Chrism Mass - Thank you

A big thank for you to all those in the parish who helped with hospitality and liturgy for the Archdiocese Chrism Mass, what a beautiful celebration to be part of, around 50 priests present renewing their vows and the blessing

of the Oils distributed to each Parish. It was also lovely to include the Palmerston North diocese and many from the other parishes around the Wellington and the upper South Island.

We offer our condolences and prayerful sympathy to the family of

Genowefa (Jenny) Braczek whose Requiem Mass was held on Monday.

May she rest in the peace of Christ

The Organ is dancing

My thoughts by Bob Houston

I am often accused that in my writing that I must live in a wardrobe of superlatives with my over-

enthusiasm of using adjectives and adverbs to enhance the description of the topic in question.

But in turning one’s attention to the initial Sunday concert in the Our Lady of Kapiti Parish

Church I am thrilled to say that I am guilty as charged when it comes to my enthusiasm for the

event.

So much was so good from Kemp English’s delightful story of regularly walking past the construction site and

wanting to play a part in helping us open our magnificent home; when they are not even Catholics (but they should

be).

The beautiful feeling of unity of soul and note between Kemp and Yuka, just glorious sharing

their company for a couple of hours, while they presented us with a concert punctuated

delightfully by a small history lesson on what we were about to hear.

We had about 400 years of musical excellence covered in the two hours.

But the concert was only part of the event, and of course there was a standing ovation at the

end, totally deserved.

The feel-good factor about our new home was magnificent, the Mayor not only loved

the concert, but he was enquiring whether or not the complex is available for public

bookings. That summed up his opinion on our new Our Lady of Kapiti home, the

whole complex worked so well.

There were approximately two and a half thousand people through the doors during

this weekend period.

People simply felt proud, that this is all here, open, and it is all ours.

God is good.

The concert raised $6,000 for the Building Fund.

Sincere thanks to Mary Cook and all who provided hospitality and

a welcome to our guests.
