Last week we learned about Moses, his early life and the calling to lead Israelout of Egypt. This week we see how this task unfolds and how YHVH rescue Hispeople from bondage. The Torah Portion starts in Exo 6:3 that said; “ And Iappeared, “Va’era,” to Abraham, I saac and Jacob by the name El Shaddai, but

My Name YHVH was not known to them.”  Abraham, Isaac and Jacob knewYHVH as the God of the Covenant, the one Who called them, but the nameYHVH is revealed to Moses and Israel, at the time of their deliverance. A newNam means a new direction and Israel is about meet the God of the Covenant,El Shaddai, in another light, as the God their Saviour, that is revealed in thename YHVH. We have studied this Name in detail and saw how this Name islinked and related to the Name of Messiah, which is Y’shua, Yah – Saves.

    From Slave to Soldier

We saw in last week’s Torah Portion the calling ofMoses, the saviour of the people of YHVH. Thesalvation they received the first time around ended upin bondage, and they have to be “saved” again. Thisimplies that you have to be “saved twice”; the firsttime was done through the picture of Joseph(MessiahBen Yoseph), the suffering Servant, and the “second“salvation” or “second phase” of salvation is where people are “saved” from their“comfort zones.” This comfort zone was created within their first salvation, wherethey became passive and “fat,” as symbolised by King Agag. This “secondphase of salvation” happens when they are taken out of this bondage, leading

them into the wilderness. This is the place where they have the “Mountainexperience,” receiving and embracing the Commandments of YHVH.

This second phase of “salvation” is to train and prepare them for their journeythrough the Wilderness (life) where YHVH will use them before they enter thePromised Land. The “second phase of salvation” involves the Mountainexperience where Moses will receive the Torah, the Training Manual that willteach the people of YHVH how to become a Holy Mighty Nation that willinfluence and impact the whole world.

If you are saved and still in Egypt, then you are useless and worthless to YHVHand others around you. You need to leave Egypt, out of your comfort zone to beequipped with His Word, so that you can be effective to reach people forYHVH’s Kingdom. Then, and only then will you become part of YHVH’s Army asprophesied over Gad. This was where King David (Messiah) will be theCommander Who will lead His army to free His people from bondage and takeback what the enemy has stolen. Moses had to go up the Mountain, and itshows us that it takes effort on your part, to be in this Army of YHVH. This armyis assembled and trained at Sinai so that they can go into the Wilderness to setthe captives free.

    Liberation through Signs and Wonders

We all are familiar with the story of Israel’s deliverance and how YHVH freed Hispeople through the ten plagues. The interesting thing is that the word “plague” only appears once in the Torah, and it is found in this Torah Portion. What weknow as plagues, YHVH calls signs, wonders and judgements. The place wherethe word “plague” is found, is in Exo 9:13-35, where YHVH unleashes theSeventh Plague. This is a stronger word than “signs and wonders” and indicatesthat it had a more severe consequence to the people of Egypt.

The ten “plagues” were actually judgements against the gods of Egypt whereevery plague can be connected to an Egyptian god. This can be confirmed byresearching Egyptian mythology. The gods or things they worshipped becamethe judgements YHVH allowed to come upon them. They worshipped the Nile, frogs, the sun, etc. All these became judgements through signs and wonders toset them free from these bondages.

Spiritual Insight: We should be careful of what we idolise and “worship,”placing it higher than YHVH, and which things we allocate more time to thanour relationship with Him. The reality is that the things we worship other thanYHVH will become a “consequence” in the form of a plague that will be

released upon you. If you idolise money, then your finances will become aplague and cause judgement to come upon you.

The Plagues of YHVH vs. the Gods of Egypt

    1. The first plague, turning water into blood, revealed theimpotence of Khnum, the guardian of the river, Hapi, the spiritof the Nile, and Osiris, whose blood was the Nile.

    2. The second plague, the frogs, revealed the impotence of Hapiand Heket, who were symbolised by frogs and were related toEgyptian fertility rites.

    3. The third plague, that of lice, revealed the impotence of Seb, theearth god.

  • 8/20/2019 Parashah 14- Va'Era (I Appeared)

    3/13

      3

    4. The fourth plague; that of flies, revealed the impotence of Uatchit, the god of flies.

    5. The fifth plague, the disease on cattle, revealed the impotence ofPtah, Mnevis, Hathor, and Amon, Egyptian gods associated withbulls and cows.

