Corps History• 116 RCSCC Skeena formed in 1941• 2015-2016 will be our 75th Training Year• Named after HMCS Skeena 1931-1944• Our current ship (3rd) was opened in 1958 by the

late Governor General of Canada; The Honourable Vincent Massey ( 1st Canadian Born GGofC )

( Cadet Instructors Cadre )

• Commissioned members of the Canadian Forces• Responsible to CF, to deliver the cadet program• Cadets are NOT members of the CF• Courses at various CF Bases

DND and NL Relationship• DND/CF = Department of National Defence• NL = Navy League of Canada• Local Branch, NLofC Northumberland Branch• DND provides summer camps, training,

uniforms, instructors• NL provides facilities, utilities, extra training
