The Centre for Musical Minds Financial Responsibility Contract

By signing this agreement, you acknowledge your financial responsibilities to the Centre for Musical Minds. You are acknowledging that you have read, understand and agree to our tuition handbook, including missed lesson and makeup policies, available at www.CentreforMusicalMinds.org.

All tuition is due on the 1st of each month, one month in advance. See detailed summary of tuition below. Commitment is for one semester at a time and unless we receive a 30-day notification of withdrawal, we assume you will be continu-ing your musical journey with us. A $15 late fee will be applied to your account if tuition payments are received after the 3rd of the month. Accounts past due after the 5th of the month will result in lesson cancellation. All past-due accounts receive a courtesy email and phone call before lesson termination occurs. Should something come up where you cannot financially fulfill your commitment to your child’s piano lessons, we appreciate and encourage advanced notice and open, ongoing communication with our office.

SERIOUS HOBBY

30 or 45-minute lessons - Participation in one or two recitals throughout the year. - Students are required to practice 15 minutes each day, 4 days per week.

PRE-PROFESSIONAL

SERIOUS HOBBY

60 - minute lessons - Participation in all recitals and judged events throughout the year, plus The Royal Conservatory Exams as well as extra adjudicated events. - Students study a mix of classical repertoire, popular genres, extensive technique and collegiate level theory. - Students are required to practice 60 to 90 minutes each day, 5/6 days per week.

45 or 60-minute lessons - Participation in all recitals and judged events throughout the year. Consider a creative performance such as the Clavinova Festival or Roland Piano Idol. - Students study a mix of classical repertoire, popular genres, some technique and theory. - Students are required to practice 30 to 45 minutes each day, 5 days per week. - Most recommended course of study at CMM.

*Students who wish to participate in The Royal Conservatory Development Program are required to enroll in separate performance and theory classes. The goal of each student is to pass the exams with a score of 70 or above.

Teacher Recommendation: All

*All pre-professional students are required to enroll in a separate theory and performance classes. The goal of each student is to achieve a score in the upper 80’s/low 90’s.

By signing this agreement, you acknowledge and understand what your tuition covers, as well as our attendance policy at the Centre for Musical Minds. By signing this document, you are acknowledging that you have read, understand and agree to our tuition handbook and absence policies available at www.CentreforMusicalMinds.org.

At the Centre for Musical Minds, we are all professional music teachers. Because we are experienced, degreed music professionals with full schedules, we do not schedule individual makeup lessons. Imagine what ten cancellations in one week would do! Please understand we do this to be fair to all of our students as well as to protect our personal time. If we do have a cancellation, we will contact you by the email address we have listed on file.

At the Centre for Musical Minds, we feel everyone deserves one makeup class per semester in the event of illness, family emergency or school event. Makeup classes are not for students who miss lessons due to play dates, games, non-emergency doctor appointments or family vacations. Our calendar is published well in advance so please make sure you check your personalized Studio Helper Calendar AND our website calendar for performance and vacation dates, locations and times. Makeup classes are in the form of small group performance classes and TBD; 3 students must sign up in order for the class to be held.