    6. The sixth plague, the plague of boils, revealed the impotence ofSekhmet, the goddess of epidemics, and Imhotep, the god ofhealing.

    7. The seventh plague, the hail mixed with fire, revealed theimpotence of Nut, the sky goddess, Isis and Seth, Egyptianagricultural deities, and Shu, the god of the atmosphere, weather, and sky.

    8. The eighth plague, the swarms of locusts, revealed the impotence ofSerapia, the deity who was to protect Egypt from locusts.

    9. The ninth plague that of darkness revealed the impotence of Re, Amon-re, Aten, Atum, and Horus, all of who were related to the sun.

    10. Finally, the tenth plague, the death of the firstborn sons of Egypt, revealed the impotence of Pharaoh himself, who was worshipped asa deity in Egypt.

Personal Appl ication: YHVH does not want to bring judgement uponpeople but rather bring it upon their gods they serve. Thereason for this is that they can be released from the bondagethey are clinging to, and worship the one and only true Godinstead. YHVH will not hesitate to remove any barriers thatare between Him and His people because He loves us toomuch. My advice is that you have to let go of the thigs youare attached to, things that come in between you and Him.You are going to get hurt if you are still holding on to the“bondage” or the “idol” when He judges it. It is time to assessyour life and let go of the things that stand between you andHim. Be wise and let go.

Q – How do we pray for people or loved ones who are still in “bondage”?

Practical Application: YHVH has already done everything in His power tosave them; the work is done, and Messiah has done it. The only thing left todo is to remove the barrier between the person and YHVH. This can be donethrough prayer. Pray and ask YHVH to bring judgement upon their gods, the

things that hold them back. Ask Him to remove the barriers between themand YHVH so that YHVH can reveal Himself to them. Messiah came to setthe captives free (Isa 61:1, Luke 4:18), and it is His will to lead people out ofspiritual Egypt, out of any captivity the enemy may have put on them. It is thetime for release, and we should pray for the captives to be set free from theslavery of sin and “idol worship,” whatever their idol might be. YHVH will judge that idol, and it is them up to the individual to choose to follow YHVHor not. Without the bondage, the choice will be easier and the optionsclearer. When this happens, don’t say, I told you so, support them in loveand help them to build a relationship with the Father.

    Four Compromises of the Enemy

We read in the Parashah something that stands out; the way Pharaoh wantedMoses to compromise four times. Each time the plague came, Pharaoh wantedto bargain with Moses, trying to make a deal so that he can maintain control ofthe people.

    1. Serving Two Masters: Exo 8:21 - You can beslaves to me and serve your god as well. Pharaohasked Moses not to go and to sacrifice in Egypt. Heis actually asking them to remain slaves in Egyptbut allow them to worship their God in slavery.

Satan is suggesting that they can make up for theirsin through sacrificing to YHVH, but staying inslaves in bondage. There is no mention ofrepentance, only grace and forgiveness. They wanted to live life their wayand bring sacrifices to appease YHVH in order to cancel out theconsequences of their sins. It is similar to keep on sinning and keep onasking forgiveness without true repentance. This is like serving twoMasters, the one you love and the other you hate as Y’shua taught in Matt6:24.

    2. Stay Close: Exo 8:24 – Pharaoh suggest to Moses to go out andworship God, but not too far. Three day’s journey is too far; “…just gooutside the city’s borders”. How many times have you decided to serveYHVH with everything you have and then your “yester harah” or evilinclination suggests that you should not be over zealous and radical.

“You do not want to become a fanatic”. A good example if this is whenLot chooses to stay in the gates of Sodom while Abraham moved tothe mountainous areas. Lot compared himself to the people of Sodomand thought he was righteous. Abraham compared himself to theMountain (YHVH’s Standards) the true measure of righteousness. Whowas the most righteous, Lot or Abraham? Satan wants us just tooutperform the worst sinner and then tells us we are ok. It is like gamblingwith your salvation, hanging from a damaged rope.

