Nineteenth Sunday in Ordinary Tine
August 6 & 7, 2016
Wisdom 18:6-9 On he long-awaited Passover night, God’s children
offered the paschal sacrifice.
Psalm 33 “Blessed the people the Lord has chosen to be his
own.”
Hebrews 11:1-2, 8-19 or By faith we join our ancestors in faith, as together in
11:1-2, 8-12 hope we journey toward our homeland.
Luke 12:32-48 or 12:35-40 The Son of Man will come at an unexpected hour..
Jesus wants to give us every chance to be ready for the return of the Lord. In the first
reading, we hear how our ancestors in faith prepared themselves for the night of the
Passover. In the second reading, Saint Paul recalls how Abraham’s faith made him ready to
do God’s will. So for us, Jesus’ warning must not go unheeded. As we hear God’s holy
word proclaimed today, let us listen for a word that will help us to be ready for the Lord’s
coming.
Twentieth Sunday in Ordinary Time
August 13 & 14, 2016

MAHALO AND SALAMAT
Thank you to everyone who organized, decorated the Parish Center,
served in the food line, played music, sang and danced, prepared banners
and the video presentation, and cleaned-up afterwards for the
celebration of the 15th Anniversary of my ordination to the diaconate.
Thank you also to all of you parishioners and friends who attended and
celebrated the event with me and my family. Most especial thanks to Fr.
Pascual who not only allowed the celebration to take place, but encour-
aged it. Salamat, Msgr. Ted, for your undeserved glowing praise of the
diaconate and my ministry.
The food was excellent and the ambience and fellowship was electric!
Your words of support, love and affirmation expressed to me will be a
source of energy and strength, encouragement, and hope as I strive to
serve all of you in the parish and diocese, God willing, for many more
years.
To those who were unable to attend, I want to express my sincere aloha,
for you are also the inspiration and reason for my call to ministry.
I WAS ORDAINED TO SERVE ALL OF YOU…..PRAISE GOD!!
