Solemnity of Brotherly Love Contemporary Rite p. 63

Hymn of Faith p. 13 vv. 1 & 4 Penitential Rite, p. 66

Entrance Hymn V. Beloved, let us love one another, because love is of God; everyone who loves is be-gotten by God and knows God R. In this way, the love of God was revealed to us; God sent His only Son into the world that we might have life through Him. V. Glory be… R. As it was… A Reading from the Book of the Prophet Jeremiah. Jeremiah 31:31-34

The days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah. It will not be like the covenant I made with their fa-thers the day I took them by the hand to lead them forth from the land of Egypt; for they broke my covenant and I had to show myself their master, says the LORD. But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD. I will place my law within them, and write it upon their hearts; I will be their God, and they shall be my people. No longer will they have need to teach their friends and kinsmen how to know the LORD. All, from least to greatest, shall know me, says the LORD, for I will forgive their evildoing and remember their sin no more. This is the Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.

Psalm

If today you hear His voice, harden not your hearts. (Psalm 95) A reading from the First Letter of St. John. 1 John 4:17-21

IIn this is love brought to perfection among us, that we have confidence on the day of judgment because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment, and so one who fears is

Deacon’s Dialogue By: Rev. Mr. Richard Kasprzak

Thursday, and one more week until my new knee. It has been rough these days, working at getting our trailer ready for winter storage. Things that were so easy to do for years, have changed over t being almost impossible to do. Can’t kneel or squat down to get at something, and things that I could do easily, now I get done only because I have a great – no – a very great wife. I've known for a long time, just what a hard worker she is. For years, I prided myself (I know, pride is one of the deadly sins, but I think I’ve kept it under control most of the time) on being able to do stuff that she could not, and now that age is catching up, I see that with her help, I can still do some of the same stuff. I really think that is the reason God made us bigger and stronger than women, so that we can keep up with them. I know my wife can work me into the ground, then she will smile and say take a break while she just keeps on working. (Sure brings out the humility in us guys.) With my help, we got our trailer cleaned out for the winter, put stuff away, did the laundry and stored for next year, vacuumed and locked up. That is it for now. Thank God for women, and my wife especially, for all she does for our family. THE NATURE OF GOD IS A CIRCLE WHOSE CENTER IS EVERYWHERE AND WHOSE CIRCUMFERENCE IS NOWHERE. ~ST. AUGUSTINE

not yet perfect in love. We love because he first loved us. If anyone says, “I love God,” but hates his brother, he is a liar; for whoever does not love a brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. This is the commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother. This is the Word of the Lord Thanks be to God

Gospel Acclamation

V. Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia R. Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia V. This I command you: love one another R. Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia A reading from the Holy Gospel according to St. Luke. Lk 10:25-37

There was a scholar of the law who stood up to test him and said, “Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” Jesus said to him, “What is written in the law? How do you read it?” He said in reply, “You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your being, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as your-self.” He replied to him, “You have answered correctly; do this and you will live.” But because he wished to justify himself, he said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” Jesus replied, “A man fell victim to robbers as he went down from Jerusalem to Jericho. They stripped and beat him and went off leaving him half-dead. A priest happened to be go-ing down that road, but when he saw him, he passed by on the opposite side. Likewise a Levite came to the place, and when he saw him, he passed by on the opposite side. But a Samaritan traveler who came upon him was moved with compassion at the sight. He approached the victim, poured oil and wine over his wounds and bandaged them. Then he lifted him up on his own animal, took him to an inn and cared for him. The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper with the instruction, ‘Take care of him. If you spend more than what I have given you, I shall repay you on my way back.’ Which of these three, in your opinion, was neighbor to the robbers’ victim?” He answered, “The one who treated him with mercy.” Jesus said to him, “Go and do like-wise.” This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise be to You, Jesus Christ.