    3. Divide the Family: Exo 10:11  – Pharoah saidthat they can go 3 days into the wilderness to

sacrifice, but only the men were allowed to go.He is asking them to leave your families behind. These are the people who serve YHVH with allthat they have, but they ignore their families. They are devoted and on fire for YHVH, but theirfamilies is a wreck. This is because they do notput their family before their calling.

In last week’s Portion, we saw that after YHVH had called Moses, Hewanted to kill him because he did not take care of his family before he wentto fulfil what YHVH asked of him. He had to go back to circumcise his sonbefore taking on the mission. YHVH said to Moses; “Wait a minute, you aregoing to Pharaoh to let My Firstborn Son (Israel) go, but you haven’t givenyour firstborn to me yet”. Take care of your family first and then do what

YHVH asks of you. Your family’s salvation is more important than yourcalling. You must put your family before your service to YHVH. Paul saidin 1 Tim 3:5 that you cannot be a leader if your house in not in order andthis follows the same principle. If you let your family stay behind in Egypt, while you lead others out, then you are following this tactic of Satan.

    4. Free Love: Pharaoh agreed that they could go, butthey had to leave their flocks and herds behind. This means that they can go but have nothing tosacrifice to YHVH. Some people are willing tofollow YHVH until the point where it cost themsomething. They follow Him up to the point wherethey have to make a sacrifice unto Him. This is likesending people into the world with knowledge ofYHVH but without a relationship with Him.Sacrifices mean “to draw near” to come closer to YHVH. Without

    “sacrifices” there is no relationship.

Moses and Aaron became Echad / One

Exo 6:27 They were the ones who spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bringout the children of Israel from Egypt. He was Moses and Aaron.

The verse reads; They (ham) were the ones that spoke to Pharaoh. He (hoo)was Moses and Aaron. We see it starts with a plural“they”, referring to Moses and Aaron and then at theend of the verse uses “Hey-vav- Aleph”, pronounced“hoo” that means “he”, that is singular. It still refer s toMoses and Aaron but in the singular using “he”instead of “they”. This is not a grammatical error butshows us something deeper. It seems like Mosesand Aaron were seen as one person as if their

identities became one. For example, when Aaronmade the golden calf, thousands of people werekilled, but nothing happened to Aaron. When Aaronand Miriam gossiped about Moses, Miriam got

leprosy and nothing happened to Aaron. But when Moses struck the rock,Moses and Aaron could not enter the Promised Land. Aaron received the samepunishment as Moses, showing us that YHVH saw them as one person with oneidentity. It is as if Aaron’s personality is completely centred around Moses.

Q – Why is Aaron not seen as his own person?

We have to go back to last week’s Portion to chapter 4 to see what this is allabout.

      6

Exo 4:13-14  But he said, “O my Lord, please send by the hand ofwhomever else You may send .”   14 So the anger of the Lord was kindledagainst Moses, and He said: “Is not Aaron the Levite your brother? Iknow that he can speak well. And look, he is also coming out to meetyou. When he sees you, he will be glad in his heart.  15 Now you shallspeak to him and put the words in his mouth. And I will be with your

mouth and with his mouth, and I will teach you what you shall do.  16 Sohe shall be your spokesman to the people. And he himself shall be as amouth for you, and you shall be to him as God.  17 And you shall take thisrod in your hand, with which you shall do the signs.”

We read in Exo 4:13 where Moses asked YHVH to send someone else to leadIsrael out of Egypt and at this point YHVH got furious with Moses’ excuses. Thisis the point in time where the “one man mission” became a “two-man mission”.The task was divided and given to Moses and Aaron. Aaron is referred to thetribe of Levite, “levi” means, “connected”. This means that he is connected toMoses from now on in regards to the calling of YHVH.

Then YHVH said to Moses that He would reveal the words to Moses and Moseshas to tell it to Aaron and Aaron will give the message to Pharaoh. Aaron willbecome Moses’ mouth, and Moses will become Aaron’s “Elohim”. FromPharaoh’s point of view, Moses will be God and Aaron will be his Prophet thatreveals the message from God to man, in this case, Pharaoh. Aaron is themouth, and Moses gets to keep the staff to perform the miracles. The mission isnow equally divided among the two of them.

When we get to chapter 7 we see conflicts to what we just read.

Chapter 7:9 - Aaron cast his rod before Pharaoh, not Moses

Verse 14 - YHVH is telling Moses to take his rod, not Aaron’s   Verse 17 - YHVH says it is His staff that will be raised over the waters,

    not Moses’s or Aaron’s staff.

