CROPPING PATTERN
• In alliyar basin major crop is coconut plantation. Covered more than 85 percent of the area.
• Paddy, sugarcane, and groundnut can also be grown in the remaining areas.
Requirments of w.u.a
• The following amenities should be provided for strenthening the water users association.
• Enough finance should be provided for cleaning and maintance of canals under the control w.u.a’s.
• Facilities like office computer and staffs should be alloted for effiecent running of the water users association.
• The vehicle should be alloted at the time of irrigation period for inspection of canals to facilitate for supply of water till the tailends and also to prevent water theft in canals
