How to Set up Parental Controls with your Interactive Programming Guide�

Press ‘Menu’ on your EastLink Remote control to access the ‘Quick Menu’. Press ‘OK’ to access the ‘Main

Menu’ options.

Use the ‘Arrow’ buttons on your remote to scroll to the ‘Parental Controls’ folder and press ‘OK’ to

access.

You will be prompted to create and enter a 4-digital numerical PIN and press ‘OK’. This PIN will be used

to access the Parental Controls folder in the future as well as access any locked content/channels.

Once in the main ‘Parental Controls’ menu you are presented with the below options to change your

PIN, lock services, content, channels, hide titles, etc.

Movie Rating Locks

‘Movie Rating Locks’ allows you prevent unwanted viewers from watching Adult movies or inappropriate

programming. Press ‘OK’ to access.

The ‘Movie Rating Locks’ folder allows you to lock movie content based on the rating. Using the ‘Arrow

cursors’ on your remote, scroll to the rating you would like locked and press ‘OK’. Press ‘OK’ again to

unlock this rating. Once a rating is locked, users must enter the unique PIN you created to access.

TV Rating Locks

‘TV Rating Locks’ allows you prevent unwanted viewers from watching Adult TV programs or

inappropriate TV programs. Press ‘OK’ to access.

The ‘TV Rating Locks’ folder allows you to lock any TV content based on the rating. Using the ‘Arrow

cursors’ on your remote, scroll to the rating you would like locked and press ‘OK’. Press ‘OK again to

unlock this rating. Once a rating is locked, users must enter the unique PIN you created to access.

Service Locks

The ‘Service Locks’ folder allows you to prevent users from accessing OnDemand. Please note: this

will prevent access of all OnDemand folders and not just Adult or inappropriate content.

Press ‘OK’ to access the ‘Service Locks’ folder. Within the ‘Service Lock’ folder, press ‘OK’ to lock

OnDemand services. Press ‘OK’ again to unlock OnDemand. Once OnDemand is locked, users must

enter the unique PIN you created to access.

Hide Titles

The ‘Hide Titles’ folder allows users to hide the programming titles for Adult rated programming or

Adult and 18+ rated programming.

Press ‘OK’ to access the ‘Hide Titles’ folder. Using the ‘Arrow cursors’ on your remote, choose to hide

Adult rated program titles only or Adult and 18+ rated programming titles and press ‘OK’. Press ‘OK

again to unhide these titles.

Channel Locks

The ‘Channel Locks’ folder allows users to prevent access to TV channels deemed as Adult or

inappropriate.

Press ‘OK’ on your remote to access the ‘Channel Locks’ folder. You can prevent access to any channel

by using the ‘Arrow cursors’ on your remote to scroll to the desired channel. Press ‘OK’ to lock the

channel and press ‘OK’ again to unlock. Once a channel is locked, users must enter the unique PIN you

created to access.