Verse 19 - Aaron stretches his rod over the waters, not Moses.

Verse 20 - It says it is Moses and Aaron doing what YHVH commanded.

Chapter 8:5 Aaron stretches his rod over the streams and frogs cameforth, not Moses.

Q – What is going on? Are these contradictions in the Scripture or is theresomething we can learn from this?

This is not by accident or an error in Scripture or a case of losing track of who’s

staff it is and who performed the sign and wonder in the eyes of Pharaoh.

The reason for this is that sin brings division. Sin brings death because theWord tells us that he that commits a sin will surely die. Death does not meanthat you cease to exist, death means separation, that the body is separated fromthe soul and the lost soul is separated from YHVH. Moses’s sin caused division, and the mission was split and executed by two people, Moses & Aaron.

Moses is the teacher, and Aaron brings the people closer to YHVH. Heb 3:1.Partakers of a heavenly calling (Moses), consider Y’shua the Apostle and HighPriest. Apostle means to be sent, “seliak” in Hebrew. Moses was sent by YHVH

to Pharaoh. High priest’s job is to bring the people closer to YHVH and tofacilitate the sacrificial system. In Messiah the two functions of Moses and Aaronbecome one again, Y’shua reuniting them in His hand.

  • 8/20/2019 Parashah 14- Va'Era (I Appeared)

    7/13

      7

If you see Me you have seen the Father. We read in the NT that when Y’shuaspeaks that it is the Father speaking to us. Y’shua is the “seliak” the Apostle thatspeaks to us as well as the High Priest of the Father, similar to the functionsMoses and Aaron Performed where we see one as the Father interacting withus and then Y’shua interacting with us. The Father and the Son is One or Ecad

the same way we see Moses and Aaron being One. They interact, and the rolesand words flow seamlessly from the one to the other, to and fro as if on or theother and sometimes both perform the act.

    YHVH Knows

There is another gem to uncover in this passagewhere YHVH said, “look, he is already coming…”  YHVH knew what Moses is going to say because Aaron was already on his way, that was probablya few days travel. The “cure” or the provision was

already provided before Moses committed the sin.

Personal Application: YHVH is always onestep ahead of us, and He knows how we aregoing to react or respond. Even if you aregoing through troubled times, He has alreadyprovided the outcome, and it is on its way before you even knowing that youhad the need. There are three levels of faith; the first is a desperate cry forhelp with your faith towards YHVH. This is the immature type of faith whereyou are not sure whether He will help or not. The Second type of faith iswhen you know what His Words say about the situation, and you ask Him

and keep on asking until you receive the outcome. This is a higher type offaith, and you might see results. The third type of faith I call “progressivefaith”. This is where you know He has provided, and you thank Him as if Hehas already provided. This is the type of faith YHVH expects of us, the“knowing faith”, not asking faith or desperate crying faith.

    YHVH sets the Table

Exo 6:6–8  Therefore say unto the children of Israel: ‘I am YHVH , and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I

will rid you out from their bondage, and I willredeem you with an outstretched arm and withgreat judgments. 7 And I will take you to Me fora people, and I will be to you a God; and yeshall know that I am YHVH your Elohim, whobrings you out from under the burdens of the

Egyptians. 8 And I will bring you in unto the land, concerning which Iswore to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it toyou for a heritage: I am YHVH .’”

These verses start off and end with the phrase “…I am YHVH” emphasising andmaking the verses contained within, very important. We see four statements

    within this passage:

  • 8/20/2019 Parashah 14- Va'Era (I Appeared)

    8/13

      8

    1. I will bring you out  – Bring is the word, “yatsa” aoy (Gen 1:12) This isfound in the story of Creation where YHVH created the green grass, theplants and trees that will bear fruit.

    2. I will rid you of f bondage  – Rid  is the word, “natsal” lon (Gen 31:9)

Jacob spoke to Rachael and Leah and told them that YHVH has takenaway the cattle from Laban and gave them to him. Jacob told them of theangel that appeared to him and informed him that the Angel will help himto leave this land and return to his father ’s land.

