The trailer first started of with a male character (father) who is talking to a child (daughter). It then changed into this black screen with a special effect which suggests to its audience that this movie is captured from a broken/ old camcorder; Documentary.

We know that this movie is non –linear as it starts of from a video of the past to the future; not in order.

Most of the characters that were captured in this trailer were children which mean that they could be the main target of someone/something in the movie.

The intertitles in this movie is simple and short – direct messages to its audience. The font it uses is also the same as what they use for criminal investigations which connotes mystery in the movie

From this clip, audiences may think that this is a sci-fi genre movie, but because of the dark lighting and also the time shown on the bottom right corner of the screen, people’s view of its genre may change into a horror/documentary.

From this short intertitle, it is informing us that everything that was shown previously were from the past. This will help those audience who hasn’t seen the previews paranormal activity sequence to gain a better understanding of the movie.

The 3rd picture shows the point of equilibrium – Calm and leaving their daily lives.

This is the scene were the disruption is about to occur.

This scene shows the point of realisation were the girl is starting to wonder why the lights have turned off as she moves the camcorder around her – this creates suspense to the audience as they too do not know what is happening – feeling of what it’s like to be in the story.

They have edited the title of the movie to suit its genre; shaky – broken camcorder, greenish colour – video night vision.

These two clips can be used as an enigma as it makes audiences question themselves, e.g. ‘Where is this woman going?’’, ‘’Where is she taking the little boy?’

And lastly, at the end of the trailer, they have created an enigma/ rhetorical question ‘What really happened?’ to its audience which makes them wonder and watch the movie to answer their questions.
