Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time June 21, 2015
Whoever is in Christ is a new creation. — 2 Corinthians 5:17
THE WIND AND THE SEA Living along the shores of Lake Superior—the “big lake,” as the locals call it—you can often hear the ad-vice, “Respect the lake; don’t take it for granted.” Peo-ple who know Lake Superior respect its power and watch out for its many moods. Sunken ships and boats crushed into kindling are testimonies to what the lake can do. The readings of this Sunday evoke our memories of the lake, of the mighty Mississippi River, or of the ocean itself. Who but God can control these mighty wa-ters and set limits to their advance? The lake described in today’s Gospel was a body of water subject to sudden storms and churned into dangerous waves by terrible winds. But these mighty agents are subject to God. The sailor and the fisher all respect the water. Even more, they respect the awesome power of the Maker of wind and sea. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.
Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.
The devotion to the Eucharist is the most noble because it has God as its object; it is the most profitable for salvation, because it gives us the Author of Grace; it is the sweetest, because the
Lord is Sweetness Itself. (Pope St. Pius X)
We have Silent Eucharistic Adoration Every Wednesday St. Mary & St. Andrew’s
Church Noon until 3pm.
“Come to me, all you who labor and are bur-dened, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11: 28
Please join us for this most noble devotion to the Eucharist.

pledged to the appeal. Our goal is 100% participation in
stewardship to our church. Please do what-ever you can, no matter the amount.
Don’t forget, 60% of everything we donate over goal comes back to our parish.
There are envelopes at the doors of the church. God Bless

Topic: Contemplating Simple Things— The Bowl.
Something as simple as an empty bowl can be a symbol of openness and receptivity. It is a time of
reflection on this ordinary household item. Contemplating “the bowl” can be a prayerful and graceful experience.
Please join us, bring a bowl, that is special to you, and a friend.
There will be a free will offering. _____________________________________________________
Father’s Day Donation Envelopes
can be found at the doors of the church.
They will be kept on our altars from Father’s Day
to the end of July. ____________________________________