    3. I will redeem you wi th an outs tretched arm  – Redeem is the word,

“ga-al” lag (Gen 48:16) This was where Jacob blessed Ephraim andManasseh and said; ”the Angel redeemed me from all evil”. What Angel? This was the Messenger whom I believe was Messiah, Who he wrestledwith Jacob all night. The “outstretched arm” is the arm that touchedJacob’s hip and caused him to have a different “walk”.

    4. I will take you for Me as a People  – Take is the word, “ laqach” xql (Gen 2:15) This is where YHVH placed man in the Garden of Eden andgave him the First Commandment regarding the trees. The way realestate law works is that the owner puts restrictions on the land He owns, this proofs that he is the owner. In this case, YHVH placed a restrictionon the Garden and on the trees showing man that it all belongs to Himand that He is the owner. In this verse, YHVH will place restrictions onIsrael to “take them” as a possession, and this will be seen at the givingof the Ten Commandments.

Q – Have you realise what these four statements mean and where they are

used? These are the topics that describe the Four Cups at Passover, and each Cuprepresents one of four things; to bring out, to free from bondage, to beredeemed and to be taken as a possession by YHVH.

In the context of what we just looked at, these four Cups represent four steps weto go through as believers after receiving the Blood of Redemption:

    1. We are created for a purpose and that purpose, just like the trees, andthat is to bear fruit. In the NT we read about this fruit and is called theFruit of the Spirit. The First Cup is to bear the fruit of the Sprit.

    2. Secondly, we will be blessed so that we can be taken out of the land ofbondage back to the land of our Father. The Second Cup is to engage inthe “second phase” of salvation, and that is to leave our comfort zone andhead for the Promised Land by embracing the Mountain first, on our wayto the Promised Land.

    3. Before we return to the Promised Land, YHVH will take you through aprocess of cleansing where He will rid you of your fleshiness where allevil resides. He will be in the midst of situations in which He will hideHimself and then, as you wrestle with the situation, He will change you.The Third Cup is about the Wilderness between the Mountain and thePromised Land where He will change your “walk”.

  • 8/20/2019 Parashah 14- Va'Era (I Appeared)

    9/13

      9

    4. Lastly, He will take ownership of you as you willingly submit under Hisrule and command. This is where you will enter the Kingdom (Garden),living in the Land, worship your King and abide by His Government, which is His Commandments. The Fourth Cup is theprocess of “change of ownership” where you will nolonger belong to yourself, but to Him. This is whereyou will have a relationship with Him, living underthe “restrictions” He placed on you through HisCommandments.

Welcome to the Passover Table where we will sit andcelebrate the stages of our redemption. These are thethings Israel went through, and these are the things we willgo through before entering the Promised Land, theKingdom of YHVH, also known as the “Garden of Eden”.

A lot of Believers in Messiah replace the Passover with Communion and miss

out on these Four Cups and what they represent. When Y’shua sat with HisDisciples, explaining to them what He will go through as the Passover Lamb, Hepartook of these Four Cups except for the last one, the one He will drink with usin the Kingdom after His Second Coming. We will go deeper into this topic at thecelebration of the Passover explaining all the symbolism.

The Ten Plagues in End Time Context

The 10 plagues can be grouped into three groups of three with the tenth plagueon its own. The same pattern can be seen in the book of Revelation with threegroups of Plagues; the Seal Judgements, the Trumpet Judgements and the

Bowl Judgements at the end. Always look for these parallels because the onewill speak to the other and reveal more wisdom to us looking at both of them atthe same time. We will cover plagues 1 to 7 in this Parashah and compare themwith the matching plagues in Revelation. Next week we will look at theremaining 3 Plagues.

    Plague Egypt Tribulation

    1 - Water becomesblood.

    1. Water turned into blood : The number one source ofEgypt’s prosperity was the Nile River compared toIsrael’s number one source of prosperity, rain. Thedifference between the two is that the Egyptians hadto pump the water to irrigate their crops using man’s efforts. Israel had to depend on YHVH for sending rainin its season. This makes YHVH their God while theEgyptians worshipped the Nile.

