Survey on Homework Reveals Acceptance, Despite Some Gripes By Debra Viadero Homework is deemed as valuable. From a survey conducted in 2009, more than 80 percent of parents believe that children are doing the “right amount” or too little” homework. Link Found Between Heavy Use of Facebook and Eating Disorders By Judy Siegel Study identifies a link between the frequency of Facebook access and eating disorders. It Takes a Village, Not a Tiger By Pollitt Katha Parents who consider themselves a type, whether a “tiger mom” or a “helicopter parent” or even a “free spirit,” are bound to have better adjusted children than those parents who do not fall under these labels. According to this article, it is time and resources that lead to the successful future of so many young students not a particular type of strategic parenting. How Parents Became Cool; TV Finds Teens Like Their Moms and Attempts to Flatter Both

By Amy Chozick TV executives have changed the way parents are portrayed on TV. Think back to Ward and June, the Cunninghams, and even the Huxtables. On televisions, these parents were often viewed as “out-of-touch and unhip.” These Millennials seem be “less rebellious” and are changing television. Young people are not cast as rebels and trouble-makers. Parents are often more in-touch with their children; even their friends. Additionally, this article reports that more teens now watch the same TV shows as their parents.
