gloria de Dios y por amor a los fieles. Apreciamos su servicio y les agradecemos su desinterés. Apreciamos su apoyo a estos fieles sacerdotes, especialmente a aquellos que ya no pueden servir públicamente. Gracias de antemano por permitirles seguir siendo fieles administradores de los misterios de Dios.