We read in Revelation that at the sounding of the 2nd Trumpet, a great mountain was cast into the sea and a 1/3 part of the seabecame blood. What does the mountain signify? Where the word mountain isfirst used in Scripture in in Gen 12:8 where Abram moved to a mountain andbuild an altar there to worship unto YHVH. Mountain or high place alwayssignifies a place of worship or a place where you will meet YHVH. Is that whatthe Tower of Babel was all about, trying to reach God? The sea alwaysrepresents the Nations and the “mountain cast into the sea” implies the

“worship system” or “means to connect to God”, was cast into the place itoriginated from, the nations. A 1/3 part of the sea turned to blood means thata third part of people in the nations will die as their religious system is being judged. It is as if YHVH took the “Tower of Babel” and cast it into the nations, using their “System of Worship” to bring judgement upon them.

    2. Frogs: According to Revelation16:13, frogs imply evil or falsespirits that came from threedifferent systems or entities at thepouring out of the 6th or 2nd last

Vial or Bowl. The first was theunclean spirit of the Dragon, thesecond came from the Beast, and the third came out of the mouth of theFalse Prophet. These three unclean spirits control three different areas ofpower in this world. The Dragon is also known as the Serpent and representsSatan, the Beast represents the Spirit behind the Political System, and theFalse Prophet represents the Spirit behind the Religious System. Thesespirits went out across the earth to gather people to become part of their“army” that will fight against YHVH during the battle of Armageddon.

YHVH said to Moses that He would smite the “borders” of the enemy with

Frogs. This word for “borders” is also used in Exo 19:12 where YHVH saidthat the people who enter the border at the foot of Mt Sinai would be put todeath. This was at the event of receiving the Ten Commandments. So theBorder that sanctified the Mountain is what protected it and set it apart. Thosewho crossed that border, who were not holy, died.

We read in Exo 8 that Frogs were used to smite or destroy the “borders” ofEgypt, the Borders defined Egypt and “set them apart” from other nations. This means that the Evil Spirits that are sent to assemble an army againstYHVH will be the Spirits that will destroy the borders that define and protectsthe kingdom of the enemy. YHVH will turn the demonic forces on the very

“System” that it tries to expand. We saw an example of this when Gideon and300 men went up against the enemy and where YHVH confused the enemy, turning the enemy upon themselves. This is how YHVH will defeat this evil

System with their armies at the battle of Armageddon. Armageddon meansMount of Slaughter but is actually a valley. This battle will happen at theSecond return of Messiah Y’shua after the Great Tribulation (Mat. 24 v.27-31).

    3. Lice: Exo 8:17 Aaron hit the dust of the earth and lice or

gnats came forth to plague Egypt. Lice is the word “kan” ]k  that comes from the root word “kanan”  ]nk means“root, support or vineyard”. This word is only used once inScripture in Psa 80:15 where it describes the Vineyardthat was planted by the right hand of YHVH and theBranch that was made strong. The Branch always refersto Messiah. This implies that the lice is a picture of the“dust” as referred to in the Covenant promise made to Abraham. The Vineyardrepresents the Believers in Messiah that are held up and nourish by the Branch, which is Messiah Y’shua. This word “kanan” is a homophone to and sounds

similar to the word “canaan” ]ink with ani “Ayin” (eye) inserted. Canaan isthe name of the Promised Land Believers in Messiah will inherit and indwell. The symbol of the rod of Aaron hitting the Dust is the prophetic picture ofYHVH’s  people being “hit” by the rod or oppression by  Pharaoh. Thispersecution caused them to multiply like “lice” or “the dust of the earth”.Persecution brings multiplication. Difficult situations stretch and grow you.

The context of Rev 11:6 is the time of the 2nd Woe where the Two Witnessessmote the earth with whatever plagues they want. The Beast (Politicalsystem) will come and make war with them, overcome them and kill them. They will lie dead in the street for 3 days and resurrected after that and be

taken up to YHVH. This is a prophetic foreshadow of the witnesses that willdie during this time, but they will be resurrected at the second Resurrection(Rev 20:5).

    4. Flies: Swarms were sent to the people of Egypt. The Hebrew

word “arob” bri  that does not mean flies, but means swarm. This is similar to the previous plague where the people’s houseswill be filled with insects and is a prophetic picture of YHVH’speople being raised up from among the nations during the time ofthe Tribulation. We have looked at the Frog plague earlier and

saw the three evil Spirits it depicts. This confirms the “flies”representing YHVH’s people who will be “saved” from the “frogs”.Rev 7:9 states that there will be a great multitude of people beforethe Throne of YHVH that cannot be counted, representing the“swarms” of people being saved during the Tribulation. The two plagues of liceand flies represent the Two Phases of Salvation; the First Coming and SecondComing of Y’shua and all the saints that came into the Kingdom because ofthese two great salvation acts of YHVH.

