Year A, 4th & 5th February, 2017. In today's Gospel Jesus says to His Disciples: 'You are the salt of the earth' and ' You are the light of the world.' The meanings behind these two statements are quite clear, we not only have to live by God's laws, but we have to be seen by all to be living by God's laws. By our example, will all people know that we are followers of Jesus Christ? No one would turn on a light and then cover it so no
light would be seen, rather, you would put the light up high so that all could see. In the same way, our good works 'must shine' in the sight of all people.

WHAT DO CATHOLICS REALLY BELIEVE? Do you sometimes get challenged about your Catholic faith? Do you In Remembrance...
struggle to explain it? On Wednesday, February 8th at 7.30pm (between 1/2 hour to 1 hour tops) come along and watch a DVD that explains our faith, by Dr. Ray Guarendi and Fr. Kevin Fete. This is NOT a dry lecture, anything but! In a lively and often humorous way, they unwrap our faith and help us know how to defend our faith, and in the process understand the scriptures in a deeper way. We will run this once a month with various topics to be explored, in a casual setting. If you have been confused in the past, perhaps this is the opportunity to learn more. The meeting will
be behind the parish office, in the school area behind the kitchen. All VERY welcome, bring a friend. It's free.