    5. Livestock destroyed: Exo 9:6 states that the cattle of theEgyptians died but the livestock of the Children of Israel did not.Livestock is found in Gen 13:12 where it refers to Abrahambeing rich in cattle and livestock. This implies that cattlerepresent provision and blessings during a time of need. Youcan think for yourself during a time of war and turmoil that thenormal daily activities like going to work will not be possible.People will not be able to earn a living and make money duringthese times and yet YHVH show to us through His Word that Hispeople will be looked after during these times. Rev 8:9 states that a 1/3 part ofall the creatures in the sea died and a 1/3 part of the ships destroyed. The searepresents the nations, and the ships are the vessels of trade and commerce. This plague affects the business sector and the money system where peoplewill not have an income except those who follow YHVH. The rest of the peoplewill “sell their souls” for food stamps and receive the mark of the Beast duringthis time.

    6. Boils: Exo 9:10 - YHVH told Moses and Aaron to take handsfull of ashes from the furnace and sprinkle it towards heaven inthe sight of Pharaoh. This caused the plague of Boils to come

upon the people. Ashes  is the word “peyach“ xyp and comefrom the root word “puach” xvp that means, “ to breathe or toblow and lies.” There is a word that sounds similar to this word and alsomeans “breath”. “Puach” is a homophone of and sounds just like “Ruach” thatrepresents the Spirit of YHVH. This gives us the understanding that Puach isSatan’s evil Spirit, the counterfeit Ruach or Holy Spirit. Just like we found a

counterfeit Messiah, so we find a counterfeit “holy spirit”. This is the second“Gimel” we saw in the previous Torah Portion in the name Agag, the king ofthe flesh. Agag has two “gimels” where the Gimel also represent the Spirit ofYHVH.

Rev 16:2 speaks about the people who became covered with grievous soresor boils, those who had the mark of the Beast and worshipped the Image. This shows us that “Beast-worship” is worshipping YHVH, but under theinfluence of the wrong “holy spirit”, the spirit called Puach that came from theashes of the furnace. Those who worship YHVH under the influence of thisspirit will return to the ashes into the Furnace (Lake of Fire). Only the true

worshippers worship the Father in Spirit (Ruach) and Truth (His Word). Thosewho worship the Image (false image of YHVH), worship Him in spirit (Puach)and Lies (false doctrines). John 4:23. Watch out for deception, the false spiritis among us and feed people lies (fat bread) and worship the Father in thewrong spirit.

Boils are the word “shechiyin” ]yxs that means “enflamed like leprosy“ and“to burn”. It comes from an unknown root that means “to blech forth” or toeject gas spasmodically and noisily from the stomach through the mouth likevomiting. It also means to gush forth smoke and fire from the mouth of adragon. This is a manifestation of this evil spirit in the people who think they

worship YHVH but have the wrong spirit.

    7. Hail: Exo 9:18 – YHVH brought forth rain and grievous hailthe size of a talent (26kg) such as the Egyptians has neverseen. Thunder, hail and fire came from heaven just like it isdescribed in Rev 16:21 when the 7th Trumpet sounded. Theplague of the hail was very great, and man blasphemedYHVH. Q – How can hail and fire exist together? Hail ismade up of water and fire. We know that water and firecannot exist together. This is the same picture as at Creationwhere the Spirit of YHVH, (Shin representing Fire), moved over the watersand separated the waters below from the waters above. With this plague wesee the same thing happening, a separation process between people ofYHVH and the people cursing YHVH. I believe this is the place where the“separation or gathering” of the people will take place. The separation of thewaters below (evil people) from waters above (righteous people) and thegathering of the saints as described in Matthew.

Matt 24:30-31 “  Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of

Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will seethe Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and greatglory. And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, andthey will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heavento the other.”

The next seven Vials or Bowl plagues are more severe judgements upon theearth and relates to the last three plagues as seen in the Exodus. We will look atthese in the next Torah Portion.
